Terror Experts Warn Next 9/11 Could Fall On Different Date
Time

WASHINGTON—In an alarming development with wide-reaching implications for America's safety, Department of Homeland Security head Michael Chertoff and CIA Director Michael Hayden issued a joint report Monday warning that the next 9/11 could in fact occur on a different date.

The report, based on intelligence gathered by field-agents, found that a future 9/11 might take place on an entirely new month and day, including 4/24, 6/13, or even 10/12. According to the report, the nation could realistically find itself in the midst of a 5/25 scenario, as well as a potential 3/14 situation in the months to come.

8/28, 6/19, and 11/7 were also cited as possible 9/11s.

"While 9/11 has historically always fallen on 9/11, we as Americans need to be prepared for a wide range of dates," Chertoff said during a White House press conference. "There's a chance we could all find ourselves living in a post-6/10 world as early as next July. Unless, that is, we're already living in a pre-2/14 world."

"1/1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5," Chertoff continued for nearly 45 minutes, "12/28, 12/29, 12/30, 12/31—these are all plausible and serious threats."

An addendum to the report that includes leap years will be released by the end of March.

Though the DHS has identified more than 7,000 sensitive dates spanning the next 20 years, it did manage to rule out 4/15/04 and 10/38 as future 9/11s. The government report also confirmed that the next 9/11 would more than likely not involve an assault on the World Trade Center's North and South towers as it has in previous attacks.

Furthermore, the 350-page document rejected long-held beliefs that the next 9/11 would commence at 8:46 a.m. on a sunny Tuesday morning. In fact, it warns that a future attack could occur on a cloudy, snowy, or even brisk day, at 8:53 a.m., 10:42 p.m., or any one of the other 1,440 known times.

"We are dealing with agents of terror who are willing to carry out another 9/11 on—if you can imagine it—6/8," Hayden told reporters. "Indeed a day may come when we as a nation have to live in fear of another 6/8, recount where we were when 6/8 happened, and swear never to forget the events of 6/8."

"At some point we might even have to come to terms with the harsh lessons of 6/8," Hayden continued.

Hayden assured citizens, however, that no matter what date the imminent attacks fall on, he has every reason to believe that the next 9/11 will be carried out by militants, radicals, zealots, or extremists, who will stop at nothing, next to nothing, or very little to destroy America.

Hayden also said he was certain that at least one of the world's 6.7 billion human beings will plot the future 5/24 or 3/17 attacks, and that it will most likely target either the nation's subways, seaports, landmarks, stadiums, buildings, structures, or other indoor or outdoor areas where large groups of people tend to gather.

"Instead of calling major terrorist attacks on their soil 'our 9-11,' other nations may soon refer to their own national disasters as 'our 11/28,'" Chertoff said. "Which, incidentally, is also my birthday, though I admit that is neither here nor there."

At the conclusion of the press conference, Chertoff urged Americans not be alarmed by the recent news, and to continue living their lives as they have for the last seven years—with the crippling fear that at any moment they, or someone they love, could die in a fiery inferno.

I enjoyed this. I think you might too.

Bond 22: Quantum of Solace

Martin Campbell directed the 2 Best modern Bond films with Goldeneye and Casino Royale.

He also directed the Good movie Mask of Zorro and the not so good kiddie  sequel .  I was nervous at the time because Legend of Zorro was such a turd after Goldeneye and Mask of Zorro i thought Casino Royale would be awful.

there were things that i did not like about the movie.  It being a reboot and so not really a prequel to Dr No because not in the sixties, cell phones and mention of 911.  Not the Same Suave and cool dude as Connery Played, more like Jack Bower or Jason Borne.  In essence they wanted a more american bond than brittish High Style had to go.  They last time they  tried to Americanize bond we got the dalton bond.  Not the way i would have gone, but a different bond.  To each there own.

My fave Bonds are Connery, Followed by Brosnan, Moore, Dalton, Craig, and Lazenby.

Moore put out the silliest Pictures until we got the world is not enough and die another day.  Die Another die could have been a better film but the screenwriters and producers who deserve all the blame shifted it onto Brosnan who is a fine actor in other films besides being the best Bond since Connery.

Brosnan Himself wanted to do more serious Bond and was waiting for them to give him a good script.  He wanted the more Fleming Bond last seen in the Dalton films.  He wanted more control and say over the script because of how silly the last film was.  They thought he became a problem and so fired him.  He  had a contract to make another bond film which they cancelled.

The only good dalton film which is decent but not the smash hit Goldeneye was is Living Daylights.  The Dalton films were the lowest money makers of all the bond films from what i have heard.  License to Kill with the hammy Villain from the Goonies and that Viva Las Vegas Dude could have not been a worse movie.

Dalton seemed to be a stiff.  He acted by not acting, he was very much  Like   a stage play actor and not a movie star.  He apparently still thinks he is james bond.  Watch his laughable performance in Loony Tunes Back in action.  So it goes for the dude who turned down Goldeneye.

