Despecialized Editions by Harmy : Index of 'How-To's & Help' Threads | Index of 'General Despecialized Threads' | ‘Where are they? And how do I get them?’ mega-merge thread...
Time

Hi and welcome to the site.

The information you seek can be found here mate:-

http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-V27-MKV-IS-OUT-NOW/id/12713

and dahmage is correct - you should own the blu ray or Digital Download releases to have the DeSpecialized Editions:-

‘Remember, as with any fan edit, YOU MAY ONLY DOWNLOAD THIS PROJECT IF YOU ARE A LEGAL OWNER OF THE OFFICIAL SOURCE. For Harmy’s DE project, this means YOU MUST OWN AN OFFICIAL HD RELEASE for each respective film (i.e. Star Wars Episodes IV, V, & VI), such as the official Blu-ray Disks or digital purchase.’

Disney to buy 20th (21st) Century Fox? (Disney has now bought them - 14 Dec '17)

Its happening. Now Disney will have full control over Star Wars, including the rights to Star Wars '77.

Also they can use Galactus and Doctor Doom in the MCU.

Top post - and well in the BBC for making it clear what is - and what is not - involved in this purchase.

Sorry if this has been already posted.

It has mate, in here:-

Though it’s a quality and informative video - and hasn’t been posted in here - so hopefully it’ll give others a heads-up as to it too - no worries, and nice one 😃

I really envy all you with eloquent reactions.

Saw it last night (UK) and I’m still reeling…

The UK isn’t that bad mate - I know things have been tough the last 10 years, and the cuts to everything over the last 7 especially, plus, yes - the weather is always shite… yet UK cinemas are still decent to watch a film in… oh… hang on you’re talking about the film itself…

The Last Jedi : a Fan Edit Ideas thread
Time

Tomo, I hope you don’t mind, mate - I’ve edited the thread title just a little to give a bit more of a heads-up as to there being spoilers inside this thread.

Good luck with it - I’ve just got back from seeing it for the first time - and have a feeling there may be some varied and differing takes / approaches to fan edits of The Last Jedi…

(I did enjoy TLJ - a lot, though I think this film may require a few viewings to take everything in)

I could see a few trims to humour, and a few scenes where the CGI didn’t quite work / sit right (though a 2nd viewing is very likely required).

As stated in the other TLJ Spoiler thread… it’ll be interesting to see what deleted scenes we’ll end up getting (and IF those deleted scenes will be in an initial TLJ home release…)

I enjoyed it - it certainly isn’t a re-hash of what has gone before, and has taken some risks.

Surprisingly there were some CGI issues in a couple of places - though will be interesting to see if they are as noticeable on a 2nd sitting - or when eventually viewed at home.

I liked the humour in the main, the Canto Bight section didn’t quite work for me - though an intriguing end.

There were a couple of convenient plot stretches - like the CGI above - I’ll await a 2nd viewing to see if they are as noticeable.

Episode IX certainly has a lot to do - and wrap up (if it chooses to).

Very much looking forward to seeing TLJ again soon.

I think a few of the Fan Editors on here will be quite busy - given that the film may generate a few differing approaches and attitudes to what they would like to take from, and aim towards with, this movie…

Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!

He’s back now…

‘The reason I originally endorsed Luther Strange (and his numbers went up mightily), is that I said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election. I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!’

I’m just surprised he didn’t delete the previous tweet.

I think we must question his ability to perform such a task as hitting the delete button himself - and not having others do it for him. (I’m surprised his puppetmasters still allow him access to his phone when he is alone… 😉)

Petition to give Warbler his Sigh Back
Time

This is my personal take / opinion on it - and I am not speaking as a mod, nor for other mods…

I like and appreciate Warbler’s opinion on matters - occasionally they can be somewhat different and alternative to the main, and I enjoy that. As I’ve told Warbler in PMs previously, his posts often make for interesting reading.

In the past when Warbler sighs in a sigh-only post… we then wait… and someone meanwhile misinterprets him… or guesses incorrectly at what he’s sighing at… and a few people become uppity and a have a pop… and an argument kicks off… and his original message (or point) is not talked about - or is often just forgotten… Well, how about trying to address that - in a bid to make things a little better - or clearer, to carry on the flow of the conversation?

So, as a mod, I said to him to keep the trademark sigh (it is part of his character on here) - yet also asked he puts his reason/opinion/context etc in his sigh post too.

(With mod’s hat back on) This is just a small part of recent efforts to ask / remind posters to be civil to each other, and treat each with a bit more respect also to try and improve the flow and quality of the conversations.

The hahahaha type-only posts to fellow members have been asked to stop too for this reason.

Also, members rightfully do PM the mods and asking us why is poster ‘x’ allowed to say this when poster ‘y’ and myself are not? ‘You had a go at me about this and haven’t had a go at them?’ etc. Well, the mods have to be, and want to be, and aim to be, equal and fair to all members - so we don’t treat you guys any differently or give you preferential treatment - not that we would anyway 😉

I think (and hope) we are past this occasionally bumpy transitional phase of recent changes - and that the site is better in general for it - let’s not take a backwards step, even one as relatively small and inconsequential a one as this.

The film is out today in many countries (the 13th) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2527336/releaseinfo

So if you don’t want to be spoiled before seeing the movie yourselves… I’d suggest you exit the thread - and also consider giving your social media links a wide berth too… until you have seen the film.

Mate - you have nothing to feel bad about in the slightest. My post is a just a reminder that there are many differing opinions and points of view - and somewhat jokingly that 'Val may about to be informed as to some of them 😃

The old saying… ‘you can’t please all the people all of the time’? should be attached to a mod’s screen before the day starts 😃

Though can we get back to Rogue One, please 😃

And this is why we need spoiler code on this forum! Deploying plot spoiler sensitive sunglasses now!

You’re in the spoiler thread. Perhaps you don’t need sunglasses but reading glasses.

For a film that hasn’t come out to the general public yet it may have been somewhat of a surprise to see that review with the content included (especially your first line of the spoilers you posted).

It may have been better / a little more considerate to have stated that you have seen film beforehand - then left a fair large blank space between that and the start of your spoilers - to give fellow members a choice.

It’s…a…spoilers…thread.

I didn’t realize its inconsiderate to post spoilers in the spoilers thread.

Lose… the… attitude… soft… lad…

A little heads-up that you had seen the film ahead of it’s general release date - and a few blank spaces between - to give people a choice / option to read it or not - wouldn’t have gone amiss.

That is all. Thank you.
