HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray

Toshiba has also developed a dual-layer disk that uses both DVD and HD-DVD.

So you could buy 1 disk, and it would play at either HD or standard viewing.

I have too.

I've got an extremely old Star Wars arcade rom. Its so old, that its unplayable on anything better than a 286.

Luckily, I've got an old 8088 sitting and a CGA monitor sitting in the basement.
I've got an old gamport expansion card, and I need to find a decent joystick (a flight yoke if I can) to work with it.

Did anyone else find Ian McDiarmid to be ineffectual as the Emperor?

If you read the novelization of Shadows of the Empire (might be in the comics as well), there is a scene where Vader duels with a highly-modified ASP droid.
I recall this partly because they explain that Vader is testing his shoulder after the lightsaber hit he took from Luke at Bespin. Something about it still feeling sore, but that its much better than it was.

(Also, if you check the Essential Guide to Droids, it also mentions that Vader had a number of modified dueling droids...I don't recall the name of the droid model. He had several, but decided to start getting modified ASP droids instead. The dueling droids were expensive, and he was cutting through them too well.)

What about the idea of the simplified tax code he's brought up a couple times??

I think I remember how that Wolf/Rabbit/Carrot thing works, but since Bossk seems to be having such a good time, I'll not say anything.

If you're only doing 1 at a time, I apologize, but I have one for the rest of use while Bossk is working on rics.

You have 9 dots, arranged in a 3x3 grid, looking something like this (draw one out for yourself):

. . .
. . .
. . .

Now, using only 4 straight lines and without picking up pencil, put a line through all 9 dots.

I don't know if this will work, but I may have a solution for you on downloading it.

Find and download the trial version of a program called Offline Explorer (might be Offline Explorer Pro). The program is designed to download whole websites at a time, but it also let's you download streaming files.

Now, I don't know if it will work with Quicktime, or with the sw.com servers.
What I do know, is that I've been able to download Real Player streaming files off the packers.com site, including a radio call of Super Bowl XXXI, which they played during the Packers bye-week this year.
(I need to grab the NFL footage from the game I was at in Dec. 2001.)

Anyways, once you have the software, get the URL for the Quicktime video you want, plug it into the software, and start it downloading. Again, I emphasize that I don't know if it will work, but it is worth a shot.

Yes, it does have that song.
Instead of the Knights voluntarily splitting up for the search after the French taunting, like in the movie, the Knights run away and are scattered.

Arthur and Patsy find the Knights who say Ni, get their quest and Arthur gets depressed about finding a Shrubbery. Patsy then sings the song.

Yes, that scene is in the play. In fact, the whole Herbert thing is quite integral, as we learn that Lancelot is, as part of the song said, "Batting for the other team."

Very good. The plot of the movie was altered somewhat, but not a great deal.

The only fault I found with it, was that (at times) the lines were given to quickly.

Ex. Recall the movie, and the scene with the villagers and wanting to burn the "witch". The idiot villagers (Idle, Cleese and Palin) had to pause to think when answering Bedivere's questions.
In this show, those pauses seemed not long enough, or non-existent.

The surprise of the night, however, was when "god" appeared to give the Knights their quest.
In the movie, god was a Gilliam-animation. In the show, its just a massive set of feet that come down from above, then later they blast off (literally, like god had rocket-powered feet).
The big surprise was the voice of god.

John Cleese.

The songs were very good, and included 1 of Eric Idle's mainstays...Bright Side of Life (from Life of Brian).

Asian earth quake and Tidal Wave.

I don't know what new agencies you guys are getting your info from. Fox News and ABC radio have been reporting upwards of 22,000 dead all day.

The tsunami traveled an estimated 500 mph underwater, and was so far reaching that it hit and killed people in Africa.

The island of Sumatra has moved an estimated 100 ft (or 100 yards, I've heard both figures) from where it was before the quake.

My sister is freaked because she had a friend from college that went back to India for the winter break. She's emailed him, but not heard back yet.

I'll post a screenshot later, but I wanted to say I was seriously thinking about buying one of those a couple months ago Sessler.

A 1983 DMC-12 was sitting on a lot (a Delorean lot...owned by a relative of the designer) here in Cleveland.

It may still be there, but I haven't see it for a while, and I no longer have the money for it (assuming I would have had enough in the first place).

Don't worry, we won't hold that against you.

Yes, Green Bay wins to lock up their 3rd straight NFC North title. On Dec. 13, I said it would happen.
