But in the world of Hollywood all cops are evil nightstick users.
Well, that's why Hollywood needs to be fenced off like the West Bank.

WHO LIKES To drink
Time
I don't drink. Maybe a sip or wine/champagne at a wedding, but that is the extent of it.

I don't like the taste of beer.
I have seen what alcohol can do to a person short-term.
I have not seen, but understand what it can do long-term.

I have seen Bill Cosby Himself and I do not wish to put my face, in a place, that was never meant for my face.

I see no practical reason for drinking.

Can somebody please list all the different systems I can play on a Wii. And please explain: Can I plug my old cartridges in, or do I need to download ROMs or what?
The Wii will be able to play its own games as well as Gamecube games straight up.

Wii will also connect to a special Nintendo online service known as the Virtual Console. For a cost between $4.50 and $8.99 per title (article specifically quotes Japanese prices of 500-1000 yen) you will be able to download NES, SNES, N64, Genesis and Turbografx 16 games.

Nintendo negotiated straight with the the TG16 manufacturer, so they have the rights to every game.
Getting all the Genesis titles is more difficult because they can't negotiate with only Sega, they'd have to talk all the developers.

I haven't seen any information about how the games are stored or anything like that. It may be that the games sit on the Wii's flash memory, or it could be that once you pay, you have the ability to download the game whenever you need to.

No definitive titles have been announced, but at E3, Super Mario Bros., Mario 64 and Sonic the Hedgehog were previewed.

I need some tech help with my smartphone(was: Anyone here know anything about smart phones?(was: Anyone here know anything about cell phones?))
Time
I was in the same position as you during early 2002. My dad was driving my car, late at night on a dark stretch of highway and had a blowout...in December...on the driver's side (which, as it happens, was the traffic-side when he pulled off the road.)

In my experience, pay as you go might not be what you want. Its been a while since I looked into it, but minutes you buy actually will expire after a while, possibly leaving you stuck.

Then I found this site:
http://www.emergencycellphones.com

To sum it up, any cellphone, activated or not, is capable of making 911 calls AND cellphone operator calls, which can get charged to a credit card at a very high per-minute rate. However, if you're expecting to talk maybe 5 minutes every couple months, the cost turns out being significantly lower than a normal cell plan.

I read up on it and bought a cellphone and charger off Ebay for something like $15. I never actually had to use it, but it did make me feel better.

(Eventually, when my sister went to college, my family boughther a real cellphone and a few months after, we decided to get 2 more with verizon's family plan, one for me and one for my mom. That was almost 2 years ago now.)

Shatner sings to Lucas

Shatner also did a spoken word version of rap song "Slim Shady" (is that the right name? I can't stand rap) on Futurama. He knows what people think of is "singing" and he plays into it.

Basically yes, but they're not always small. Larger ones could be used against horses or automobiles. The conventional European style was also refered to as Crow's Feet, because of its shape.
The Japanese version that I've seen is a little different:
http://www.entertheninja.com/images/wpn_calthrops.gif
However, after your description of its placement in the film, that couldn't be its function.

I went back to look at the movie, and I think I've seen that everytime and said "What was that?" but not given it much more thought.

I'm with Dayv, it looks like some kind of arm extension, but it also looks like it may also work as a brace. That was a pretty hard impact and you'd think it would buckle any man's wrist or elbow otherwise.

IT ONLY FITS IF YOU HAVE PICS.
Well, before things started, the announcement was made that there would be no pictures, but the person saying that did it with a camera in his hand, plus I saw at least one person with a camera phone out. Now, whether anything actually came out, I have no way of knowing.

Sufficed to say, fun was had by all.

Where have you visited?
Time
This is going to be kind of tough. I'll have to mentally trace some of the driving routes we've used going places...

Wisconsin
Ohio
Indiana
Illinois
Michigan
Pennsylvania
Kentucky
Tennesse
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
North Carolina
Virginia
West Virginia
Maryland
Mississippi ?? (we might have traveled entirely within Tennesse to the Arkansas border)
Arkansas
Oklahoma
Kansas ?? (we might have traveled entirely within Oklahoma to the Missouri border)
Missouri
Colorado

Outside the US:
Canada (just Ontario)

Yes, that's it, I've never left the continent. At some point in my life (and I know I've mentioned this on these boards) I'd like to travel across Southern Germany sampling local cuisine. One of my German teachers in high school said that every town has their own beers and sausages. well, I don't think, but I'm not sure I ever met a sausage I didn't like.

Fry: "So, I really am important? How I feel when I'm drunk is correct?"

That sort of thing.
I don't do that, but my brother does. That probably contributed to his controller problem.
Try as he will, he'll never destroy an Atari joystick though. Those things have hit our concrete basement floor so many times I've lost count.

Older stuff is almost always build better.

I, personally, have not had a controller break on me, however:
1. One of my N64 controllers had a problem at one point. I later found that the batteries in my rumble pack had leaked out. Every time I hit a spot for the rumble to go off, it locked up the controller. Link would walk in a straight line until I reset the system.
I removd

2. One of my brother's GC controllers has a loose analog stick, from him playing it so much. To get any reaction at all, you have to push it all the way in any given direction (to put it into SSBM terms, you need to always attempt smash attacks).

Why I'm not so worried anymore
Time
I found the problem...
don't hurt me!?

It was the TV, and I was viewing in "standard" instead of "fit" (or wide), which is what GundarkHunter mentioned.

The reason I didn't think about this at first was that scenes of LOTR that I was watching didn't looked squeezed.

Earlier today I put the movie back in to check again. I watched longer. In Chapter 2, when Frodo recognizes Gandalf's voice, he stands up and look straight into the camera, I could tell on that shot it was wrong. I changed the screen and all was right again.

So...anyone know if the first Batman on DVD release was anamorphic?? That and The Mask are the oldest DVDs I have.

That was one of the first things we did (my Dad helped some). Both my DVD players (Sony 5-disk and a Toshiba DVR/DVD burner) are set at 16:9.

On the same settings:
1. Episode 3, which is labelled as being anamorphic, filled the screen the best it could (had small bars top and bottom since its 2.35:1).
2. Back to the Future left no bars at all (has a 1.78:1 aspect ratio)
