Just saw Deadpool & Wolverine. I liked it. It’s the weakest of the three Deadpool movies, but the best mcu movie we’ve had in a good while. It handles its cameos with more care than Multiverse of Madness did (though I don’t hate that movie as much as everyone else did). End credit sequence was very emotional.
I guess my only major complaint is that there were a bunch of continuity errors, though I guess that’s always been the case with most of the Fox-era films.
There was a time when I was against the idea of “they should just do gritty stuff like Rogue One and Andor and the EU and nothing else,” but even I’m starting to gravitate towards that mindset now. I think prioritizing all ages (kids) is no longer a viable option. Kids today barely have the attention span for a tiktok video now, let alone a movie, and nobody buys toys anymore.
According to MSW, proper filming starts in 3 weeks, but they already filmed some key scenes in secret recently. Most likely just the scene or two where Mando himself will be unmasked, since Pedro has to prioritize Fantastic Four this summer.

That was great! And once again, proof that most of these D+ shows should’ve just been movies instead.
I’ve also seen movie fan edits of both Kenobi and Ahsoka that I thought were far superior to their actual show counterparts.

Unfortunately I don’t think simply making “a little something for everyone” (i.e. different things for different people) is enough to unite the fandom, as each group generally seems to think Star Wars should only be made for their tastes specifically (even if not everyone admits it). Doesn’t help also that a ton of YouTubers nowadays make an entire living from hating Star Wars, no matter what it does.
Of all the groups you mentioned, I’m in the one that you described as “not very protective, fine with whatever direction Disney takes.” I honestly think at this point they should just keep doing whatever they’re doing, cause people will get mad no matter what. There was a time when even ESB was divisive, ffs!
Mixed feelings about this season finale (and the show as a whole, just like all the other Star Wars shows).
We still don’t know the Sith names of Qimir or creepy guy in the cave, so I actually still think Qimir is Plagueis and they just made his master a Muun to throw fans off.
I guess this also means that the reported Knights of the Old Republic movie from a few years ago is canceled now, since this finale borrows a lot from that story.

Apparently Disney got hacked and a bunch of mcu-related spoilers are about to leak. This happened to them before. Their general plan all the way up to Endgame leaked in early 2015. Wonder if something similar will happen to Star Wars.
They’re building sets for this now (some pics just leaked via MakingStarWars).
I guess this movie really is gonna film at the same time as Fantastic 4 (which means we probably won’t see Pedro’s face much in this).
Either way, at least it’s happening!

If the mother was gonna give Osha to the Jedi, then why did she start to turn herself into black smoke? Had she not done that, Sol probably wouldn’t have killed her…
One of many things in this episode that just felt so random and weird…
Sneider said again today that he heard that Shawn Levy’s movie might also be about Rey and that she might be “older” in that one.
Not a fan of these flashback episodes. Ep3 and ep7 probably shoulda just been one episode, just like how ep4 and ep5 shoulda just been one episode. Even the titles seem to suggest that this was originally the plan anyways.
Also, the way the Jedi apprentice kid just rushes back to the castle after analyzing the dna was stupid. The dna alone was enough proof that their mission was complete. They coulda just sent that info back to Jedi HQ and headed home.
Yeah now that I think about it more, Ridley’s performance as Rey got a bit better as the trilogy progressed, and part of that had to do with the story getting darker, so maybe darker is actually the way to go.
Just watched Acolyte episode 6. The Qimir/Osha stuff is cool but the rest is just okay. I’m starting to wonder if Qimir is way older than he seems… Either way, I no longer think he’s a Ren. I think the Kylo theme in the last episode was just to highlight how he and Osha have a similar dynamic to Kylo and Rey. I’m still putting my money on him being Plagueis. I like the theory of Vern being his former master. If he really is much older than he seems, then it would make sense, since she’s also like 100+, and according to the books, she also dabbled with the dark side a bit when she was young.
If this movie and Dune 3 really do release on the same day, the only way I can see this one making money is if they do at least one of two things:
1.Integrate as many classic ghosts as possible (Luke, Anakin, Qui-Gon, etc.) into the story and put them all over the marketing.
2.Have all of Rey’s students be kids/tweens and make it clear in the marketing that this is a kids movie first and foremost, to contrast with dune being “Star Wars for adults.” Market the movie as a light, pulpy adventure, rather than a dark drama. A Barbenheimer situation, of sorts.
Nobody is also talking about the fact that the Gollum movie is also scheduled for this same week, and classic LotR characters like Aragorn and Gandalf are expected to return for that one too, and Jackson and the original screenwriters are involved as well.
In the final version of TRoS, the legacy saber works normally, but there’s a leather band around it now, which implies that Rey did indeed repair it somehow, between the events of TLJ and TRoS. If I were Abrams, I woulda at least made the blade “wavy” or something, to remind audiences of the fact that the crystal got split in half (even if she did repair it, somehow).
Correct me if I’m wrong, but there is a fan edit of TROS that edited the saber’s blade to be instable like Kylo’s, right?

Just watched acolyte episode 5. The tone of the show is a lot darker now. Pretty good, for the most part, but a couple of character motivations still aren’t really adding up for me.
The director said Rey is the heart of Star Wars and all the fandom menace are losing their darn minds. Despite the fact that Luke passed the lightsaber in the sequel trilogy, the whole point of making those movies was Luke passing the torch so to speak. The Disney trilogy isn’t getting retconned and Luke’s story purpose has been given to Rey, to those fans who object to this hoping for a retcon or a Luke academy series walk away Star Wars died ten years ago for you.
I’m not gatekeeping I’m just pointing out a simple fact that those type of news channels if you can even call them that are totally obtuse about.
I not super excited for this film to be honest but I want to keep an open mind and heart. I hope the trailer when it arrives is good and maybe even my nieces might like it.
I’m not at all interested in the politics of how things are made or what have you I just want to enjoy Star Wars. I have to avoid those channels in my feed the algorithm promotes.
I agree. Whether people like it or not, Rey is Luke’s spiritual successor, and Luke was the original heart of the franchise (it was initially supposed to be called The Adventures of Luke Skywalker, after all).

this episode felt more like a filler, just like the 3rd episode, in a different way, it could be condensed into 10 to 15 minutes, they are putting extra stuff just for the season to have 8 episodes.
are they that 2 characters from the prequels ? i dont know but if they are is just a nothing fan service
and one more thing i just hope that the evil sister goes to that overused and generic star wars villans direction

Yes, I’m pretty sure that was Ki-Adi-Mundi and Plo Koon. Both of their species live long enough for them to be around 100 years before the PT.

Nice summation and without Hyperbole, but you didn’t mention Willow the tv series being erased from existence or Dial of Destiny flopping. And I disagree on Solo, I feel like Alden didn’t at all come off as Harrison. What Disney needs is a Star Wars film in the cinema that breaks a billion at the box office. If Dial can fail and Harrison was in it, what does that say about Lucasfilm? The same actor who was a draw when they made Force Awakens, couldn’t get people to see the 5th Indiana Jones film. And also the Rey movie isn’t going to have Harrison or Mark or Carrie to carry it, we shall see what the box office says on that one if it ever gets released.
As for the Acolyte itself I just got into the older shows on disc, when is Disney going to put out Mando season 3 and Ahsoka? Because I would have to sign up for Plus and other than some of the cartoon shows and maybe Light and Magic it doesn’t seem like all that good a deal at the price point for no ads.
I could see Luke’s ghost showing up in the Rey movie, but aside from that, I understand your points.
Forgot about Willow and Indy 5. That said, I was just talking about SW specially. Not Lucasfilm as a whole.
