She told the cops and showed them the message. They uploaded it to some file as sent it to court and sent her away. I’m hoping that means they are working on a warrant.

Yeah, that sounds like they are. I hope so, man. Keep us updated.

And to everyone else going through a depressive stretch, and many of us are, keep yer chin up. ‘Tis the season to be down. Gets me every year. Just know that you aren’t alone and that it will pass. It will.
Stiff upper lip n’ all that.

Sorry to interject on the Zelda thread, but since the title still says Video Game Thread…

Nier: Automata finally came in the mail (ordered it on Black Friday and they sold out before filling all the orders). Anyone played it? What am I in for?

Just googled it and it looks like you’re in for LOTS of upskirt shots.
I couldn’t gather any more information. Maybe there isn’t any more information.

When Luke is hiding from Vader while he’s speaking to him saying “If you will not turn to the dark side…”, he’s holding another unlit lightsaber in his left hand (supposedly meant to be Luke’s that he threw at Vader to show that he won’t fight him).

Interesting! But in this scene, Luke hasn’t thrown his saber away yet. Certainly looks like his though. Really interesting!

I’m quite sure it [robot torture scene] was intended to be funny. And I’m quite sure it fell flat.

Yep. That robots can feel pain is established in ESB (3PO hits his head and R2 burns 3PO’s foot), but the torture scene is just terrible.
Whether it’s supposed to establish comedy or drama, it fails either way.

Why would Luke say “…your mother. Your real mother.” if Leia didn’t know she was adopted?
It’s the only reason he reiterates that point!
Sure, the PT throws a few wrenches in that, but that’s problems in the PT, not the OT. I’ve said it often around here lately, but the OT can’t be blamed for inconsistencies created by the PT.

I’m a pretty fair-minded guy. I have a balanced view on things. I get along well with people. I am compassionate towards others. I’m pretty good at admitting when I’m wrong.

So, hopefully, the weight of the following comment means something:

This place now sucks.

I disagree, so I’m afraid it means nothing at all without explanation.

It’s easy to explain how Leia remembers Padme, without any outside material. It’s because she has the Force. Plain and simple.

And yet leia said that she died when she was very young and NOT that she died when she was born ( which is how anyone would have talked if their parent had died in childbirth) . And that is because Leia’s mother WAS still alive during the first few years of her life when Jedi was written. Silly excuses cannot hide the fact that George forgot his own films and screwed up when doing the prequels.

Very young, newborn, whatever. Same thing in this case.

If Leia’s mother died giving birth, she wouldn’t tell Luke, a close friend in an intimate conversation, that she died when she was very young, she’d tell him she died giving birth and wouldn’t have memories of her at all.

Boring day, so… Here’s my rankings of the Legend of Zelda soundtracks! I haven’t played the DS titles, so those aren’t listed.
There isn’t a title with music I don’t like, so this ranking goes from good to great.
~
12. Link’s Awakening (1993)
Not a bad group of songs, but it’s the least memorable.
11. Oracle of Ages/Seasons (2001)
I love the update to the classic overworld theme!
10. Majora’s Mask (2000)
The mischievous title theme and the reworked classic Overworld theme stand out, but I find the rest a bit bland.
09. Twilight Princess (2006)
Hyrule Field Night and Hidden Village are a couple of the series best.
08. The Minish Cap (2004)
A very different sound for the series. Minish Village is a great track.
07. The Wind Waker (2002)
Would have liked this one to have had a more island/Polynesian sound, but it has a great title theme and a very adventurous overworld theme. Dragon’s Roost Island is another favorite.
06. The Legend of Zelda (1986)
The original theme and overworld are obviously classics, but I also love the Save/Continue and Dungeon themes.
05. Ocarina of Time (1998)
The title theme is just so good! Very different than the typical “adventure” music you’d expect. A truly classic soundtrack.
04. Breath of the Wild (2017)
A controversial approach that has divided the fans, BotW won me over more and more every time I played. Rito Village and Hyrule Castle are favorites.
03. A Link to the Past (1994)
The definition of Iconic! Every track is a masterpiece! The Darkworld and Seven Maidens are series standouts.
02. Skyward Sword (2011)
The first fully orchestrated score did not disappoint! Very fitting themes for each area and character. Fi’s theme is probably my favorite piece in the entire series!
01. The Adventure of Link (1987)
This one just has a magic to it that no other has had. Best Title Theme, Overworld, Battle, Boss and Dungeon music.
(The closest any track in any LoZ game has come is OOT’s Forest Temple.)

Just another voice to back up this ^.

While the PT isn’t as great as the rest of the saga, a lot of us here do consider it canon and part of the full Star Wars story. So even though it’s understandable that some want to ignore it, please at least don’t make any changes that contradict it!

The PT did it first.

Fact.
