Just heard this as well and I’m really sorry to hear about his passing, especially so soon. I hadn’t heard if he and his wife had children or not. Being a young widow won’t be easy either way. His passing was very quick since the story last week that he had seen it.

I’m glad they worked it out so he could see TFA early.

I’m so glad this man got to see the film before he passed. I hope he enjoyed it. May he R.I.P.

Also the more I see Kylo’s lightsaber in action, the more I’m warming up to it. I know it’s technically a gimmick, but I like that it’s something completely different from what we’ve seen before. The JP trailer looks to be 2.35:1 ratio compared to the US one which seems to be 2.40:1

Sweet, I thought the JP looked less green and more blue, especially in the snow battle scenes.

I remember hearing that 80,000 (or was it only 20,000?) signatures figure being tossed about, but maybe that was just over a certain amount of time after the petition’s creation in order to emphasize the response it got. I’d have to go back and watch Jay’s interview in The People vs George Lucas, if it’s still up on Netflix.

It may very well have gotten to ten million by May of 2006. Maybe it even kept growing after that. After all, we never actually got the unaltered trilogy on dvd in actual dvd quality. Although by that point the HD disc formats were out and that was the next frontier.

When was the petition created anyway? 2002?

Is it just me or does this trailer have less of Green shift in it then we’ve seen in previous trailers. Take a look at about 1:25 the snow looks a little more blue instead of Green.

I seem to recall some old interview where Mark Hamill said that the last SW film would have a weird and 2001-esque ending. So I guess this is appropriate?

No I’m pretty sure I read it online, and it was only some five-ish years ago, but even then it was a reference to an older interview (I think from the late 80’s or early 90’s).

I seem to remember that being on the 2004 Bonus DVD somewhere (maybe Empire of Dreams), but I could be wrong.

I’ve missed you all too. I’ve have been on this site a few times within the last year. I’ve just never “singed” (I know “signed”) in, but, since the update it has been easier to sign in.

I either seen it on here or another website, but apparently there were millions (like 10 million) signatures before Lucas and Lucas Film decided to give us the 2006 bonus DVD (GOUT). But I can’t remember.

Well it looks like the petition has officially been taken down. I would like to thank everyone for the laughs, and good times on this topic. Hopefully in the future we won’t need to update this again (of course this is an off-topic thread, XD) because another petition has been created, and that the restored official OUT will be sitting on our shelves. Yes I know about the “rumors” about the OUT 4k.
