Well, it's Frink, not Davdar.

When I looked on fanedit.info after he posted that, it wasn't there. Also, I didn't know what he meant by upload "list." Did he mean he added them to the RAR on fanedit.info? No. There was only one .dlc, and its links are dead. Besides, I thought Davdar was in control of that. Did he mean he uploaded them to MySpleen? No. None of those are NTSC, nor are any of them recent uploads.

You can understand my confusion.

Frink is going to upload them to Fanedit.info.  The 'list' he was talking about is various fanedits he's going to upload to Fanedit.info.  Davdar's could be further down the list so it could be a while.

Fanedit.info has a .dlc file for RARs on Rapidshare, but all the links are offline.

I have added all three NTSC versions to my upload list.

For me this exchange between chyron and Frink was enough information but I guess it would have been better for you guys if Frink would have said he's uploading them to Fanedit.info which is where he always uploads.

I was trying to do more of this a couple of years ago, and I got really irritated with the judder that most converters produced when going from PAL to NTSC.  I'm not very technically savvy and couldn't follow that complex guide from Doctor M.  I preferred the cheating method with IFOedit, as at least my video was smooth when watched on a proper player, and it was easy for my little brain to do.  But I just now did a little more research, and it appears this little program might work miracles...and it's freeware!

http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/CD-DVD-Rip-Other-Tools/D2MP.shtml

Everything I read about it says that it perfectly converts and brings the menus along for the ride!  I'll have to check it out for a few of those videos that I had to cheat with.

Can't find a tutorial and when I tried, it won't accept any of the files in the Video_TS folder.  Would be so much easier if whoever has the NTSC version of Building Empire could tell us where they will upload lol

I told you, Fanedit.info.  The links are dead right now, but like Frink said above they're on his list to upload to Fanedit.info.  So until he does that you're going to have to make do with those PAL versions. (or download the Vimeo ones with Jdownloader)

Yeah my cheat trick pal to NTSC doesn't work on my ps3. Too good to be true lol

Try this, it's worked every time for me:

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_pal_to_ntsc_page_5.cfm

Nice! I'll give it a shot tomorrow, thanks!!

If that doesn't work I recommend the program AVStoDVD.  This, unlike the IFOedit patch cheat option, will give you a 100% NTSC DVD.  The only reason this is my last-ditch option is because you might lose a little quality.  The first option I gave you has no loss in quality, of course.  I use the HCenc encoder in AVStoDVD which is a phenomenal encoder so you can't really lose with this either.

I have a program that will convert the main video file, but I was trying to preserve the menu and extras. Not sure if that's possible.

What's the name of the program you're talking about?  There are different ways to preserve the menu and extras but it's time consuming and a pain.  From what I've read it appears you need an extensive amount of software which is freeware or otherwise.

FWIW here's a guide for this:

I'm still doing just fine with my Windows 95 and Nokia cellphone.

You can't update perfection.

December 31, 2001 was the end of support for Windows 95.  Apparently that doesn't matter to you.  I am curious though about 'End of Support' because I kind of would like to use XP after support ends.  I thought I read somewhere that if you have a good firewall and antivirus as well as a good anti-malware program like MalwareBytes you should be able to use XP after end of support.  Any thoughts on this?

"Yes you do - even if you're just passing through on your way to the desktop. You must boot into the metro ui."

Nope, you can boot directly to the desktop using the program Classic Shell. :

http://www.classicshell.net/

It also gives you a start menu which is lacking in Win8.

I don't actually have Windows 8 but because of programs like Classic Shell I've been getting more interested.

Does anybody here have Windows 8?  How's it working out for you?  Should I stick with Windows 7 or upgrade?

Edit: You can use classic shell in Windows 7 too.  It brings back certain features from XP that were removed.

Yeah the search function is really screwed up why the admin insists on using an obscure forum software rather than something like vBulletin is beyond me. If you want to search just type in site:originaltrilogy.com/forum "search term" on google.

Nope.  All you need in google is:  originaltrilogy.com "search term".

Also, I made a bookmark/favorite in my browsers so I don't have to type that every time I search.

Your workprints are pretty good but for me it's all about your original V1.0.  That is by far my favorite way to watch ROTJ.  There's just one problem with it, the poor video quality.  When I watch the OT in HD a lot of times I want to finish it with your V1.0 but it's such a drop in quality I usually don't.  I know you said you don't have what it takes to make an HD version but maybe someone else could.  It would be ideal if someone could take Harmy's upcoming ROTJ 2.0 in all it's despecialized, color-corrected, high-definition glory and use your V1.0 to make the ultimate HD edit of Return of the Jedi.  I know you probably would want to move the Yoda scene to the beginning and make other alterations but I think V1.0 is great as it is and if it was upgraded to HD would just be the HD V1.0 also and you could go from there with other HD edits.

I'm working on an HD version of Jedi right now - but it's the radical edit, not the original one. Do you have the DVD of version 1 or the AVI? If it's the AVI it's an Xvid, which would certainly explain the poor quality. Thankfully I've discovered x264 since then.

But I wish you could go back to the original or the first workprint and make that HD.  All the post-1983 stuff ruins it for me, it doesn't look right in ROTJ IMO.  What would you think of making two HD edits?  One could be radical and the other one without any stuff after 1983. If not, could I get version 1 from you; the DVD version because I only have the Xvid.  I'm sorry to bother you it's just that your Version 1 was awesome and IMO the best edit of ROTJ.  Your first workprint 'Father and Son' edit was great too,  but I thought all the radical stuff after that was going to far.

Yeah, you can convert the file... I used to use BDtoAVCHD back when it was a buggy program. Can anyone recommend good software to use nowadays? I prefer things like MultiAVCHD, Handbrake, DVD Auio Extractor, etc... I just like easy user interface software. If anyone knows the best software to convert BD to AVCHD, please enlighten us and thank you in advance. Much appreciated all the way around for this great project.

As far as I know these are the 'cream of the crop' and are free (Handbrake is decent too):

BD Rebuilder  (I think this is the only one that can do a FULL BD to AVCHD conversion complete with menus, extras etc;,)

Ripbot264

MakeMKV isn't shareware.  It's in Beta and has been for a long time.  While it's in Beta it's free.

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/MakeMKV

Oh! When I selected the index file it said it was SharewareI had 30 days to evaluate it before purchasing an activation key and asked did I want to start my 30 day trial period.

Ok it looks like I figured out the whole shareware deal.  It's freeware for DVD and AVCHD functionality but not for Blu Rays; they're shareware only:
