dug up my widevision cards
for star wars.. someone mentioned
it in a thread for reference material..
however, some of them have a strange
tint to them... others aren't bad...
take it for what you will..
i think i'm missing 8 or 9 of them..

Well, the 93 LD master was transferred directly from 1st generation positive film, so this could all be marketing jibber-jabber where in fact the pictures could well have been taken from the same digital LD master files that the GOUT comes from.
@Eric: Sure, I'd like to see some other scans. Although again, mostly just out of curiosity.
i'm posting all my scans in another thread
for those interested. [done]

ok, i'll be uploading it shortly, and
if you want the links, pm me...
one thing i like about the fullscreen
version is the colors are so bright.
it feels like all the shots are during
daylight, (artoo and jawas) etc..
also, interestingly enough, when the
death star timer starts counting down,
the time is cropped, so that it shows the
right number of minutes.. 30 minutes left
shows :30 properly....

no major glitches..
a short one on side 2 when the falcon
leaves the deathstar, this is due to
recapturing the second part of side 2.
used 2 different laserdisc players including
pioneer.
some hum in the sound, but
overall, a very clean capture.
enjoy and share!

negative1, would you consider uploading a clip of the star wars transfer from this set, if there is not multiple demands for the whole upload ?
yeah, give me some time, and i'll upload star wars,
and let you know when it's done. i think i'm missing
part of the 2nd side. i'll have to check on that.
i'll do a request for pm's later on..

Well, I just chose the worst examples, some of Troy's scan look better than that but my point was that if some look like that, how can we be sure that those that look good are actually correct colours. If they have metallic gloss, you probably can't really scan them properly. Prints like that fade just as much, if not more than film, so they could be faded as well. I guess if they're stored properly, they could be quite acurate to what they looked like when they came out. But again, there's no guarantee that their colours were correct then.
no one's should be saying these are correct.
it's just that some could be used as ANOTHER reference
in addition to books, cell scans, film strips, etc.
i'm scanning them all anyways, now that i found them.
none of mine are faded, as i mentioned.

i have 116/120 of them...
what happened to those cards?
mine have been untouched since they came out of
the foil, stored in a binder, in the dark since i first got them..
yes, a lot of them have a weird tint to them.. not sure if
that is due to the glossy covering? here's my samples,
don't be so quick to discard them (some have a
little blurriness, and moire patterns, but thats due
to my scanner) :

That ebay listing has the best photos of the cards I've found so far. No one seems to have ever scanned them in, unfortunately.
yeah, i have those and the binder.
i figured someone would have scanned them by now.
just have to find them... there are scans of the trading cards,
fun to look at:
