I have Topaz if anyone needs me to try and upscale

Thoughts on either changing windu’s lightsaber to blue or on genionosis adding more purple and yellow sabers. Allows bothered me that just Sam had a new color.
Saw this using Force theme for Luke. It’s a bit loud, but like the idea. Maybe a piano force theme version?
Depending on if there is as season 2 of Obiwan, I am thinking of either during TPm all together (opening crawl fixes a lot) or combining ATOC and ROS as Ep1
These look great.
Thoughts on other OT movies? Like removing luke and Leia kissing?
Did you use the full SC 38 Reimagined or a cut version closer to the original fight’s size?
Keep any of the SC 38 Reimagined off vader lighting or too large SC 38 Reimagined helmet size?
I’m a prequel hater, but even I am excited about some small updates (cut sc81 and Adywan’s)
I think the best time to show is when Reva first says Anakin’s name in episode 2.
Also, can you make the stormtroopers less dumb from episode 5?
Maybe just me, I hated everything about episode 4 and would rather not watch a second of it every again.
As to Obiwan, you can easily have him building confidence post bacta tank.
As to Tala, you can cut most of her out which solved that.
Remember, original Star Wars was only 2 hours, so no ep 4 and 6 would still make plenty of a movie.
It should be easy since age difference is t as drastic as Luke was and the facial proportions are exact.
Great points made by everyone. Been thinking about the changes I will need to make. Sitting her with a fever and the flu I suspect is corona again, I can’t bother to sit down and edit right now, but:
Things I will change:
Reeva attempting to kill Vader will be the thing to interrupt him from grabbing the second ship, so there are no inconsistencies to his actions to leave Vader looking silly or with a drained stamina bar.
Episode 4 might have to be included (as I struggle to find a believable way to have the ship be tracked) without episode 4. Episode 4 also builds heavily upon Tala’s character (which they killed too early you ask me).
Reeva won’t get back up and crawl to the holo-communicator-thingy, we’ll leave her wounded, with the camera panning down to it. The rest can happen off-screen (for what I suspect to be the season 2 change rumored that Disney has done).
Leia “The Engineer” reaching the wires and then fixing it will happen without a five minute gap. It looks like she’s struggling to move away wires for way too long.
Removing some of the prolonged shots in which Stormtroopers have way too much time on their hands to actually kill civilians but just… don’t.
And probably more.
Love everything about this, I’ve felt the show to be average at best, although I have enjoyed it for the most part, but I know there are a lot shots and pieces of dialog that if taken out could really elevate the show
I am praying it lands well, because easily a C show that can turn into an A movie.
It would be worth trying duel of fates if there is a final Vader / Obi scene, otherwise agree on keeping off the table.
Second, the tracker gripe has been used multiple times in star wars and they never showed those trackers.
What if it goes from episode 2 to the scene where Reva tells vader about the tracking? It would then be implied that the fixed droid (since broken in episode 2) was fixed by the empire?
My question is how do you then keep any of episode 3?
- Episode 4 might have to be included (as I struggle to find a believable way to have the ship be tracked) without episode 4. Episode 4 also builds heavily upon Tala’s character (which they killed too early you ask me).
Why? A tracking device actually makes Vader letting Obiwan go even more likely.
I wonder if it’s easy to have it have Obi escape from Vader and remove the fire scene to only be tracked?
I am so excited to see better music in the movie version. The music is just so generic and that has surprised me (in a bad way.)
Depending on what they do in episode 6, it may be best to end a movie edit with episode 5. The Reeva character’s death here may be the best option we get, just cut her final moments with the communicator. I just completed a movie workprint for eps 1-5 and the length is exactly 2 hours 2 min. For me, I am quite satisfied with the movie I was able to get out of these 5 episodes. I am over the moon with Ewan’s performance at times, and using the edit to fix some of the bad writing and editing, it isn’t that bad of a TV movie. Nearly on par with Attack of the Clones in my opinion.
I have a feeling, that Reeva finding the communicator and now knowing about Luke, was about setting up season 2 which will take place entirely on Tatooine with Reeva as the Antagonist. I don’t think we see her in episode 6.
You are not selling me with that last statement.
Well that was a shit show of an episode. Where did the budget for this series go, swept up under a carpet somewhere?
The production value is just atrocious.
Did we watch different episodes? Or maybe compared to Episode 4, I really liked episode 5.
Can someone pm the link for Ep3?
And Obi Wan again is not showing very much agency in his own show, he just sort of moves along with whatever everybody else is doing and doesn’t talk very much.
I dont mind that sense Obi right now has lost his way. If they do a season 2, hopefully it is the more sure footed Obi.
Could also add things like slightly moving clouds, the atmosphere slightly pulsating, things to make stage background seem dynamic. I am excited to see.
Excited to see with more solid warping sounds as well.
Really nice work 21C! Probably the best I’ve ever seen that scene implemented. Though I do think the shot of Vader at 0:38-0:41 needs to go. It looks very out of place compared to every other shot.
It’s the slow motion that feels jarring.
Agree, this is the best I have seen so far and excited to see once it gets added to Adywan’s inevitable version that updates the lightsabers. It lifts the saber fight quality up while working within the material.
You could remove most of episode 2 and 3 and have the kidnappers take Leia straight to the Spanish Inquisition. Cut the Vader vs Kenobi bit because the suit doesn’t fit and it looks like a fan film. Cut a lot of the in fighting with the Spanish Inquisition. I know the Empire like pitting the military against each other but these guys answer to a very difficult boss and it gets repetitive.
And then I don’t know what to do with the escape in Ep. 4. So comical and I don’t think it was intended. The trench coat reminded me of The Little Rascals short where the kids were stacked in a coat pretending to be an adult. So awful.
So bad
I apologize if I missed it, but Bingowings suggested in another thread that eliminating most if not all of episode 2 and three, and just have Obi-Wan going straight to the fortress corrects a lot of problems. Yes, it eliminates the Vader fight, but I guess he agrees with me in that it wasn’t very good. Just my opinion.
It was never meant to be a fight … where it succeeded was obi fearing Vader … I thought that was much better than how bad episode 4 was.
Hi, Anjohan. I don’t know if your son already saw Rogue One, but lantern51 released an ANH edit that put the hallway scene of Vader in the beginning of the movie. It fits surprisingly well with ANH, and really make the movie feel more modern (it also can help into gather the attention of a younger audience). In his edit he included sc38 too, and it flowed really well with the rest of the film. If you have interest:

I think a drastically shortened sc38 mixed with a better movie (Adywan’s one day) will sit better.
Maybe a few more lens flares through the movie (I sm not kidding) so the effect doesn’t look out of place.
