Why does everybody got the TFA badguy lightssaber for all the time now?
I’ll grab a digital copy until the disc has something to offer. The lack of features is disappointing, but there being a fourth Star Wars film I wanna own is neat!
Ormon Grimsby!
Solid post Haarspalter. I think you’ve nailed it.
There is nothing wrong with re-creating a character whom the original actor sold his likeness for.
^ I love that image! Makes me laugh every time.
Question- the thing with red hair, are those supposed to be the creature’s feet? Even though she’s wearin’ some kind of outfit that seems to cover her feet, it’s got toes and toenails. What’s goin’ on there?
^ Yeah, there’s something really weird going on there…
And why copy and paste the same TIE so many times?
There is no real reason for Disney to release the OUT, because then they wouldn’t have a carrot to entice people to see Episodes VIII & IX.
There is an entire generation of people under 30 who have never seen the originals or even remember them; so the SE is just how it always was and will be.
Your second sentence negates the first.
I love this BTS pic. It’s canon to me.
The Rebellion runs on coffee. And on British cars?
And on imagination, which you need more of. 😉
If we can pretend that the DS’s laser firing equipment isn’t TV station controls, I’m sure we can turn that headlight into anything.

Vader and Boba are smiling. You can’t see their faces, but just look at em! 😄
I think IG-88 just got pranked.
I’ll eat my hat if it happens. Feel free to hold me to that.
Is it a fedora?
He was excellent as Tor Johnson in Ed Wood.
Warb, it’s pretty common for people to go on dates to find out if they have any romantic interest.
I find it’s more common that the date is a test to see if they aren’t interested. If there was no interest, the date would have been denied. If the date was accepted, you’re already on a good path.
I thought it was Harry.
Correct!
You can’t update thread titles since the update.
An admin can do this.
Unless something has changed recently, that’s not true.
It must’ve been magic then! I believe!
The bitchy side of geeks is apparent in all fractions of all fandoms. It’s not exclusive to Star Wars nor is the SW fandom any worse than others. The suppression of the OUT adds an exclusive bit of anger/frustration in the SW fandom, but other than that topic, it’s no different than any other franchise with a large following.
It’s a bummer that he has to deal with so many weirdos and jerks on twitter, but I don’t get this smug indifference about the original version. It’s not a good look for people who (either as fans, or working at LFL, or blogging about their particular Star Wars-related fetishes) are heavily invested in all the other goofy details of that world.
That’s typical of his segment of the fandom. People who love the “saga” (if you can call it that) tend to be the most rude regarding the OOT.
EDIT: Just to be clear I still don’t believe that he knows what he’s talking about.
Gee, it’s almost as if when you’re rude and condescending to peopleabout things THEY like (in this case, the Prequels and the SE) they may be rude and condescending about things YOU like (the OOT).
The OOT goes way beyond “things we like” to “things that were stolen from us.”
using big words that make you sound smart such as “objectively wrong”.
Actual Literal Laugh Out Loud.
…but even the Extended Mall Hours cut (at 155 mins) is still missing a load of the early part of the movie.
I’m not sure what you’re getting at. The pie fight is in every version of the film. Except my edit.
Yesterday I was standing in a long line of people and noticed a girl was reading the novelization of A Dogs Purpose. I think the ad’s for that are unintentionally hilarious and can’t believe the movie was even made. That there’s also a novelization and somebody is choosing to read it leaves me boggled.
JEDIT: Looks like the movie was based on the book. All I said still stands though.
I was looking over an issue of National Geographic and was suddenly swept back to about four or five years old.
I’m callin’ bullshit.
That’s what made me figure they blowed up the bread planet. Isn’t it like the capital or something? What was the planet they did blow up and why was it important? And was this pointed out in the movie? I feel like I must have missed something.
Not a big deal either way, just curious.
So I read that the city planet that got blowed up wasn’t Coursant* (however it’s spelled)? Then what was it and how were we supposed to know? I only saw the film once, but I just assumed that it was the big city planet we’ve already seen, not a new one that hasn’t been mentioned. I actually found that whole scene confusing. Who were those people? Why did they choose those planets? Did I miss the part where they pointed out the whos, whats and whys?
