Magnetic power of some kind.

Again, use your imagination people! This is not Star Trek, were everything have to be explained on screen with lousy concepts. This is Star Wars, were the lousy concepts are the ones the fans should bring during discussions with their friends! Anyone have the right to not like the look of that droid. But saying that you "hate" a 3 seconds video clips of that cute little droid because you don't understand how its head stands on its body... Come on. Maybe it will be your favorite character in the end! ;)

This. Although I'm not a fan of the droid, I don't hate it. Many, many aspects of the OT didn't, and don't make sense. Yet when similar things pop up in newer films, they're criticized and torn to bits. I think Ray has the right to his opinion, and I'm not criticizing him for it, but complaining about technological aspects of the movie (as distinct from story, which does need to make sense) when the OT was plagued with things that didn't make sense is silly, if you think the OT was amazing at the same time. It's hard to make sequels to classic movies and make them good enough for people to be happy with them, so don't be too picky or you'll end up with negative feelings about the trilogy for sure.

There are things in the OT that don't make scientific sense, but it all makes visual sense. There's nothing in the OT that needs to be explained because you see it you just understand.
I guess this could fall into the same category to some, but it just looks silly to me.
Why does it need an R2D2 head on top?

I hated the trailer on first watch except for a few shots. After watching two more times, my feelings have kinda reversed.. kinda.

-I hate that soccer ball droid. How's his R2 head staying on? Looks so silly. I just can't understand people saying it looks like it was plucked out of Star Wars (ANH).
-I hate the stupid cross lightsabre and it's fiery blades.
-I Hate that the dialog (and title) are all about the force and light/dark side. The Jedi stuff is the least interesting thing about Star Wars to me.

There are some things I like though.

I'm hoping the full trailer will have more of a 'Star Wars' feel and less of a 'any new blockbuster' vibe.

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

I'm reading the book 'The Making Of Day Of The Dead', and in it they mention the filming location of The Wampum Caves, later known as the Wampum Industrial Facility. Well, the facility is just like the film. A huge 2 million square feet underground storage area where everything and anything is stored. In the film it is mentioned that stored down there are "the negatives of all your favorite movies". Well, the book mentions that the negatives of the Star Wars films were stored down there. With so much stuff stored down there I wonder if the originals are still there !

I've read that book and wondered those thoughts myself.
But I remember reading somewhere that there was some kind of accident (Flood? Fire? I can't remember) sometime in the 1990's that destroyed most of what was stored down there. I did a quick Google and didn't find anything, so maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, I like that! Make it so that JerJerrod is nervous about the situation with the forest creatures, not about talking to Vader.
It would also make it seem as like Jerjerrod (I hate that name!) is confiding in Vader behind the Emperors back, which is interesting.

Is there anyway to change JerJerrod's character in ROTJ so that he's not so cowardly around Vader?

In ANH, Moff Tarkin and the others are almost totally dismissive of Vader. They outrank him and he's only hangin' around to impose fear on behalf of the Emperor.
Then Vader was suddenly the Big Boss in ESB, but I always thought that was becasue he's on his own ship, around his own crew and on his own secret mission.
Then in ROTJ, he's outranked and back to his old job of "motivating" the crew. Yet JerJerrod treats him as if he's the Emperor himself.
That doesn't add up to me.
JerJerrod is supposed to be a "Moff" like Tarkin was in ANH, so shouldn't he command the same power as Tarkin and not be so sniveling towards Vader?

This is one reason I wish Tarkin had survived the first Death Star. Having him show back up on the new DS greeting Vader at the beginning of ROTJ would have been perfect.

What's the best order to use when watching the Star Wars saga?
Time

The thread title is asking how to watch the movie Star Wars.
To answer that- it's best to use your eyes to view it, ears to hear it and brain to process that information.

But what you're really asking is "What's the best order to use when watching the Star Wars saga".

Really though, I'm just being a jerk.
