Somebody Announces Something New about Star Wars!
Time

Sorry not everybody agrees with you Ender.  This is obviously very tough for you (not one, but two threads started about it). But I'm not seeing or hearing anything that makes me believe that the new stuff will be any better than what we've got since 1997. The announcement of a new animated kids show to replace the other animated kids show doesn't excite me. New films that have to follow in the PT soiled franchise don't excite me. It's all easier for you to believe in because you seem to like most Star Wars related media. Some of us don't. 'Cmon buddy. Put your sunglasses on and deal with it.

most of the hologram shots (excluding Leia's) throughout the entire saga, holograms are looking in the wrong direction. Just because Veers is higher in the shot does not mean Vader would be looking up at him. He'd be looking forward at his viewscreen or wherever his monitor of Veers is.

The only holograms I can think of that aren't looking at the folks they're being transmitted to are Leia in Star Wars and Luke in Jedi and both of those were pre-recorded messages, not live transmissions. (I dunno how they work in the prequels.) I agree though that Vader looking up at veers is strange. It implies (to me at least) that on Vaders end Veers is a big, intimidating floating head like the Emperor. Seems that kinda thing would be reserved for the Emperor, not every commander or general.

You should still be able to view it, even if you don't use facebook:

Thanks! Looks great! Is that a new probe droid or modifications to the original?

Kinda why alot of blockbusters suck. The studios know we'll all go and see them anyway.  Even if early reviews said the new trilogy made the holiday special look like ESB we'd all still queue for tickets.

Please say "I will" instead of "We will". The group your talking about isn't one I'd like to be included in...

;)

There is little chance I'll find myself in queue for Star Wars 7.

Hehehe I second that notion, very attractive woman for sure. Which is why I'm always baffled when I hear her in interviews saying she was always worried about her looks and weight. Oh well...

EVERY young woman is constantly worried about their looks and weight.

It's only fair to use images of Harrison, Mark and Carrie in professional makeup from their most recent or upcoming appearances, don't you think? ;)

Thanks for posting that Silverwook. I'm sick of hearing people say "I don't Wanna watch a movie about old people!" and using pics of the actors at their worst as examples to back themselves up. Cause, well, I don't wanna watch a movie about little kids! The "big three" still look good enough and all three can still act their asses off. I don't see the problem there...

I also hate the briefing scene.  Bingowings covered that pretty well.  "Hey, anyone else want to be a general?"  "Hey Luke!  We don't mind you at all barging into our super important meeting!"

When Luke enters the scene, there's one rebel pilot who doesn't look too happy to see him. His expression practically says, "Oh great. Mr. I blew up the Death Star is here." ;)

I've never noticed that! Where do I look for him?

Ady should kill Jah Jah in the most disgusting way possible in the special features for each of his revisited editions... It could be a running joke that Jah Jah always gets killed in the special features. :)

Yup.

Is your "yup" confirming that this will happen, or just an agreement?

As for adding a dead jar-jar in the wampa cave... I'm gonna assume it's nothing more than a joke.

And we're all glad your sense of humor is so finely attuned.

Ryan, you seem to be looking at specific set-pices from each film rather than the films as a whole. The speeder-bike chase and sarlac pit are very exciting scenes, but they lack the drama and tension of the previous films trench run and asteroid chase because the tone of the film is so different.

I'm not tryin' to change your mind or anything though. Just somethin' I noticed in your posts and thought ya might find this food for thought.

And msycamore, I have to say (well... I don't have to, but I'm gonna say) that I love the whole "Emperor as cackling sorcerer" thing! As someone else recently said, the juxtaposition of the sword and sorcery of the throne room and the giant space battle going on outside is fantastic! And Ian is amazing!!1!!

Yeah I think it flows pretty well enough.  I'd like to see the Executor shown at the start of the film too. :)

And should the movie continue that route it'll be interesting how they can make the briefing scene happen as it will be likely that Luke will be there the entire time now.

Yeah, this cuts out "I'm with you too!" which is a cringe inducing line. I'd also move the Luke/Leia "what's wrong" exchange to before the start of the briefing.

I can't think of any moments in ESB or ANH that have me grinning like a kid again as some of the sequences in ROTJ.

I can see that line of thinking, but I don't watch films to feel like a kid again. I want to enjoy films through the eyes of an adult and ROTJs slapstick silliness and general goofiness (which isn't a part of the previous 2 films) makes that difficult. Something I love about Star Wars and Empire is that they are films I loved as a child and they really grew up with me. As I grew older, I found different things to appreciate about the story, the characters and the situations. ROTJ has so many silly moments, scenarios and characters that I feel like I'm watching a movie designed to sell action figures, plastic lunchboxes and plush dolls to little kids.
