Ranking the Star Wars films
Time

I never understand when people say that the prequels had great world-building. Sure there was some, but it wasn’t great.

World-building can only be as interesting as the characters inhabiting that world, and all of the characters in the Prequel trilogy are so wooden. We see Mos Eisley for only a few minutes in Star Wars but it’s far more interesting and exciting than the Coruscant senate chamber.

Most Disappointing / Satisfying Aspect of the Sequel Trilogy?
Time

Favorite bits:

All of the new characters are fun and interesting and all of the old ones feel like proper continuations of their older selves.

Least favorite bits:

Superweapon in VII

Thread cleaned. Two entire irrelevant pages wiped. Please stay on topic, thanks.

The most satisfying aspect to the trilogy for me is the energy of this new cast. Finn and Poe escaping the Star Destroyer was more triumphant than anything in the prequels.

This scene really holds the test of time. The amount of pure fun, excitement, and sense of adventure really is something that The Force Awakens nailed. So at the end of the day, however many issues I take with the story and Rey’s character in the second half of the movie, I’ll be damned if it doesn’t recapture the power of Star Wars.

The Last Jedi recaptured the power as well and had an even more compelling story and character development.

Yeah, the chemistry of the actors is amazing! The Destroyer escape might be my favorite part of Episode VII! If they had just followed Poe and Finn on some epic adventure through the desert the movie would have been perfect!

Revenge of the Jedi (The Snooker edit) (Cancelled: *unfinished project *)

Here’s an idea: at some point after the Emperor’s death, we cut to Jerjerrod’s conflict scene, starting with a voice off-screen telling him that there is a message from the emperor’s chamber. We then hear that the message says to blow up the Destroyer at once. Jerjerrod looks at the other officer. We then cut to Vader’s death scene.

The audience can infer that the message is infact from Luke, giving his defeat of the Emperor some bearing on the actual battle plot. Again, this is just an idea.

I need some feedback on my idea for the attack before I actually get the wonderful voice actor to record the lines.

The Endor moon serves as a refueling and repair depot for the dreaded Imperial Starfleet. A successful attack on the moon’s facilities will strike a real blow to the Imperial war-effort, and will bring the rebellion one step closer to winning the war. However, before a full attack on the moon, a strike team headed by General Solo will need to deactivate the planetary defense shield.

I feel like for this movie to have any meaning in a hypothetical universe after it, the Rebels should manage to blow up the factory. Perhaps the Executor (after the Emperor’s death) could blow up and fall planet-ward- destroying the repair facility.

I also feel like the Rebel fleet scene I’ve been showing you is too… empty? I feel like it would be really upsetting to see that the Rebellion has only like 3 corvettes and Home One left. Perhaps I should take an idea from Rebels and have it be mentioned that the fleet we see in the movie is only one cell of the larger Rebel Alliance. This would also explain why Dodanna and Rieekan aren’t present in the movie- their cells are off doing other things. This also makes the ending of the light-hearted family action movie less depressing.

Another Idea: Perhaps Ackbar dies and Madine is the one to survive?

Cool, making progress! I think the glow is a little intense on the larger ships though.

Also, could you possibly use a different Falcon model? It might just be me, but it looks a little brown compared to the other ships.

Yeah, the bigger glows do need to be toned down. The Falcon model I’ve got is brown but unfortunately it’s the highest detailed model of the falcon available (it’s from Battlefront II).

I’ll desaturate it or something in post.
