I have indeed - and thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Didn't even have to persuade the missus to miss her Coronation St and EastEnders that much on a Monday night

Really like the 'handheld cam' thing for the battle scenes - havn't watched Firefly, so it's pretty new and original angle to go with, for me.

Six and Baltar crack me up - some of the best lines/scenes go to these two, deservedly so too. Great chemistry.

Most innovative and interesting sci-fi show in years.

Luckily us UK'ers have now seen the whole of the 1st series - and what a series it is. Characters that interact well with each other, non-hammy actors, breathtaking scenes in both CGI and quality of acting, intriguing stories - free of technobabble & moralistic and tidy endings, an enemy whose motives are not clear-cut - but VERY menacing, as well as some of the best risque gags that's been on tv for while

Also has a truely great B-story running throughout the entire season - which leads you to all sorts of questions and possibilites.

Hope this series gets a 2nd season - it definately deserves one.

The region 2 dvd for the 1st season is out soon too!

Some cool BSG BBS (1 of which you can ask some of the actors questions, the other has Chief Tyrol as a poster):-

IIRC Spidernap posted a huge worksheet of his differing covers in the dvd cover thread in this forum - not sure if it’s still up - or has gone past it’s bandwidth etc…

a lot of pages to search in that thread too! doh.

Impressive looking dvd - with some great choices.

*** LOTS OF INFO ON HOW THESE DISCS WERE MADE APPEAR ON PAGE 6 OF THIS THREAD ***

Great menus and superb choice of artwork for them too.

Sourced from the 1993 Definitive Collection Laserdiscs (ntsc?) in Letterbox widescreen, with isolated music score option, and some specific dvd covers - nice touches all around.

Many have given so much here - from contributing to posts on these boards so that they stay fresh and interesting, to sharing info, ideas and tips on how to ensure an even superior quality release of the OT on dvd than the previous two standardbearers.

To seemingly question, ridicule and judge the few selfless determined yet generous people that want to ensure the above happens - at cost of exhaustive time, effort and money at the expense of their family & friends - as well as themselves, is simply not on.

These few have given their valued opinions on how best to acheive this goal - should anyone not agree with the content or details of or in the product then surely the information is now available on here so that they can start their own version - without feeling the need to criticise others' efforts, especially when they have no effort of their own to offer.

Hey, Mike has been good enough to come on here and offer and share information on what he is doing, how he is doing it etc.

So much interest in his set that he created a site that even people like me (with no technical expertise or knowledge) can follow and appreciate the difficulties in what Mike, Gonzo, TR47, Zion, Laserman, MBJ and others here are doing.

Mike's site itself has probably seen him slow down on actually working his set - but hey, he's still doing it, all for free.

and now he's getting hassle for it?

I can now understand why some people come here and think we're a bunch right of shitehawks

^ of course, George could of given himself a break and released the cinematic versions with the 2004 version - or earnt a fair few more £££ by releasing them seperately.

oh, and hire a decent Quality Control and PR department too!

As for the art on the front of the dvd boxes - I've seen a lot better here and other cover sites.

Some of these sites are no longer around due to Lucasfilm and other large companies seemingly being too embarrassed by what fans with some relatively cheap home software can accomplish...

I havn't got the 2004 DVD set, but have obviously seen them on the shop shelves, have to say quite disappointing compared to The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy boxsets out there.
