There’s only a very small fraction of sad weirdos doing that.

This really isn’t true.

It really is.

And even if it was true, that wouldn’t make it acceptable.

That’s why I called them sad weirdos.

It’s not a small fraction of sad weirdos. It’s a lot of people.

It is a lot of people, but that group is still very small compared to the rest of us.

I’m not attacking the man or anything, but I don’t like his stance on this.
Suppression of history is wrong. It’s something George himself used to preach about.

Back in the day he talked a lot about how it was wrong to suppress history. Now his actions demonstrate it.

Oof… that’s sad & true.

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

My only problem with Han in Jedi is his jealousy at Luke.
Han & Leia fell in love in Empire and even tell each other!
Leia’s first word’s to Han in Jedi is “…Someone who loves you.” !!!
Then Han spends the rest of the film jealous & suspicious of LukenLeia.
It’s really stupid.

Would you like the prequels to have done this with the Jedi and Sith?

My idea is that the PT shoulda’ taken place decades before the time it’s set in, giving MUCH more time for history to be altered, forgotten & erased. Obi-Wan, Yoda, Vader & Palpatine are much older than they seem, staying healthy via the Force (Yoda & Obi obviously are doing it the right way, while Vader & Palps end up looking unnatural.) The Skywalker twins are created long after anikins fall, but before his chop up. The Empire itself would be much older than what the PT sets up.

I like this idea myself. Potential problem with it is that that’s a lot of ground to cover in a single trilogy.

The trilogy wouldn’t have to cover that much ground. It sets up the Empire & the Obi-Yoda-Ani-Palp relationships.

And I imagine Mother Skywalker would be much younger than Anakin?

Yep.

And they would’ve met decades after the Jedi Purge?

Yep.

That could be problematic, too, if it renders her a bit character.

We wouldn’t meet her. Or see the twins. Or Vader.
It all starts to come together at the end of Empire.
I could see people wanting to know who the mother is, but it really doesn’t matter to me. Plenty of room for other important female roles both old & new.

All the anger and bitterness could have been easily avoided if he released the originals alongside his preferred SEs.

Broom Kid said:

Definitely, but on the other hand, it’s not his fault people are being like that.

So, it’s his fault, but it’s also not his fault?
Hmm…

It is his fault. He could have released the original versions that we already loved along side each of his SEs. Many directors have done this very thing.
He took what we loved away & childishly refuses to give it back. I do not feel bad for any greif he gets over it.
I don’t care that he made a PT that I don’t like. I don’t care that he wants to constantly change the OT. I only care that he’s suppressing history.

I’ve never been able to figure out how to do this, though I’ve been told my entire life that it would increase my enjoyment of movies considerably.

Then I guess you went do see the wrong movie for you 😁

Oh, I didn’t go. Haven’t even seen the last one. Or Solo.
Not ripping on anything, I could just see that they weren’t for me.

Yeah, the Jedi should have been a smaller, less known group of good-doers for sure.

JJ's style and shaky cam in TFA and TROS

Ugh let’s just drop the phrase shakey cam, a discussion on style is much more interesting than a debate about semantics, it was clear from the start the term was being used in a colloquial sense anyway this is missing the point. We are in a pot hole.

+1
The original post is very good and an interesting topic for discussion.

At this point my only hope is that the quality of the SE is good enough to be used for fan edits or restoration. I even don’t care anymore if there are going to be more changes or not.

The 4k masters have already proven to be a BIG step up from the DVD/BD masters. Adywan is using this master for Jedi Revisited and other restorative editors have said that this will be a big help.
Not as big a help as having a good scan of the OUT, but.

The other positive I’m taking from this set is that it’ll save me from spending around 200$.

Where they keep the ladders on the various small fighters in this universe is something that bothers me late at night.

Rope ladder.

But 1980!Luke had a bulky metal ladder somehow on Dagobah…

Sure, I was talking TIEs.
But it’s easy to believe that there’s a small compartment that the ladder slides into. That exists in our world, why is it impossible for Star Wars?
I’ll admit that the design coulda’ been better, but it’s not hard to believe that it’s collapsible and storable.

That’s not it at all. It’s that our OT heroes victories were seemingly undone & our enemies doubled strength with no explanation.
TFA seemed to hit reset on the galaxy like it was an old Nintendo.

I think the idea of a ST would have worked much better, if they had introduced the idea of a hidden Sith home world from the very start, the root of evil so to speak, an anti-Ahch-To, where Palpatine and Sith from the past are sort of a physical manifestation of the dark side in the known galaxy, that has its roots on this hidden unknown planet, where the spirits of the Sith of old reside, and can still take physical form, a sort of Mordor in the Star Wars galaxy so to speak. The OT would thus be the culmination of Empire vs rebels, and the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker arc, while the ST would be a culmination of the Jedi vs Sith war, that ends with the destruction of the Sith home world, and its corrupting influence on the galaxy.

This is good. I actually would have went to see this.

27-disc 4K Skywalker Saga to street 3/31/2020.

(Includes very short, non-spoiler comments on Rise of Skywalker)

https://thedigitalbits.com/columns/my-two-cents/121719-2000

That is going to be SUPER expensive, but everyone will buy it regardless.

Nope. I have no need or want for anything on any those 27 discs.
