I also watched two very different, very great Edgar Wright comedies.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) - A-

The characters were extremely fun and endearing, particularly Michael Cera as Scott, who, despite not being that great of a person, is easily likable. The villains were all hilariously hammy, my favourite being Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel, whose one single scene is absolutely side-splitting. The script is witty and charming, with my only problem being the lack of personal moments between the characters. The fight scenes were also great and the film had a good soundtrack.

Yep, lack of touching personal moments really hurts it, especially in contrast to the graphic novel series that’s just full of them. If you haven’t read the books, I highly reccomend them.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark
Of course, A+

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Can’t quite make up my mind. On one hand, the effects aren’t as good as Raiders and Willie is completely incompetant and annoying. On the other hand, I absolutely love nearly everything else.
On the fence between giving it a B+ or A-

Also, this thread was needed as a separate entity from the “Last Song” thread.

Agreed. It’s so sad when I see people my age and their phones are just a collection of disjointed songs.

Couldn’t agree more.

That’s why I’ve recently lost the desire to burn disparate songs to CD. I want to experience the full albums as they were meant to be listened to, not just the individual songs which appeal to me the most.

Hearing a song alone and hearing a whole album flow are two vastly different experiences.

Anyway, last two albums I listened to were

Ghost in the Machine - The Police
One by One - Foo Fighters

CAPTAIN AMERICA IS HYDRA NOW!

The Big 2 comic publishers have officially disillusioned me.

I’ve been officially disillusioned with them since at least 2010. I think it began when I read that stupid, pointless tripe known as Infinite Crisis, and it was certainly clinched when Marvel decided to make the May Parker Spider-Girl an orphan.

I only really got into comics in the last year. Used to I’d just pick up whatever Superman issue would be on the newsstand at the front of the bookstore, and I’d only go there a few times a year.

Thankfully I have decades of back issues to explore now.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) – 8/10

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) – 8/10

What makes you enjoy the Hunger Games movies so much?

We all have that one movie don’t we?

To be fair, the Catching Fire really is a pretty good movie. The rest were okay IMO.

I’ve come to realize that it does not matter what I say here.

Now we’re getting somewhere!

Normally I might take this as a cut due to the internet being so cold but ya know, it doesn’t matter, and I’m okay with that. Totally ok.

😃

Nothing matters anyway. Each day I grow closer to being a nihilist, and that scares me. I also grow closer to adulthood, which scares me even more. Wait, what was my point again?
