...All I ask is that it not "explain" the origins of anything.
From the article in the OP:
The story focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley.
There goes that, I'm afraid.
How? (And I really am asking. I'm not trying to be... whatever the word would be.)
The way I'm picturing it, the explosion would be much more satisfying than the way it just goes 'pop!' and disappears.
Besides, everyone on the thing would still be dead and the Rebels are saved. The victory is just as before, except there's a chunk of charred Death Star left floating in space. That doesn't take away from Luke any more than building a brand new DS does.

I love your ideas for Jedi! Has anyone ever edited the Luke in the cave scene to make it look like Dagobah?
Thanks! I haven't seen that scene done that way, but I've seen the same effect (background replacement) done by others on other projects enough to know that it's doable.

I don't know but the BB we saw was remarkably expressive. It had incredibly fine head movement, was amazingly emotive and completely mobile.
There would be zero need for a puppet if they had that on set.
But it is still a puppet. It's got people controlling it.
The headline seems disturbing, but the story is not.
I doubt that post was made by more than one person.
So, Disney's makin' a movie about a young gunslingin' drug smuggler?
Yeah, right.
There's zero chance the young Han I've always envisioned (and SW alluded to) will be the character in this film.
I've not watched the show, but I've seen enough pics to know that if they were trying to make the sabers look like they did in SW, they failed.
They're obviously based on the McQuarrie paintings. And that's pretty cool.
I really hate when the word 'random' is used in place of 'various'.
This site has several offending thread titles, but I can deal. It's been popping up everywhere in go though.
It bugs me almost as much as hearing people say "I could care less".
At least it doesn't have the opposite meaning of what is meant.
I never had a clear image of what he should look like, but I did expect his accent to match Shaw's.
His face matching a young Sebastian Shaw would have been best as well.
I've always loved the idea only one death star.
I'd love to see the DS explosion at the end of Star Wars changed so that only one half of the thing blasts leaving the rest a burned wreck. Then in Jedi we find out that they're rebuilding it, and still it's a surprise that it's once again operational.
If you're looking for some ideas on a fan edit of Jedi, I got some in my signature. Seems to be in line with the ideas your thinking of.
I think it's referring to all the wires coming out from behind it. Not a literal puppet on a stick. Analogy and whatnot.

My personal experience with a habitual liar back in the 80's taught me that when they sense the jig is up, they turn on the person who's found them out, and burn the bridges as quickly as possible.
That could explain why he lashed out at me every time I offered advice or encouragement.
Maybe he thought I was on to him.
(he was right.)
Cangrats, Warb!
I hope you an yer new robot become great pals!

Yeah. The sabers really got to me. As well of the ridicules decision to to make vader's eyes red. That alone makes no sense.
I just googled Vader from Rebels. I love the red eyes! Much more in line with SW'77. And the idea to go with Mcquarries lightsabers is cool in my book.
The show looks really stupid though.
the red eyes??? Dumb. If Lucas wanted his eyes red he would have vader eyes red in EBS and ROTJ and even ROTS
He had red eyes in SW. And who cares about Lucas and ROTS?
Does Vader really look like that in the show?
And is the aliasing in the Vader pic actually in the show?
Looks terrible.
As for your project, I can understand your intentions. I think it's cool that they are using Mcquarrie sabers (didn't know that!) but I can see people who are fans of this stuff wanting visual continuity with the movies.
I'm sure many people will appreciate your efforts!

As for Luke Skywalker, maybe it's a common name or not a rare name in the galaxy. Or the people on Tatooine like Wormie and Fixer just don't care.
Isn't Wormie Luke's nickname?
And how do ya think he got that nickname?
Does he often eat bad foods that give him worms?
Something to do with sandwordms? (I hate those things, huhhuh.)
Is it ever mentioned anywhere?
Can I ask some more questions?

You know what's funny about DrCrows sudden departure directly because of gay marriage being legalized in the US(... wtf. Guess he's moving to Russia or Ethiopia?) is that I remember this other time he said something like all conservative republicans deserve to be executed, and yes he seriously said that.
I'm not hating the guy, I actually liked his thoughts and enjoyed talking with him outside of the political threads and I honestly hope he comes back, but this has all left me a bit confused. :S
He told me that he hopes me and my family fall into financial hardship that we are unable to overcome as well as other horrible things. That was after I gave him a pat on the back and some friendly advice on finding a job.
Every time I tried to talk to him , he went all dramatic and posted a wall of hate and nonsense.
He just made a huge post about how he never sees anyone but his family whom he lives with, has no money, has no way to get out of his house, can't get a job, ect. (you know, his usual shtick) Then right after that, goes to another thread to talk about a comic con he's about to attend...
Somethin' don't add up...
He's an asshole and I'm glad he's gone.
I don't like feeling that way, but I never saw another side of him.

I love this!
Do you have any info on it?
I know that's Shirley Temple... Ok, I don't know that, but I'm fairly certain.
But is this from a show or a movie or a...
Ok, I don't really know what Shirley Temple did...
EDIT: Wait! What's he doing with his hands!?
I'm not sure I like this anymore... I didn't realize he was enjoying it.
^yeah, yeah... but where'd ya see that add, huh? Probably on something obscure like prime time television. That's where I remember it from. During some forgotten show like The Simpsons. And for such an small product!
; )

If you are in the Delaware area this is happening. Personally I can't wait.

But, when you have absolutely no way to get to town to find friends or look for work, much less hold a job (or any of the other things you always complain about), how will you get there? And how will you pay to get in?

We believe that being elitist about Star Wars, and wishing it remained a small, but obscure piece of work, is the wrong way to look at it.
Star Wars was never obscure nor small.
If you think Star Wars was obscure in the 90's before the SE, with all the novels, comics, toys, video games, board games, constant references on TV shows and movies, regular TV airings, ect. going on, then I wonder what you'd think of truly obscure films...
Anything less that ultra popular must be off your radar.
Why can't a Japanese person drink absinthe? And why would sake be the substitute? They are totally different beverages.
And neither is that great. I've had some sake that I'd drink again, but even the best absinthe I've had was terrible. Tastes like black liquorice and is way to sweet. The only thing appealing about absinthe is the lies that have been spread about it and it's usually got a great color.
