I have to write a Letter to George Lucas...

I think that when he gets some time to really think about things, he'll release the OT on DVD. If there's one thing he is, he's very clever at marketing. I think he's just waiting and waiting for demand to build up, and he has no need to release it now, with his prequels. He needs a way to make money later on (despite the millions he has already).

OK so basically, this was his plans:

1977- Release Star Wars. Get a whole bunch of money.
1980 - Re-relase Star Wars so that people can watch it before watching ESB. Add "A New Hope" to the title.
1980s/1990s - Release it in video, get some more money.
1997- Re-re-release it on theaters. Change some random stuff to justify the re-re-release. Make sure Greedo shoots first this time.
2004- Wait until the fans can't wait no more for the DVD. Change some more stuff in order to create a hype, and released it. Get some more money from it.
2006?- Release a TV show. Remember: plot matters not! Make sure Kevin Smith is as far away from the project as possible, he could accidently make it good. Good TV shows are NOT profitable, because only inteligent people watch good TV shows, and inteligent people don't go on buying everything they see on the ads.
2007?- Re-re-re-relase the OTs and the PTs in 3D. Make sure you have a pseudo-director backing up this dated, ridiculously insane idea; a director like James Cameron would be nice.

You were the one who attempted to prove the "naturality" of the situation by observing farm animals. However, let's take it out of the realm of "science fiction", and I guess posing a hypothetical question qualifies as science fiction, let me risk another that hopefully will be less offensive: Which sexual orientation is best prepared to propogate the species? Going to another debate I've had recently, using the part of Darwin's theory that many choose to ignore (ie: Survival of the Fittest), if homosexuality were naturual, would not Darwin's theory dictate that it must be the dominant orientation in order to survive?

I think you are qualifing "homosexuality" as a genetic distinction, like color of the skin. If so, there would be no homosexuals, as their parents obviously had sex with the opposite sex. It's not like that, it's not apt to the netural selection as it's almost "random". If 5% of the birds ramdomly lose their abilities to reproduce, would birds vanish from the Earth after some generations? I think not.

That's exactly my point. It can't be considered genetic or "natural", or it wouldn't exist. Anyone who's taken Behavioral Psych 101 will tell you it's a learned behavior that can and has been changed in the past.

I agree. I agree. But calling that an "abnormality" and treating homosexuals as their were not humans is WRONG. I have homosexual friends, and I like them as much as my heterosexual friends. They are normal people. If I hear someone badmouthing homosexuals, saying they should all die or something, I get on my feet and say "Sieg HEIL! Sieg HEIL! Sieg HEIL!"

Video Games - a general discussion thread

Funny you mentioned it. Yesterday I couldn't sleep, so I tried to perform it, using an emulator, slowing down the game and using save points. I was able to get to world 8 pretty much the same way he did, only not as fast... But at world 8 things got complicated... It's easy to end the game like that, but it's hard to get the 99 lifes as he did, jumping on canon balls... After a while I got frustrated and gave up.

About my "can't keep her legs closed for 5 minutes" commentary: I know I overreacted and generalized about that subject. I know i'ts more complicated than that. I was just talking about people who have inconsequential sex without thinking about it, without taking the necessary precautions, and when a pregnancy happens, they just kill the baby like it's the baby's fault...

So I'm Lei Ri Ramsao? Sound kinda egipcian.

What would you like to see in a scifi/fantasy web site? The time has come for a change...

Jay you don't need to rush things up, take your time. I know sometimes it's hard to find time to do what we wish to do, so don't worry.

I've sent you an e-mail some time ago, when you created this thread and notified us about the changes you wished to make, back then I didn't know exactly in which way I would be able to contribute, but now I've decided: I can talk about anime. I'll try not to focus on too well known, popular anime, I'll try to talk about some old anime (70s and 80s), recent anime (released this year), anime unknown, classic anime (Tezuka comes to mind), and stuff like that. I'm very familiar with the subject so it's relatively easy for me to write about it. I'm not sure how often I can contribute, if I'm not terribly busy, twice a month, otherwise once a month... Maybe I could even take turns with anyone else who wishes to write about the same subject, I don't know...

OK, things you can ask him:

* R2D2 can fly? Since when?!
* Midchlorians?! WTF??
* What were you SMOKING when you thought of Jar Jar?
* So, uh, when are you planning to further ruin the OT?
* So, uh, wasn't THX1138 good enough? You had to ruin it too?

OK, seriously:

* Who are your biggest influences and favorite movie directors?
* Can technology always help the story told by the director in his movie, or can it have the opposite effect? (good one, eh?)

Thank God for that. Homosexuality is not normal, it's a disorder. It's not something to be "proud" of. So are homosexuals automatically evil and guilty of grave sin? Of course not. They're human beings like the rest of us and should be respected as such. It's the actions (like marriage to one another, anal sex, etc.) that make them sinful.

And abortion is MURDER. Somehow, killing innocent human life before they even leave a woman's womb doesn't quite fit in with the Christian beliefs. A woman's right to choose? Heck, she already chose when she had sex in the first place. Makes me sick.

According to the homosexual part: hahaha that was a very funny impression of a XIX century man speaking... wow... almost foolled me...

About the abortion thing: I agree 100%. But not based on any religion, it's wrong because it's the most selfish, stupid act a mother can do, kill their own child because she can't keep her legs closed together for 5 minutes.
