Whatever happened to <whatshisface>?

I had no idea the scale of Emojigeddon. Look carefully at that post, oojason. It’s an italicized smiley. I’m getting back in bed. Maybe Tuesday will be better.

An italicised figure emerges on the horizon… It rides a steed of graphical aplomb, and carries a shield of sheer markdown coding… Feast upon it’s beauty. Whisper in reference to it’s majestic italicness amongst the winds of change, and it shall always appear - the beacon arising from the darkness.

Behold the symbol of Emojigeddon. Cry havoc and let italicise the emojis of IT!!!

^ probably best read out aloud in Brian Blessed voice - loudly of course.

Tuesdays should be okay though mate. Sleep well until then.

^ doubleKO has a quality collection of SW posters (much of which is high quality) - containing some John Berkey art:-

&

and this auction site found by doubleKO often has some high quality SW images too:-

also SkyderHouseMafia also has a top collection of SW art (I think there is Berkey art in there too?), here:-

^ Good to see you back here mate - and that life is treating you well too.

Think Bingo has moved to a new city and possibly a new job (he also did a long charity walk thing not so long ago).

Not too sure on Marks - though hope the pair of them are doing well and be back here soon, some quality British humour form the pair of them (I especially miss his count-ing posts in the counting thread 😃 )

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place
Time

The monthly TV package went up again for the 2nd time this year (in the UK) - despite their sports packages losing a fair chunk of football coverage to a new rival (which you now also have to pay extra monthly subscriptions for as well).

Their slogan is ‘believe in better’ - whereas it should read ‘Pay more for less’.

The brighter side is it’ll likely mean less time spent in front a screen - and more walks out and about with the dog 😃

Help: looking for... The Last Jedi Re-Cut, by Sobofilms?
Time

ChainsawAsh said:

I haven’t heard of it. Do you have any links to places (here or otherwise) where it has been talked about? It’s possible that it could have begun to go by a different name at some point; any kind of discussion online about the edit will provide some clues as to what happened with it.

As ChainsawAsh says in the Index thread above, if you can recall the editors’ name on here, or when it was posted, or some of the content/changes made for the Edit, then someone may be able to help you mate.

Are you sure it was posted up on here - and not on one of the other similar themed fan edit sites out there? When putting ‘The Last Jedi recut Sobofilms’ into google there are references to it on FE.org - and also this:-

Either way, good luck with it mate.

Help: looking for... 'Star Wars: The Making of the Myth' documentary
Time

Hi Michael, I imagine many people have downloaded it from youtube and then burned it to a disc themselves.

Though hopefully someone here may be able to point you in the right direction if there is a higher quality version of the documentary out there: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kv_4AV35I2s

Either way, good luck with it mate.

Jay might overreact to certain things, but this post is just proof the same applies to you (if not more). He doesn’t deserve most of what you said.

I mean, to be fair, Jay deleted most of the threads that contained posts of his that would show he might have, in fact, deserved most of what has been said recently, so…

Aye mate, and also removed are the reasons as to why Jay may have felt he (and other mods) had to ask members to up their game, behave civilly, stop acting like children (which most of us have likely acted at one time or another here - me too 😃 ), on several occasions throughout (along with various temp-locks etc) - in the then current politics thread, the previous locked politics thread, and a few other political threads too.

Jay has answered some questions about the issue here - link - in the Feedback Forum.

Personally, I’m intrigued to see how the site goes without the politics threads for a while - other sites have taken similar stances in recent times - yet there are many sites who still do contain political threads for those that wish to discuss issues on the subject.

Current Events. No debates!

How is that not political, and as such, no longer allowed under the new forum rules?

Man is put up in embassy and given asylum (and a home) for years… is told to look after his cat more, clean his room and stop causing them so many issues… then turns around and starts legal action against them for 'violating his rights and freedoms’… is political? (I thought it quite humorous, in a ‘parent tell kids to tidy up, kid sulks / gets annoyed so sues parent’ type scenario).

I think it’s more of a current event story myself (and was posted without comment; people will likely make up their own minds on the situation). Though if Jay and the mods deem otherwise they’ll likely remove it if they see fit to - and I’ll offer my genuine apologies for posting it and breaking the rules (and may be in a spot of bother for doing so) - and we’ll all know more for the future as what not to post / what is acceptable.

A long walk outdoors in the country sure tires out those young pesky and lively nephews (love 'em to bits). A lot better than letting them watch tv or play on tablets all afternoon.

Plus, always good to treat them right at the end of their visit with some sugary sweets - just before they are handed back to their parents 😃
