Just curious, has anyone downloaded the Bonus discs?

OPTIONAL BONUS DISCS (fanedits)

STAR WARS: Adywan’s Star Wars Revisited (DVD5)
THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK: njvc’s Pulp Empire (BD25)
RETURN OF THE JEDI: TMBTM’s War of the Stars Parts I&II (DVD9)

I have the links to everything else but not these for some reason. I’m especially interested in Pulp Empire, I believe that is v2 and I only have v1 right now.

I forgot to ask, but when will this be officaly ready, sometime in the next few weeks?

We are in stages of discussing different ideas so it’s an indefinite time period. If you come up with enough good ideas yourself then it could cut the wait time in half for all we know 😉

Thanks for the update, but I’m no editor, just curious observer and bat fan. I previously sent a pm with some observations to TAF, but nothing too crazy or earth shattering. However, if I think of something truly inspired,I will be sure to pass it along. Cheers…

Did you get it to line up properly on both sides?

haha…that is the $64,000 question. Of course not. What I ended up doing was actually getting a Pixma printer which had a much better alignment than my HP. I was also able to print direct to the discs, which then made the labels I kept screwing up obsolete.

That’s some seriously fantastic stuff, one69chev! What did you print the posters and leaflets on?

Nothing too exotic, HP Glossy presentation paper, 180gm. It has been pretty tough finding materials here in Poland, so I have been doing a lot of trial and error, Amazon and Ebay, and found that this particular paper worked pretty well and didn’t smudge on a the “best” setting.

I plan on up-loading the stuff that I used (posters and such) which isn’t readily available from the O.T. community either today or tomorrow. For me, the toughest thing was deciding on which covers to use, because there are so many awesome ones to choose from. I did use the Manga insides you provided, so thank you for those.

Good evening everyone. Box set materials are finally here and assembled. I had so much extra content, thanks to njvc for compiling everything into one neat package, so I did a Despecialized Box set and a Bonus Materials box set. The film set is housed in a Hobbit Extended Blu-ray box set and comprised of 3 discs per film, in Criterion cases from Casetopia–feature, docs and special features and a printed insert. I used some of ronlim’s box set extras, including mini posters, lobby cards (and sleeves). In addition to ronlim’s posters, I included Propaganda posters by Cat Skaggs and 3 posters by Andy Fairhurst. I also used some of Ralph McQuarrie’s art to create a collection of larger posters based upon his concepts. For the Bonus Materials set, I used an empty box from the Lord of the Rings extended set and the Blu-ray cases, which are expandable for future releases, however I have yet to print of any inserts or extras for that set. I want to thank everyone who had a hand in creating these films and the art that I used to go with them: njvc, ronlim, Frankt, Video Collector, bigjinks and Phildesfr. If I forgot anyone, please forgive me. Also, please forgive the poor picture quality.

The only issue that I have had is with the ROTJ 25gb discs in my PS3: after the main titles are on screen for a while, instead of cycling back around, the disc goes into a black screen/black hole abyss that cannot be escaped except through ejecting the disc and reinserting. It will then play with no problems. This has happened 3 or 4 times.

As a huge fan of the source material, I enjoyed your Revisit cut; thanks for the hard work. If I may add one observation, I felt the cut between Batman’s “abyss” line and the next scene was a bit abrupt, as opposed to the other cuts you made in the film which were much more seamless. Maybe a fade in/out with the video and soundtrack would make the transition less abrupt, but overall, I enjoyed your cut immensely, quite a bit more than the original. Great work.

Sounds interesting. I watched the theatrical version the other night and thought the intro was totally out of sorts with the source material, especially the “relationship” bit. It just felt like lazy story telling to me, a way to fill space. I wish that Azarello had used some mystery or detective angles to flesh out the story or perhaps some insight into Bats relationship with Joker up until that point. I’d like to check out the edit when it becomes available. Thanks…rickster

What type of DVD labels should I use?
Time

Yeah, I would agree 1000% that direct to disc is the best option, but in my case I already had a printer and a wife who said no way to a new one simply so that I could print some discs. So I went the not recommended route and used adhesive. So, if you have no other option and have to use labels, I would recommend Herma.

There are 2 options depending upon your printer…one for inkjet: http://www.herma.co.uk/en/product-catalogue/labels/data-carrier/cd/cd-labels-maxi-a4-inkprint-photo-quality-8885.html

and one for laser: http://www.herma.co.uk/en/product-catalogue/labels/data-carrier/dvd/dvd-labels-a4-superprint-lasercopy-4699.html

There are both super thin, but you CANNOT use the laser ones in an inkjet printer…tried it (my ignorance) and they will not work. So if your only option is labels, then I would recommend these; if you can pick up a Canon Pixma with direct print option, it is a far better way to ensure the longevity of your device and burned discs.

Slight change in pace for the conversation. Anybody have any experience buying from this seller for bluray cases or have another seller they’d reccomend?

http://www.bluraysforeveryone.com/product-p/unknown102231.htm

I would love to eventually put this set in black cases as it looks really nice and would complement what they seem to be doing with the ST packaging. But so far this is the only place I’ve found that offers black, four disc cases. I’m just a little concerned because their site makes them seem a bit… how to put this… unprofessional. I’d rather not get screwed over for trying to get a slightly cooler look.

Of course the final covers will fit any 14mm spine (That seems to pretty much be the standard for 4 disc cases), but I still like the black look.

I recently use Casetopia.com and I am loving their prices and service. I live outside of the U.S. so Criterion wouldn’t ship to me. I got 3 Criterion cases, 3 PS3 cases and 3 standard 3 disc Blu-Ray cases for about $10 usd…I printed my covers out today and the Criterion cases make a big difference in my opinion…
