The machine I have is an early model, but it still plays well.

I know they're available to download, but for me that kind of defeats the purpose.

Love the comparison pic. :)

thanks,

my player skips like crazy, i had to use a friends.

also i had 2 sets of discs, and they had glitches too.

digitally fixing them made it a lot better to watch.

the thing is you don't gain anything by watching it

from an actual machine. the resolution is the same,

the sound is the same (or mono)... and it wears

out your players needle everytime you play it.

yes, having an 'authentic' experience of watching

the actual discs is cool (and having to swap sides),

etc.. just like with laserdiscs. but for people that

will never have access to them, this is just as good.

also goes for 8mm/16mm versions. i'll never have

a projector, so i'm grateful for puggo preserving

those.

good luck, i hope you find the CED's.

Lucas is just trolling now - THR Interview

As usual, great insights from Zombie. Ultimately when a person amasses enough power that he can isolate himself from his fellows, he will soon lose the ability to relate to them, and vice versa. That is what Peter Green said of Alexander the Great's status following his conquest of the Perisan Empire, but I think it applies equally well to George Lucas.

you can isolate yourself from people just fine,

without having a ton of money. i personally try to stay

as far away from people as possible, and haven't

had to relate to them in the last several years

(or decades).. the only times i do now, are

when i force myself to. (no pun intended)

yeah, i'm pretty deluded/crazy/isolated at times too.

i don't think money is the key factor here. it's an

attitude that all grumpy/cynical/negative people have.

Was George Lucas a trickster the whole time?

George Lucas is not a rational person; irrational people can do something as nonsensical as destroy a film by design because I think the GL has a vendetta against other people. I cannot understand why GL refuses to release/restore the OOT time and time again, has contempt for the very same people that have made him a billionaire many times over, or why he keeps changing the films every couple of years with nonsensical additions. There isn't even a print of the original films in the library of congress anymore, despite ANH and ESB being listed in the national film registry. It seems he wants to let the originals rot.

so, let him do what he wants, and move on.

yeah, its sad, life is tough, and unfair. so be it.

are you going to keep griping about it for the rest of

your life, or are you going to join the people doing

something about it, and see what really can be done

to help preserve and restore it?

your choice. and years later you'll still be here

saying the same thing. its been 6 years and 892

posts so far for you, and not one thing has changed

in you. it's not too late you know. there is a new hope.

hey, i thought you like did once, but not anymore.
