I only have one suggestion for this, but I think it improves the film greatly:
Start the film with Luke on Dagobah
It just makes so much more sense

Do you have friends?
How long would you let them hangin on a wall? Weeks? Month? If they survive that long at all.

Luke’s waiting to hear from Lando before he does anything. This is set up at the end of ESB.
In the meantime, nothing’s stopping him from going back to Yoda and it makes more sense that he would.
You can click the link in my sig for my ideal opining to ROTJ.

After reading the responses to my comment about a I-IX boxset, I think it’s more likely they release the films individually and, at the very least, make each OT movie its own two-disc set.

This probably the only way they’ll get my money. They’ve waited too long and I’m too happy with the fan restorations I’ve got.
I don’t want any version of the SE or PT and I will not buy things I don’t want to get the small part I do want.

It’s more the principle of the thing at this point. The OOT should be officially restored if for no other reason than that it’s part of our cultural heritage. Lucasfilm (and possibly Fox) is the only possessor of higher quality sources like interpositives, separation masters, and the o-neg itself. Therefore, we shouldn’t have to settle for even the best possible fan restoration when it could look and sound even better.

Oh, I totally agree.
I’m just sayin’ that if they are expecting all the OUT fans to buy a big box full of movies they don’t like, they’ve waited too long for me.
If they do release each film separately (doubt it) or an OUT set (doubt that too) then I’ll bite. But that’s the only way they’re ever getting any money outta me.

I love that movie. It’s funny, but also very inspirational.
And you could do much worse than to become someone who chases his dreams until he succeeds. He’s doing fairly well.

When you put it like that… yeah. But after I watched it I had the thought of being watched in a high school classroom and being laughed at by a bunch of teachers and still living in the same house (or neighborhood, can’t remember) as your parents at age 30.

I really urge you to watch it again with a slightly different eye. There’s a beauty to this film and to Mark that often gets lost under the laughs. It’s much more than a crazy guy dreaming bigger than his means.
And, like I said, Mark is doing pretty well and doing what he loves. That’s more than most of us can say!

OH! Also look up the deleted scene: “Burger King”. I think it’s on youtube. It’s my favorite part of the movie and it’s not even in the movie!
JEDIT- Here it is!

I think he’s said he wanted to do something different with the torture droid needle at some point too, but yeah, I’m pretty sure everything is pretty set in stone for ANH:R:HD by now.

The needle isn’t gonna glow, he’s gonna reinstate C3PO reacting to R2 getting shot and the final shot of Tarkin before the DS explodes. There also won’t be stardestroyers from ESB and no 2D ships flying around.
I’m hoping he can/will fix the flashes on the bottom of the stardestoyer during the opening flyover. I think that’s been brought up before… I know 005 has mentioned wanting this as well.
Or maybe he’s changed his mind on all that. I dunno.

I’ve got an idea. How about we all be happy when it’s released. Those who aren’t can go spend their precious time and money to fix all of what they think he did wrong. Welcome to fanediting.

Yeah. How dare people offer suggestions to a project that that is totally open to suggestions?
Especially in a thread that the creator of said project created for conversation, debate and suggestions.

I’ve been playing Zelda since the release of the original.
The first four titles are beyond classics.
I haven’t played the DS or CDi titles, but I love (or at least like) all the rest.

Just realized that Link’s Awakening came out before OOT, so I’ll clarify:
I meant LOZ, AOL, ALTTP & OOT.
LA was ok, but not a favorite. I did really love the two Oracle games though and they’re very similar.

I’ve not played the first two for nes, I’ve beaten a link to the past, oot, and mm. Loved all of them. I’m in the process of playing tp, loving it so far. Then I’m going to play skyward sword. Then botw.

I’m very interested in how you’ll feel about Skyward Sword. It gets crapped on quite a bit, but I love it. It’s not perfect, but it has a strong chance at being my favorite.
(and I totally disagree with some of the major complaints about the game. The controls work wonderfully. Don’t believe that shit.)

Good list.

Make the Death Star bridge bigger, with more consoles and possibly a corridor. Somehow it just feels small, possibly due to lighting.

I feel the same needs to be done to the Executor bridge. It looks great in ESB (even better in ESB:R) but in ROTJ it looks like it’s closed for the night and they’re hangin’ out after hours. Low lights and it seems like most of the screens and machines have been turned off.

JEDIT- that may have been what you were talking about in the first place. I don’t remember the bridge on the Death Star.
