The bombings were not necessary. Historical studies proved Japan was ready to surrender, and to sign a deal. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were one of the most bloody and unnecessary slaughters ever. I've read lots of stories about it, and even posted a link about it once (it's on the chernobil thread), and it has always made me sick to my stomach.

I have a 1947 magazine I bought for about 2 dollars some time ago, on the cover it has a woman dressed in white, she has wings and has the word "pax" (peace in latin) writen on her, and she striped to a bomb being thrown. And it says "only when the last human being is killed, then we'll achieve true peace". As you all know, from my "insane liberal anarchist talks" on this thread, I don't agree with that, but unfortunally that's how many people see it.

OK enough, I've said I'd never post here again.

Yes DragonBall was a manga/anime, altough not a very good one, a huge success during the late 80s early 90s.

Akira Toryama actually had decided to end Dragon Ball at the end of the Freeza saga, killing Goku. His publisher did not like it at all, as DB was a huge success, and demanded him to continue the series - which got very silly after that, with robots, time travel, and magic powers and body fusions. After the ending of DBZ, they tried to continue the anime series (not the manga) with Dragon Ball GT (stands from "Grand Tour"), with 56 episodes. It's horrible, and almost didn't envolve Toryama at all, who was "busy" with other projects.

Dragon Ball was not a good manga/anime, altough Toryama can be funny and creatived when he wants to. I'd recomend it to 10-15 year old kids.

They retired the character after Peter Seller's death, and now they bring it back. Why? Unnecessary, as we all know this movie will suck. Roberto Begnini tried once, and did not succeed, what makes them think Steve Martin will? Ok, so let's reshoot dr. Strangelove as well, let's kill Seller's image.

I kinda enjoyed the use of it in the PT, as it was clearly used as a running joke. On the OT it was used because it's a cliche, the screenwriters didn't even noticed it was getting repeated all the time, just like this "We've got to get out of here!" line as Doc said.

That's what I've always said. Turning "Evangelion" into a live action movie would destroy it's original concept and porpouse, and would kill GAINAX's masterpiece. Some animes could get a live action version, such as Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Yamato, as long as they remain close to the original.
