Star Wars Despecialized Editions - Custom Bluray Set (Released)

They look brilliant Dahmage. I’ll be grabbing those for sure. The details of the ROTJ disks will be available really soon, I’m doing test builds and quality checks at the moment. yet to edit down the commentaries though, so still a way off being ready to upload, but can post the details of the disk itself soon.

One question: The subtitles column looks like it might be in the ‘fold’ area of the leaflet. Would it be worth moving it slightly to the left to avoid that?

Make that two questions… Can you tell me what font you used for the leaflet?

Ok so to complete the set of ESB errors, it has been identified that there is a sync issue for Building Empire on the ESB doco disk. I’ve removed the torrent from the spleen, and will be re-upping asap.

Sincere apologies for my errors and the wasted downloads. I’ll be taking more time on ROTJ to try and ensure the same thing doesn’t happen again.

As far as I can tell, it must have been an Encore burn issue. The source video and audio are the same length and in sync when loaded into PP. Curious.

EDIT: Fixed Doco disk is now seeding (slowly) on the spleen. Will upload to MEGA now too.

…But, with no disrespect to njvc, the quality of the video in the extras is not the selling point of the set, and some of them are already quite compressed.

No disrespect taken. The intention of the set was to have the best quality versions of the DE Trilogy with menus, and with a host of special features as an added bonus. The video/audio fidelity of the extras was not the priority, although I find them all perfectly watchable. The convenience of having them in a set is what I was after, as a fun addition to the main meal.

By the way, while we take a brief break from our regular scheduled programming, I should let everyone know that I am planning to build a 3 disk set for each film with these blurays, with a ‘bonus’ 3rd disk included, featuring a related fan-edit.

Planned set:

SW

  1. Film + Features BD50
  2. Documentaries BD25
  3. Adywan Revisited DVD

ESB

  1. Film + Features BD50
  2. Documentaries BD25
  3. Pulp Empire BD25

ROTJ

  1. Film + Features BD50
  2. Documentaries BD25
  3. War of the Stars (Part I & II) BD25

After I’ve completed the main trilogy set, I’ll get to creating the Pulp Empire and WOTS Blurays. The Adywan DVD is obviously already available.

Lastly, I’m waiting on a friend comedian/podcaster to complete a planned commentary for ROTJ, which he tells me will be done in 2 weeks, so there might be a bit of a wait for the ROTJ set. Will keep the forum updated with progress.

EDIT: Even more lastly, I have now fixed up all those issues with the ESB BD50, plus a few other small fixes:

  • Fixed spelling errors in chapter menu
  • Added DTS-HD-MA audio tracks
  • Fixed up minor formatting issues in the menus
  • Added the Vivaldi teaser trailer
  • Added an improved quality version of the Atari game commerical

This is a tight fit, coming in at 49.66GB! I’ll begin the upload process soon.

Thanks guys. I guess there’s always a silver lining - I only discovered the Vivaldi teaser trailer after I had finished the disk, so now I can add that into the mix as well. I’m just shaving off a small amount of bitrate from some of the longer special features, so it should be unnoticeable in terms of picture quality difference, but it will be great to have the correct audio reinstated.

Speaking of OCD, I’ll also correct some of the line margins on the special features menu, to make sure they all line up in perfect symmetry!

All work and no play makes njvc a dull boy…

Hey njvc - I burned ESB BD25 (Feature Only) to a BluRay and popped it in my player, and was flummoxed why the DTS-HD tracks weren’t showing up properly on my receiver. I went through all my player and receiver settings, and everything seemed normal. I even put my SW disk in the verify, and it showed up just fine.

Next step, run the disk through MakeMKV to see what the track options are, and sure enough, somehow (at least my copy, from Mega) only the “core” audio tracks got burnt to the iso (and therefore my disk).

Not sure if this was intended, or perhaps a slight oversight? Just wanted to confirm I’m not crazy, and that the ESB BD25 only has the standard DTS, and not the DTS-HD tracks.

Thanks for all the great work you’ve been doing!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I’ve traced the problem back to incorrect settings when I extracted the audio files via MeGUI - HD-DVD/Blu-ray Streams extractor.

I used the default settings (Which are DTS), assuming it would extract the file in its original form. Turns out you have to manually selected DTSHD in the dropdown menu.

I am really sorry to those who already downloaded and burned the disk. This calls for a recall and a rebuild. There are two challenges that this issue poses.

  1. rebuilding the 25GB and 50GB ESB disks with the new audio files
  2. finding an extra 1GB of space to free up to allow for the higher file sizes, which will mean potentially dropping some of the special features/audio options to allow for it.

I’ll take a look and see what I can figure out. Shaving off a little bitrate from some of the longer special features should do the trick.

Again, really sorry for the mistake on my part.

Given my slow upload speeds and that i am currently seeding the 4 SW BDs, I’ll hold off on putting Empire on myspleen for a few days to give the current set a chance to seed strongly first.

So a little patience required for those who want those 2 spelling mistakes fixed.

If you decide not to wait, the MEGA links remain available.

Does anyone have a suggestion for cheap printers to print on Disks? Also, what paper do you all recommend for printing blu ray covers?

I picked up this one.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Canon-PIXMA-iP7260-Color-Inkjet-Wireless-Printer-Duplex-AirPrint-Disk-Printing-/331277072513

Relatively cheap, and does a good job. (this is Australian dollars…), and I bought some quality photo paper to print the covers. They look great, and are nice and sturdy.
