the LD is supposed to be free of any noise reduction compared to the bluray mono

IT would probably be too much work but i wouldn’t mind syncing the original audio to the directors cut , I’ve never seen the original but it sounds like modernized effects were added to the DC.
I’d like to to just see them uploaded to YouTube as deleted scenes.
The only change I really noticed on br was a door slam other that it’s pretty close to it’s original mix. Don’t like the added dialog when roy chases JF either
im surprised no one mentioned the new mint green chocolate look to midnight cowboy.
The 1982 movie “Firefox” has apparently been altered audio-wise on modern home video releases. I’ve never seen the movie, so I couldn’t tell you what’s been changed.
Pretty much all of the old Clint movies were altered . The gauntlet has way too much LFE for a movie made in 77. Even the dead pool
Which had a Dolby track has new effects. I wouldn’t be surprised if heartbreak ridge or the rookie was changed as well.
Luckily someone posted the ld versions for the dirtyharolds
Day of the locust
Mono is missing from web releases
The sound is wrong on almost all the bond blurays / 4k releases before tmnd
Aside from the overdone remixes all of the mono mixes are compressed and noised reduced so badly it sounds like am radio . The only one they somewhat got right was the original mix for spy who loved me at 448kps. No noise reduction has been applied and you can hear bass during the fight scenes on the rooftop unlike the 5.1 hopefully they’ll include the original mixes uncompressed on 4k blu
I honestly didn’t notice much difference with the ld audio and the dts on that one.
Naked gun has never been released with its original mono aside from ld/vhs
I watched a sample from a view to a kill iTunes 4k and noticed quite a bit of cropping was done on the bluray . The framing and overall pq on the 4k version is much better Unfortunately it has the same crappy remix as the blurays with all the bass taken out.
I didn’t notice a huge difference in pq on living daylights, dr no or her ohmss tho haven’t seen goldeneye version but I imagine it’s a lot better
Every which way but loose
Any which way you can
They completly butchered the whole thing . It doesn’t sound like a movie made in the 70s anymore
Thought it would be a misprint but a reviewer of the newer 5.1 disc said the old version was stereo so guess laserdisc is the only way to go
one flew over the cukoo’s nest has a bunch of added foley and a 5.1 mix.
not sure if the old flipper DVD has the original mono.
The original audio is on the scarface bluray but compressed I imagine the laserdisc sounds better
If the audio sounds better than the mono on the bluray I’d like to hear it. The bluray version is compressed with heavy noise reduction.
I know this is an old thread but does anyone still have the audio track anywhere?
thanks !
Watched a bit of heartbreak ridge even tho its originally stereo I can tell Addional effects were put in for the 5.1
Surprised they added new effects thought it would be the same since it was originally Dolby . Makes me wonder if the rest of the Clint Eastwood stereo movies like the gauntlet were tinkered with. Ah well
I saw it in it the theater and it looked exactly like the DVD n bluray
does the laserdisc sound any better than the bluray 5.1 ?
I’m surprised how good the mono is on the enforcer . Some decent dynamic range in the gun battles . Subwoofer got a bit of use too. Didn’t need a 5.1 mix
just noticed after hearing the mono version they also took out a yell in the 5.1 remix when scorpio gets kicked by the black guy
mandela effect

So, are the ARROW and Shout Blu-ray disc releases for THE THING fine regarding the original audio tracks?
if it was they would have changed the SFX of el capitan and his pop gun.
