Thanks, hope someone enjoys the effort.  A torrent can be created, suggest a place.  In the mean time, various programs can make the RAR downloading process automated.

For instance, there are plugins for firefox like FlashGot

Ooh, I like this thing! Thanks for all the info and most of all for all the work on this project! can't wait to watch all the TV ads.

The unmasking of Vader and Richard Marquand

I will have to find the quote, but Lucas was asked when they were filming TPM if Spielberg would direct Episode II & III.  Now I am paraphrasing but he said, "Spielberg has alot of great movies:  Jaws, Jurassic Park, ET, etc, but Star Wars is my baby."

Pretty much Lucas is saying that HE is known for Star Wars, and Spielberg has enough great movies to be a part of  ANOTHER great movie series.

Thats why I found the revelation that Spielberg was going to direct Jedi in the 2004 documentary seemed out of nowhere.

Ok, maybe George didn't ask Steve to direct one of the prequels, Geoge was in complete control of those atrocities. No outside opinions or steering at all. And we all know how that ended up... But we're talking Jedi.

And why would George want this information in the documentary (and don't fool yourself into thinking he wasn't in control of it's content) if he was running around saying that he never asked Spielberg to do it?

Spielberg saying "Star Wars is Georges baby" makes a lot more sense. It's polite way of saying no.

Then again, George has been caught in so many lies that finding out that the Spielberg to direct Jedi story is false would hardly faze me.

Lucas has repeated time and time again that Star Wars was his baby, and that is why he never asked Spielberg to direct one of the movies.  I always always thought that 'Spielberg to direct Jedi' stuff in Empire of Dreams documentary was a bunch of B.S.

Lucas has repeated a lot of B.S. time and time again. It means nothing. And what does SW being his "baby" have anything to do with Spielberg directing or not? Georgy didn't direct Empire, nor was he even on set for most of it's filming. I don't see how him asking Spielberg to direct Jedi is even remotely far fetched.

As for the un-masking of Vader, I thought it was brilliant when I was a small child and I still do today. It was a total shocker to find out that Vader was a redeemable human being.

You should change it to Needa taking an escape pod and being intercepted, then brought to Vader :P

 Couldn't disagree more.

Needa as a character has one moment to be defined: He mans up and takes responsibility with Vader. That makes us like him and makes Vader more of a jerk for killing an honorable officer.

Changing this totally alters the character, makes Needa worthy of execution (he's now a deserter) and blows Vader's best line "Apology accepted Captain Needa."

This. Not to discourage anyone from throwin' out ideas, but that sounds horribly SE. Though the " :P " makes me think you weren't all that serious to begin with ; )

"The tractor bea mis coupled to the main reactor in several locations. A small power loss at one of the terminals will allow the ship to leave."
I've never cared for the line, it seemed kind of jarring for some reason. Like it didn't belong, and his voice sounded different.

Ah, yeah, that line. I was thinking at the beginning when the blockade runner is being pulled into the stardestroyer. Guess I just imagined it. I was probably pretending to be 3P0 while playing Star Wars with friends, said something about it and then decided it was really in the movie haha. I always played the parts of Han Solo and C-3P0 as a kid.... which pretty much sums up who I am today- 75% Han, 25% 3P0.

n00b question but which Star Wars audio mix (if any) has the more common Aunt Beru dub and C-3PO's line about the tractor beam and the close the blast doors line?

What's this about 3P0 talking about the tractor beam? I've always thought I heard him say something about it, but I haven't seen a print with the line in since I was very small. I'd convinced myself that I made it up!

I know I've said this before, but it's the only support I can offer you...

I'M EXCITED AS TITS FOR THIS!!!!

I haven't seen the original cuts of A New Hope or Return Of The Jedi since 1997. (I was privileged enough to see Rsortors 35mm print of Empire awhile back... "bring my shuttle"... God I've missed that!) When the Special Edition set came out, I put my original box set away for safe keeping. Then several years later, my older sister came and STOLE it from me and now her kids have almost destroyed them... but at least my nephews are OUT fans!!

While I wouldn't like to see the fleet as large as the one assembled at Sullust it would be a pleasure to have an SE where the fleet we see is a little larger and more defined for the few moments we see it on screen.

I agree. I think I read that Ady doesn't wanna put the Calamari ships in the scene, but I think some more Blockaderunners, transports, frigates and such should be present. If I understand correctly, this is where the Rebellion is hiding since they were forced to leave Hoth. I personally would love to see the Calamari ships here, and maybe even show the galaxy/forming star thing during the briefing scene in Jedi to show that this is still the rebel fleets hiding spot.

It is funny how as a kid my peers and myself would mock the many rip-offs of Star Wars but it may be possible now to retell much of the PT using clips from old Galactica, Starcrash, The Black Hole and Return Of Captain Nemo and it would possibly make more sense.

I Vote we rename Starcrash "Star Wars Episode I" and the make two more films based off that one. Dibs on the Akton role.

Adywan, how do you communicate on this forum without an internet connection? Are you just using internet through a mobile phone or something? That's what I was assuming. Have you thought about setting up an internet connection at your Dad's place?

Why do we need to be in touch with Ady 24/7?

If Lucas had wanted to keep the surprises of the movies when watched in sequence then Yoda could only be mentioned, not seen, and Anakin turning into Darth Vader couldnt be shown.

I saw ESB in 1980 and the surprises were the highlight of the movie--I expected Yoda to be some austere bearded guy on a throne in the swamp and the Vader revelation was a real shocker.

Anything was possible--Darth Vader could have been around from the start of the movie (wouldnt that have been a surprise?) and Anakin Skywalker fights Vader  before Obi Wan  and Vader gets severely wounded or seemingly killed..and then after Anakin's defeat we see Darth Vader reappear(him having taken the name and persona of the character after the Emperor fixes him up). I hated the Prequels--so any change is ok with me. lol

And I also expected that General Kenobi would have been out of the jedi order and some kind of mercenary wandering Jedi fellow when he encounters Anakin. He did say in SW he didnt go by the name of Obi Wan for a long time...

And I expected Luke to be on Dagobah as an infant..

Yes yes yes yes yes. Love all of this.

And all these might work on an other edit.

Ady will not change any of these for any of the reasons you mention.

You can continue the interesting dicussion at ESB and ROTJ wishlist topic.

-Angel

But, if I understand correctly, there isn't really anything to change. Vader wanted Luke to kill the Emperor so Vader could become the new emperor, Luke would become his new apprentice and they would then "rule the galaxy as father and son". The Emperor wanted Luke to kill Vader and become his new stronger, younger apprentice- "now, fulfill you destiny and take your fathers place at my side". That was all already there.

I was ready for this dumb response and here is the correct reply

IF you dont have the appropriate display device to view these encodes/transfers, then what does it matter to you? You are the same person who cries that the OT isnt on Bluray but yet dont even have a Bluray player or HDTV.....

Edit: Next time, please understand my posts before you respond with a obvious dumb answer. If you have an older TV, then the GOUT is perfectly suited for such

Ha. Calm down guy. I didn't "complain" about anything. My set up is more than capable.
