Help: looking for... Star Trek 1 to 6 - HDTV, non DNR versions...
Time

Technically even the BD is NOT the theatrical cut. it has redone the closing credits :-) At least according to an online article, the version with which I grew up was the VHS version.

So there should be :

- theatrical version (not released)

- VHS version (new scenes added, you guys already mentioned which they are)

- DVD version (I only have the 2DVD collector's edition, but from what I've heard the 1DVD version should have the same cut) - identical to the VHS version, but when Spock interrogates Valeris some closeups replaced wideangle shots of mainly Shatner, and the faces of the traitors are shown, but the length is NOT affected (I know because the VHS dub perfectly matched with my DVD :-) )

- BluRay version - "almost" identical to the theatrical version, but has some changes in the closing credits (I have nothing for comparing it so I don't know if it's true or not)

EDIT : According to memory-alpha.org :

The end credits had a different format for the theatrical version. It featured the Starfleet Insignia at the top and the screen split between a white background and dark lettering and the other side with a dark background with white lettering.

Are the official Blurays the theatrical versions or the "special editions" ? Are the WoWoW broadcasts still necessary ?

I think there is a slight color grading difference between them, other than that, I think they are the same...maybe the BD was de-grained?

Yep the BD has DNR on the effects shots

The Bluray removed the snake reflection but the other "tweaks" are gone.

How much DNR is on the effects shots? I saw the IMAX version and there was almost no DNR, I only noticed a bit of frozen grain in the first globe/map scene. I've been thinking of picking up Raiders soon and I hate DNR.

So ... I am NOT crazy ? Thanks :-) I could swear I could see glass between a snake and Indy for many years but I couldn't find it on the Bluray version :-) The DNR is bad, but not THAT bad. I would call it "tolerable"

Maybe some flaw in the transferring process then? Because I will not believe for a second that the original color timing could have been this pink.

Well this really reminds me on Star Trek TNG season 1. They have also had some problem with the telecine process, and the video transfer (done basically a few days after they filmed the footage on 35mm) was extremely pink
