I could make Spanish subtitles if you send me a reference version š
Thank you, youāre actually the 2nd person to offer to make Spanish subs today! Iāll PM you both!
what are the differences not in Legendary other then the Palpatine hints added (which I like the idea of), Leias space walk removal and Rose doesnāt save Finn? š¤
These two edits have been morphing into each other more and more with each version, but I think youāve hit all of the major changes in your list. The rest are small changes, often revolving around humor. For example, our versions of the Hux prank call is different: mine is longer, and has a little more of the humor, but still removes the āmamaā joke. Hal also removed Lukeās quip about Jakku being āpretty much nowhereā and Roseās āYou tooā after Finn says mtfbwy. I kept those in. I also kept the line about Reyās parents being buried in the Jakku desert, because I didnāt feel like it was wrong necessarily, it was just what Snoke had showed Kylo-Ren. Thereās a few other small changes like that, but thatās basically it!
Impressive, Most Impressive.
Yeah, it blows my mind that he was able to animate the models of the people in such a lifelike way. And his lighting of the scenes is insane.

Get that baby up on the drive-in!
Congrats Hal!
Iām not 100% sure this is the right place to post this, but I wanted to share something my friend made for fun. Heās a VFX artist, and during the pandemic, he went deep into Cinema4D, using 3D models, texturing and a little bit of drone footage of Fiji (that he took). Other than the drone footage, everything in this trailer was generated in his computer!
sonofabinadi, thanks so much for your feedback, Iām so glad you enjoyed it!

There are closed captions, but only in English unfortunately. If someone wanted to make subtitles in other languages I could share them out, though (and provide the English SRT files for reference).
FlaimeDragon, pm sent.
TestingOutTheTest, we did have discussion I believe about this. To me, it shows Reyās hubris in assuming Luke doesnāt understand Chewie. I wouldāve prefer Luke respond snarkily, āI know what he said.ā But otherwise I donāt have a problem with the line.
As for the BB-8 whackāa-mole, it just simply never bothered me. Everyone has their line for humor, and this one didnāt cross mine.

Hal, I think that music pass sounds good! Another thing you could do to smooth it even more might be to bring up the tie fighter sound fx. Theyāre flying pretty fast and close to the camera so they could boom a little?!
I think if itās required that sheās related to someone we know, Palpatine was the best choice. Itās supported by what weād already seen, and her dark side connection at least gives her an internal struggle and retains the message of choosing your identity. Iām glad it didnāt end up being someone like Obi-Wan, because I think that would have landed with a big āSo what?ā
Otherwise, I think the Rey Nobody idea introduced in TLJ was a great twist, and makes force using more about worthiness and character than about bloodline. It also has that ratatouille thing of, āNot everyone can become a great cook, but a great cook can come from anywhere.ā Ratatouille? anyone?

What I took out of RoS which I really liked the idea of was how it explained Palpatines āstike me downā lines both in RoS and return of the jedi. I like to think that meant that if Luke struck him down in return of the jedi with anger he would of possessed Luke the same way Rey would of been possessed if she stuck him down in RoS through the sith ritual.
This is actually something I donāt like about TRoS. The literal nature of a possible spirit transfer being the real motivation behind one of the crucial moments of the original trilogy cheapens the moral implications for me. In Return of the Jedi, I always thought Palpatine was saying that anger and hatred were corrupting and destructive forces, and that even if Palpatine were to die, he still would have won by corrupting Luke. I realize that doesnāt literally make a ton of sense given Palpatineās ambition and ruling an empire, but it makes sense in the context of the morality tale that the original trilogy was. This added motivation means thereās a reason for Luke to resist temptation other than showing poise and maturity in the face of evil.
MMP, congrats on your project! Echoing Hal, you have an interesting take and itās great to see another contribution on the forum!
Hey Hal, thatās rough. Iām so sorry. Did the video stream get exported? Iāll PM you.
I just got it to boot up. I didnāt do a damn thing different from what Iāve been doing all morning.
Whoa, that was an emotional roller-coaster catching up on this thread today. Phew, glad youāre back up, Hal! Let me know if you need anything!
