Look at what I bought.....
Time
I'd rather go to David Gilmour's tour. Richard Wright is also on it, and on their setlist they are playing my favorite, "Echoes", in its entire form.

I was planning on buying that DVD but I have this thing about seeing Pink Floyd gigs on the screen, feeling kinda bad for not BEING there, you know? But since my Pink Floyd in Pompeii DVD is starting to get holes on it from repeated views, I might get this one.

You know what I bought yesterday? "Taxi Driver", out of a discount bin. I hadn't seen that one and wanted to very badly. Pretty awesome, sometimes kinda freaky. Has it's flaws, specially over editing, but it's great nonetheless.

Don't.

I saw the Budd video many years ago on VHS. One of my close friends was in the police academy at the time, and it was circulating through there. I imagine it came through official channels at some point and made it into the hands of an officer who made a copy.

Pretty gruesome.

I've seen it on the "Traces of Death" video series - on several angles and in slow motion as well, along with the aftermatch. Those Traces of Death movies - if you dare call those things "movies" - are one heck of a way to keep yourself awake for some days. After that I never again watched snuff films or have seen gory pictures.

Don't overreact. It was an analogy, not a direct comparison.

Everyone needs to calm down. If I locked a thread every time someone expressed a bit of apprehension towards the topic, this place would be empty.

AWK isn't Voldemort, and we're not going to elevate him to that status.

I know that I've said I would not post here again, but every single time I make such promise I have the tendency of breaking it. But since this topic has changed from AWK into the whole "dead thread" discussion and its implications, I feel it's still valid for it to go on.

First of all, I belive everyone's calm. And I agree and understand it was merely an analogy, but what I feel you expressed on it is that we shouldn't just keep ourselves quiet because someone came over and done something we disaproove. But I don't feel your analogy is entirely valid because the holocaust is an important historical fact, and a forum troll isn't. We are not elevating him to any status of any sort, I feel we are doing the opposite here.

On some threads we have come into heated discussions in which one ore more parts disagreed and had this aprehension towards what was being discussed, the politic discussions are such examples, and we've never come close of locking the thread just for that. Our thread locking has been used only in, basically, trolling - useless or senseless topics and offensive discussions. And I particularly feel that discussing the behaviour of someone who has done such things is also senseless, as there is no real point. Can such conversation evolve beyond the whole "I hated him, he did this and that"? Wouldn't that be an open invitation for this behaviour, as it shows we are shaken by this trolling episodes? Well, I know I've contributed with my part on the futility of it, with these two posts of mine on this thread, and for that I apologise. But I was merely expressing my opinion, the same way the owner of this thread was clearly doing. I don't condemn him for starting this thread or anything, but he is now aware of who AWK was.

I've always defended and praised freedom of speech, and let's not mix up both. It's like the analogy I've done with suicide. Like, take that live TV suicide by that north american politician, Budd something. Later that day some TV stations broadcasted the whole thing, some showed only a few scenes, some refused to air any images of it. Why? Because it serves no point. That's what I was trying to say...

What will move people to the theaters are boredom, and a mix of nostalgia over he original Rocky and curiosity on how the film will be. It's an easily predictable 2 weeks #1, and will probably be the highest grossing Rocky movie ever. Will it be good? Very unlikely. But audiences will pay.

I disagree with you there Jay. You can't compare one of the most horrible and memorable moments of human history with a forum troll. It makes no sense discussing him, and it only gives reasons for more trolls to come in here, since we clearly demonstrate that they affect us, even when not here any longer. If you want to make an analogy, think of how TV stations and newspapers refuse to broadcast suicides (unless involving celebrities or under extreme circustances), because it has no valid point, not a good one anyway. You're the boss, but I gotta agree on the dead thread plee there, and I'll comply, no posting on this thread again.

What Johnson didn't know, as he loaded his gun with the acronym I can't recall at the moment, was that the bullets sold by the little prince from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's Le Petit Prince were magical bullets... On the meanwhile, Clint Eastwood Look Alike was setling his deal with Kenny Rogers:

"I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. Get a coffin ready."

"But I'm hiring you to kill both John Wayne and Johnson!"

"My mistake. Two coffins."

"Cut the movie references and go kill them! Ten grand, right? Here's my credit card."

John Wayne, after winning the #1 prize at the science fair and borrowing it to his son to exibit on school's "show and tell", decided it was time to use his weapon on a deadly duel of "gunner" versus "deus ex machina-esque insane technical gizmo". So he took his 1800s cell phone, which was the size of a camel and powered by steam, and called Johson, to arrange a duel in front of the small Sergioleone church, the following day at noon. Pacific time. Daylight saving time.

Seeing that his new found nemeses always had the most bizarre set of events ocurring to him in a positive way, such as pokemon powers and future-set doctors coming to save his horse, John Wayne realized that a common weapon was not going to kill Johnson and Horse the way he wanted them to be killed: in a deadly, fatal way. So, drawing on the bluprints, he came up with an ingenious yet bizarre weapon that could end Johnson's life once and for all, a weapon the next person here will describe:

Well, Zagallo was an ex-player and took over the role as coach for the 1970 World Cup, and we all know how it went (pretty well), but that was a whole different era, a whole different team, and Zagallo is somewhat of a genius. Dunga, on the other hand, is not. Apart from lacking football coaching experience and not being THE greatest strategic player Brazil has, he dosen't have much of a leadership skill, even though he was the captain in 1990, 1994 and 1998. Terrible, terrible choice, made purely by desperation, with no real thought put into it. Sadly Scolari shows no signs of coming back from Portugal - ever - so I guess that's pretty much what we'll have, mediocrity. A coach nicknamed Cuca would be the perfect choice for the role, or... oh well, what the heck, even ex-Barcelona's Luxemburgo, but I guess we'll have to take Dunga at least for an year.
