OK I see your point of view. I just think that the level of discussions for this forum has gone waaaay down recently.

With me it's the opposite. When I'm busy and have to do lots of work, time flies by like this *snaps*. Maybe because I'm always running against the clock to finish stuff.

But when the opposite happens, and there's nothing to do, it's a torture. The clocks suddenly STOPS. Sometimes I can talk to someone or get out for a walk and a coffee or read something, or study something, but sometimes I have no one to talk no where to go nothing to do at all but wait... One thing I do is to draw a clock on a paper and the hands as they move, and imagine "when the hands get here I can go"... or I draw a glass of water and start "filling up" the glass as the time progresses, in a way that it'll be filled when the time to go arrives... The sort of thing only someone completely insane as myself would do.

Brosnan is no longer Bond, Daniel Craig is now Bond.

I once thought of a Bond movie concept: he would infiltrate an enemy building or base and the whole movie would be just him getting into the building to get something or kill someone. A Bond movie in which he stays in one country, in one place, for the whole movie.

Sorry. Let me just skip the DEAD THREAD to say this:

I don't think it's a question of kids coming here or not, I mean, we often use the F word and describe adult situations, I mean, look at the joke thread. I don't think talking about it would be wrong, and I don't really wanna censor people based on that, I just feel that this sort of personal stuff don't really belong here. I don't wanna know when or how or if you had sex, I don't wanna know your sexual preferences, I don't think we should be discussing this here.

Ok, uh, DEAD THREAD back again?

Why didn't anyone post DEAD THREAD here yet?

C'mon you guys, we don't really need to know these details, such as the weirdest place you had sex, what was your first time, that sort of personal thing... This is not an pseudo-erotic forum, and if you guys want that, there's plenty of naughtiness over the web. I have absolutely nothing against it, I just don't feel this is the right place.

He passed down thought a corridor near where I am, I went there to see him, caught a glimpse of him for five seconds, he was greeting this woman in front of me. I'll try to see more of him later, I belive he'll make some sort of a speech or something. I was thinking of either pull his pants down or running naked, but I think the world don't need to see either me or the president without pants.

Yeah Ric, definitely go for it - although maybe getting something related to the visit signed might be nice.
p.s you still use punch cards??

I was also thinking of pulling a prank like pulling his pants to his ankles, but I don't wanna get fired.

I don;t have a punch card really, it's all done digitally, but I do print out my hours so I can keep a paper copy, I think it's safe to, specially when you work as a consultant as I do. So I would ask him to sign those.

I did have to work with a punch card on this other company I used to work. A 1950s style punch card thing.

In the tradition of the Long Bridge club, a totally unrelated post: the president (ours) is coming to the place I work, to inaugurate some thing and to talk to someone. He is going to make a speech a few meters from where I am right now. I don't think I'll be able to SEE him, but if I do, I might ask for an autograph. Do you think he might autograph the CD case of my Neon Genesis Evangelion soundtrack I listen to while I work? Or maybe even my punch card or badge...

A group of translators was hired to each translate one word of the joke. One of them accidentally saw two words and was in a coma for several days.

But then Hitler decided that the germans should also have a killer joke:

Hitler: My dog has no nose!
Nazi Youth Boy: But how does he smell?
Hitler: Bad!

Of course, the Lumberjack song! And other sketches:

* Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition
* Buying a license for a fish
* "Death of Mary - Queen of Scotts" ("...I think she's dead."- "No I'm not!")

I never enjoyed the Spam sketch, as I felt the joke was just repeating "spam" a lot of times...

I do, but that was their main porpouse, the silliness. Sometimes they missed the spot, but they mostly hit.

By the way, my favorite sketches (I might forget some):

* The dirty fork sketch
* The undertaker sketch
* Dead parrot
* Cheese shop
* Discussion
* Minister of Silly Walkings
* Confuse-a-cat
* How not to be seen
* Blackmail
* Silly Elections
* The world's funniest joke
* Ann Elk's dinossaur theory
* The "no no, I want YOU to marry ME" sketch ("you shouldnt ask cause its naughty")

Those from the TV show of course.

Yes, this is the Monty Python thread. Feel free to talk about the Flying Circus tv series, about the movies, about anything pythonesque or related to the pythons (such as "Fawlty Towers" or Terry Gillian), to re-create Monty Python skecthes (like we were doing on the Counting thread). But I wanr you not to get far too silly... or else I'll have to kill you using fresh fruit.

So, I belive we have plenty of Monty Python fans here? Huh? Huh? Nudge nudge say no more, knowhatimean, knowhatimean?

I ACTUALLY THINK THAT VIDEO GAMES STOP VIOLENCE. YOU GET PISSED OFF, SO YOU GO PUT IN A VIDEO GAME WHERE YOU CAN TAKE OUT THAT ANGER ON VIRTUAL PEOPLE WITHOUT ANY LEGAL ENTANGLEMENTS.

That's exactly what I do. When I get pissed, I'll pop in a GTA game, kill some people, and, in a few minutes, I feel very relieved. No harm done. The people regenerate. They're not real. And I actually have the sense to distinguish the difference between a game and real life. Opponents of video games might find that disturbing, but is it any more so than taking out aggressions on a punching bag or going to a shooting gallery where you're actually hitting and shooting as opposed to pushing round buttons on a controller to make someone else do it?

I think that considering the videogame violence as a form of releaf can be dangerous. What if your videogame broke? How would you seek this "releaf"?
