I guffawed! : )
I guffawed! : )
I agree that a lot of these scenes are good! Unfortunately I believe that some of them are impossible to successfully integrate into any edits because of their extremely low quality and unfinished effects.
i really don’t like how most of your posts are self-promotion, FreezingTNT
wow RogueLeader! that is a wonderful idea!
jedit: can anyone think of any ways of getting Anakin’s lightsaber to Obi-Wan? maybe he picks it up in the temple? Does Mace confront Palpatine?
hmm…
I don’t know if I should change Qui-Gon’s robes. I feel like his are fine as-is. I do want to give Mace a darker outfit, and maybe have all of the council have different color pallets.
Maybe the federation droids and vehicles could all be gray? More imperial?
I will! I just want to solidify my vision a little more, and maybe launch that thread with a trailer.
Regarding your project snooker, I know you have been implementing a lot of the OT score into the movie, and you may have already done this or have picked a different piece of music, but I think it would cool to hear the beginning of the track “Tales of a Jedi Knight” when Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon first take off their hoods at the beginning of the film. Feels like it would be a good place for it.
thank you for the suggestion! I have a few candidates for that spot already, so I’ll see how it sounds!
it is definitely possible! it would just be… a very big time commitment.
I’ll go ahead and do a test scene to see if it would be worth it.
I really, really like this look on Obi-Wan.
Based on:
a 1994 imagining of a prequel-era Obi-Wan
Ok so, I really dislike Star Wars Legends. Pretty much all of the media that takes place after Return of the Jedi (with the Thrawn Trilogy being the exception) is really all over the place to me.
However, I have this thing stuck in the back of my head, of like, a TV-show styled edit of the Sequel Trilogy to make it kind of, not contradict anything in the Legends continuity. It would mostly focus on Rey, the First Order would be just another Imperial remnant, maybe with only one star destroyer?
This would be in the reconstruction period after the Yuuzhan Vong war, with the New Republic having reorganized into the Galactic Alliance. Rey, a scavenger on an unnamed desert world meets a stormtrooper, and together they go on a little adventure? They find the Falcon and make their escape, before running into Han, who’s been busy helping the Alliance with supply runs or something?
Just random thoughts.
i love this : )
Looks like I’m gonna watch ROTS for the first time in a while
: )
Anakin being stuck alone on the Federation ship is a great beat of drama that I don’t want to lose.
For the climax of Phantom Menace to work, Anakin needs to be genuinely heroic, and not accidentally heroic.
I’ve seen many edits with similar thoughts to mine, except I’ve never really seen them rescore this section. In the original, Williams’ really plays into the childish aspect of Anakin’s character, which doesn’t fit if he’s doing all of this intentionally.
In order to do this I had to completely redo the sound design, I hope it sounds ok!
JEDIT: also, I plan on making my own Phantom Menace edit thread soon!
I don’t even care about preserving the Yoda reveal in Empire, it’s just that he’s sooo boring in the prequelsssss.
I’ve got a hot take: Yoda should only appear once in the prequels, and it’s in his scene with Obi-Wan near the end of The Phantom Menace
Maybe Dooku could be seen in the Jedi Council in Episode 1? Of course he wouldn’t have any dialogue but this would help set up Episode 2 a little better
Here’s a test of an idea proposed here https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Ecanem-Motnahp-Eht-The-Phantom-Menace-Reversed-Fanedit/id/48945
gosh i could really break some forum rules right now
no
Star Wars has always been a leftist criticism of contemporary American Fascism. In the Original Trilogy, it was criticizing imperialism in Vietnam, in the Prequels it was criticizing liberals handing more and more power over to the extreme right.
The Sequels can be read as being a critique of liberal ineffectiveness to defeat the right. In canon, after the Galactic Civil War, the New Republic decides that disarmament is the best way to prevent the rise of a new empire. Of course, this doesn’t work and the New Republic is destroyed by people idolizing the Empire. You could read this as saying that legislation alone isn’t enough to defeat fascist sentiment. This could be seen as a criticism of general modern American liberal weariness to confront fascism directly.
I feel like the best angle to take this from is ‘The New Republic is responsible for this in some way’.
I thought his plan was to disable the power to a ship system? That he assumed would affect the tracker?
