The Unofficial Complete REVISITED SAGA Ideas and Random Discussion Thread

Nice to hear some response. This is something I’ve wanted to see happen since I was pretty young, but nobody ever seems to think it’s anything worth thinking about, much less doing. Glad to see others agreeing with me!

Revisited does have an accurate flight suit…

Oh man… If any of my circuits or gears will help, I’ll gladly donate them.
If I could change only one thing about the theatrical version, this would be it.

I’m sure I’ve brought this up before, and I think I’m probably the only one concerned about this at all, but here I go again.
Is there any feasible way to put Luke in his flight suit during the DS briefing in ANH?
If it could happen, it would make it seem as if a short time has passed since our heroes arrived on Yavin and the Rebels have had some time to analyze the plans and Luke has had some time to prepare. And it would look very cool.
But would this even be a thing someone could do? Is it even something to hope for someday? Is it a dumb idea that nobody likes?

I tend to agree that Leia being at this battle is bad. It would be better if the plans were handed over to her in some different location. Anyway it is not a major issue.

I agree. It’s not that big of a deal, but I’d rather they beamed the plans to her ship, which was a further distance away, then, aboard her ship, someone downloads the plans to disc and hands them to Leia. Wouldn’t be a bad place to end the film IMO. Though I do like that Vader scene.
Still looking forward to seeing this a second time.

Yeah, I really don’t know anything for sure.
After a quick look at the IMDb page, it says this:

The movie begins in 1979, with a brief flashback establishing the long and tragic history of criminal activity within, and by, the Corleone family.

I’ve only see Part 3 twice, so I don’t remember if there’s another flashback after the one that sums up the events of 1 & 2…

JEDIT: Just found this description on a youtube video of the flashback:

This alternate opening is not featured in any of the releases. It includes a montage of clips from the past two movies and a voice over by Al Pacino

Looks like it’s just on the AMC version, but was put together with Al’s VO when the film was originally made and it was decided to cut it.
Like I said, I’ve only seen Part 3 twice. Once on VHS, once years ago on AMC. That accounts for the confused memories.
It’s weird that AMC uses it though. They only show these movies as a marathon, so who needs the catching up? (I watched Parts 1 & 2 twice over the weekend, but skipped 3 both times)

I just saw Godfather 3 other day on AMC. It had an alternate beginning. The beginning showed scenes from the other 2 movies, sort of letting the viewer know what happened so far. I have the DVD and Blu ray of the movie, that is not the beginning of the movie on the discs. It also not the alternate beginning included withe the extras on the disc. Was this something AMC created or what? Anyone know anything about this?

It was there on VHS, IIRC. It was possibly chopped from the DVD release because the buyer probably has the other two. Flashback openings were a regular thing before home video became popular. The Rocky series, for instance.

How to Marry a Millionaire (1953)
A comedy about 3 gold diggers who rent an apartment together, in New York, trying to bag them some Tycoons. It doesn’t all go according to plan, and realise there’s more too it than money… love!
It was a funny movie, but very predictable.

Was it one of those things that it was predictable because it’s the movie the cliches are reusing?

^ Having seen the movie as well, I’ll chime in to say: No, not really. It’s a theme as old as dirt. Charming movie, but you know what you’re getting into and it doesn’t add any twist or surprises. But, again, fun and full of charm.