The franchise Almost died with Dalton.  we had the Black years with no Bond films at all.  It's like George Clooney in Batman and Robin, and we had to wait so long for Batman to come back in the form of Christian Bale.

In the Dalton years filmgoers no longer cared about Bond.  Bond was no longer drawing in an audience.  Bond no Longer resonated with People, Bond no Longer mattered.  Until Brosnan saved the Franchise in Goldeneye.  Finally audiences got the Expensive blockbuster action packed kickass hero they were waiting for.  Better Special effects and more awesome gadgets.  Bond was fun to watch again and not snore inducing.  The Brosnan reinvented Bond was back to the fun of the connery pictures.  Then years later when Brosnans Paycheck got to big for the studios they reinvented bond again, for a more grim post 911 world.

Die another Day was a huge hit.  The studios made money.  They were taking a calculated risk in rebooting the entire series and throwing all previous bond out the window and casting an unknown.

While i liked Casino Royale to me it was a good action flick but was not James Bond.  It reminded me of the cuthroat american action star movies and tv.  We have our Rambos, John Mclanes, Our Jack Bowers and Jason Bornes.  I want Bond to be Bond.  A Ladykiller.  The consumate man Of style, the suave and debonaire Guy who is cool under all circumstances ready to make a comedic joke as he takes down another bad guy.

That is the Cubby Broccoli Bond and the Connery Bond.  It might Not be the Fleming Bond of the books who is "just a blunt object" as he put it.  They created a real character for the movies that existed outside the books. The Character that Terence Young created for the screen.  On the Silver screen our heroes are larger than life.  and are not supposed to be a projection of reality.  People who want  Literary can aways pick up a damn book and read it.

That being said Chris Cornells song was awesome and Alicia Keyes and Jack whites song is just plain awful the worst bond song by far even worse than madonnas.

When i heard Jack White of the band the white stripes which i hate was singing this i wanted it banned.  A pussified band where the dude sings Like a girl.  I'll take Chris Cornell any day over that.  Alicia Keys is a very good singer but was just awful here.  The producers wanted a song Like Mcartneys Live and Let Die and tried to get him to wirte and sing one for this movie.  Instead they make a Mcartney esque song ripoff of live and let die mixed with some bizarre Jazz Hiphop fusion wanting to stop up my ears as they bleed the song was so awful. White's coked up zombie face in the video is creepy. and Keys sings off key. Also they have zero chemistry together as a duet.

I just think you like to complain.

Y'all better vote for Obama!
Time

WASHINGTON—African-American man Barack Obama, 47, was given the least-desirable job in the entire country Tuesday when he was elected president of the United States of America. In his new high-stress, low-reward position, Obama will be charged with such tasks as completely overhauling the nation's broken-down economy, repairing the crumbling infrastructure, and generally having to please more than 300 million Americans and cater to their every whim on a daily basis. As part of his duties, the black man will have to spend four to eight years cleaning up the messes other people left behind. The job comes with such intense scrutiny and so certain a guarantee of failure that only one other person even bothered applying for it. Said scholar and activist Mark L. Denton, "It just goes to show you that, in this country, a black man still can't catch a break."

This is so fucking true.

True. Bush is most definitely not a conservative. I was greatly disappointed in many of the things he did (or rather, didn't do).

I like him as a person, but he's definitely responsible to a large extent to this protest vote/election that we have just witnessed.

Are there really any conservatives in congress today besides Ron Paul? I thought conservatives wanted to follow the Constituion but I see a problem here:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

People try to pass laws based on religious morals and hurting others freedoms. I fucking need freedom from religion.

I really respect real conservatives but it just seems like they are an endangered species

I just hope better times are ahead.

Countdown with Keith Olberman and the Rachel Maddow show are great

I used to watch all these shows back in the 90's, but now they are so one sided I can't watch them anymore.  Sure the shows always tilted one way, as Chris Matthews leaned to the left, O'Reilly to the right, but now the shows are just propaganda for each candidate.

Turn on Fox and they are burying Obama, turn on MSNBC and they are burying McCain, and these are now made just to preach to the choir.  The audience for these shows are people who have already made up their mind on treply with quoteheir vote and just want to hear things from 'their' point of view.

In the old days, there would be good debate on these shows, there would be objective analysis on both sides, now it comes down to if you are voting for McCain, turn on Fox.  If you are voting for Obama, turn on MSNBC.

I can't wait til this shit is over, because myself being an independent who doesn't drink the kool-aid for either side, I can hopefully start having  a debate with friends instead of hearing their bull shit talking points, because neither side wants to say anything bad about their candidate.  No matter who wins tonight, can I just ask the partisans on both sides to be civil and actually look at things objectively instead of drinking the kool aid from your party so we can solve the problems of this country.

This is why I won't watch 24 hour news channels. I really only watch the Daily Show and Colbert Report and they will damn well admit they are biased and I love the correspondents sharp wit.
