Here is the trailer
https://youtu.be/wyFzIJkC8dYI like the trailer to diplay/inform about your work, but it isn´t a trailer which leaves a non-knowing third party grabbing or desire it, if that is your goal (my personal opion). Nonetheless, can´t wait for your tremendeous series to movie edit.
I wasn’t going for the non-knowers. It’s mainly a trailer for those within the fanedit community.

I’ve knocked up a poster too using that awesome Paul Mann artwork from the vinyl soundtrack release.
Great work. I’ll have to look up that artwork! BTW how did you embed the image into your post?
Woohoo…looking forward to the release. Appreciate the work you have put into this.
What always amazes me with edits is how quickly you get to 95% complete, and then how long that last 5% takes!
The end is near! Just a small amount of tidying for the opening pan shot and I’m done.
The poster is done… I couldn’t get the right look with all the elements, so the episode number had to go.

And in preparation for release I’ve made a small trailer, which I’ll post tomorrow.
The end is near! Final cut has been reviewed. All that is left is the rendering… and maybe a trailer.
How’s the rendering coming along? 😃
You know how it is with editing. I was about to render and then found something else I wasn’t happy with 😂. I’m just tidying up the opening shot then I’m good to go.
Yes! It’s easy to obsess over every frame. Fortunately, you can always put out an updated version with any future tweaks.
Edits are never finished, they’re just abandoned!

Great news smudger 😃
The poster is awesome, the stylistic choice appeals to me. Only the roman letter I feels strange. It is a good idea, but maybe it should look different, perhaps less opacity or incorporate the I into the title (got no idea for that unfortunately).
Yeah, I’m no artist! Couldn’t think of any other way to subtly get the episode number in there.
I have logo and font assets related to the sequel trilogy (and saga rebrand for Disney+) if you want me to mock up a logo for you that matches that.
Thanks that would be great.

Exciting! (says there’s no access on that poster link)
Should work now

I’m listening on headphones so it might be amplified but the two little notes that fade with the hyperspace sound are what’s bugging me. It’s obviously not a big deal but if you’re able to fade them out more it might help. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate what you’ve done here. Really looking forward to seeing the final version.
I know the 2 notes you’re talking about. They don’t actually fade out, they lead into the end “blast” of the “You Are a Mandalorian” track. Its the end blast that fades into the blast of the end credits. If you want to listed to what I’m talking about its from the Chapter 1 soundtrack “You are a Mandalorian” from 2:30 onwards.
I’ve tried it without those 2 notes and decided the 2 note lead-in sounds better.
Here are the two different options (audio only)
https://youtu.be/yA9IhO-7pjU
The music transition IS really good.
Quick corrections: There’s no H in “Jon Favreau” and (I just looked this up) he didn’t direct any of the Mandalorian’s episodes. I knew he was the executive producer and the primary showrunner - but he never did direct any of the Mandalorian’s episodes.
Just checked the individual credits and you’re right about Favreau… I should know better than to trust Wookieepedia 😃
That transition works really well. I have a tiny nitpick with the music at 3:10 as the Razor Crest jumps into hyperspace. The timing sounds slightly off flowing into the credits. I can’t quite place it but it seems like the Mando music gets cut off a second too soon (or maybe needs to be extended a tiny bit).
The Mando music fades out to nothing underneath the blast of the end credits. Is it the Timing of the hyperspace noise that’s the problem? Pushing the end credits music any later creates a step.
The penultimate piece in the jigsaw… the closing scene.
I’ve kept the Moff Gideon Scene out but have rescored it using a portion of “you are a Mandalorian”.
This provides an almost seamless music transition from the chapter 8 clip to the added chapter 3 clip and runs much better into the classical Star Wars music.
just the opening crawl to go…
Would anyone be able to get me DigModiFicaTion’s edit of Rogue One?
I can help you with that 😉
Can you help me too 😁
Does anyone have access to Smudger9’s Clone Wars movies. Desperately trying to find them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Originals all lost in a hardware failure 😦
You could always save the scene for near the start of the second-series-as-a-movie when it (hopefully) comes?
Or people who don’t want it could just press stop before the credits end.
I’m leaning towards leaving it as a post credits scene. It’s not long enough to be used as a “flashback” in Episode 2.
Had a productive holiday. Have my final list of minor corrections, and have also found a much better music extension for the final scene before the iris-out. Very much on track for an August release.
Cut Moff Gideon survival reveal scene and added as post credits scene.
doesn’t this sort of blow the whole “classic Star Wars” vibe you’re going for all by itself?
It seems sort of jarring to adhere so strongly to main saga convention and then make a Marvel gimmick the last thing anyone sees.
Not at all. It’s removal means that the end scene is Much more like a classical Star was movie with a long, music driven closing scene. I was originally intending to cut it completely. Putting it at the end is just a way of keeping it in the movie In some form. When I view it I’ll be ignoring it.
I would cut it completely or move it earlier. The post-credit scene is just too un-Star Wars. You could put it immediately after he crashes, or just not have it. To me, it’s nice to know the villain survived, which is pretty classic Star Wars. Just move it before the scene with the heroes and music swelling. Or let him pop up, miraculously surviving, in the next movie for season two without that scene.
I’d argue that it’s more “Star Wars” to not know whether the villain has survived or not… Darth Maul, Boba Fett, The Emperor
Moving it earlier just doesn’t work for the ending when you view it as a whole movie… it feels like the ending of a TV series.
All three of those examples are retcons. If you look at Darth Vader in A New Hope, Boba Fett and Vader in Empire Strikes Back, Sidious/Palpatine in Phantom Menace, Dooku and Palpatine in Attack of the Clones, Vader and Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith…
There was almost always a final shot of the villain ensuring we knew there was an ongoing threat just before the heroes reunited and had the hopeful look into the distance shot with swelling music before the circle-wipe transition to the credits.
There is, but it’s usually a subtle shot demonstrating the threat and never of a character that our heroes believe to be dead.
If we take EpI and EPIV those shots are extremely subtle. We’ve certainly never had a “Aha, I survived” shot at the end of a Star Wars movie.
When it comes down to it, we won’t know what will work best until season 2 is released, but my feeling is that not knowing Gideon is alive will play out better.
Cut Moff Gideon survival reveal scene and added as post credits scene.

Or:
Following the death of EMPEROR PALPATINE at the Battle of Endor, a power vacuum has plunged the galaxy into chaos. The IMPERIAL REMNANT have become war lords ruling over the splintered galaxy.
The newly-formed GALACTIC REPUBLIC has failed to bring any but the core systems to order, leaving the rest of the galaxy without hope of justice. Many have turned to BOUNTY HUNTERS to enforce being about order to the Outer Rim.
Commissioned by THE GUILD, bounty hunters are given an age and tracking beacons to the chain codes of targets. With the promise of a vast reward, a lone MANDALORIAN approaches the last known location of his prey…
Thanks for that, some great ideas.
But don’t forget that they normally get more than a target’s age…
I wasn’t happy with the opening crawl, so I’ve been playing around with it. I’ve settled on this. Any comments?
Following the Battle of Endor the NEW REPUBLIC has restored peace to the core systems, but a power vacuum has plunged the outer rim into chaos.
IMPERIAL REMNANTS have formed in the shadows. They have taken control of distant worlds as they search for a mysterious asset that could return them to power.
Commissioned by the Bounty Hunter Guild and given only the asset’s age and the promise of a vast reward, a lone MANDALORIAN approaches its last known location…
Sooooooo… its finished!!!
