Damn. Excuse me while I go watch my DVDs. š
Damn. Excuse me while I go watch my DVDs. š
I have not seen itā¦ Is it cropped and stretched to fill the TV screen?
Well hopefully it will still be in HDā¦ Still could be an upgrade in the picture department.
I canāt. I feel bad for not being able to because you just made my day.
I found a promo on Comedy Central, but itās pillared box with a border for the channel to promote it. However, it does look like it 16:9. Hope someone can confirm and see if Scrubs got a long awaited remaster š

I would LOVE to see the entire series on blu with all of the music from the original broadcastsā¦ But for now, having the show on CC might be the best we can get.
EDIT: Nevermind! š
I also saw a post/comment thread on Zach Braffās facebook pageā¦ He confirmed that not only will it be airing for this marathon, but it will also become a regular part of Comedy Centralās weekday afternoon lineup.
You should also check out this tweet, then.

Itās definitely not happening. He would know.
Damn! So much for that!

On May 29, Comedy Central will be airing a marathon of Scrubs episodes. (Possibly more after the marathon as well??) The clips of the show used in the promo for the marathon were in widescreen, leading me to believe these episodes will be broadcast that way. Scrubs was one of those shows that was framed for 4:3 broadcast, but protected for the widescreen format. The clips from the promos appeared to have the frames opened up horizontally.
The only seasons currently available in widescreen (as far as I know) are Season 8 and 9.
My question isā¦ Is anyone out there capable of (or even interested in) capturing these episodes? Ordinarily I would not ask, but I donāt have the technological capabilities to do so myself.
This looks fabulous!
Wow, this would be amazing!
Supposedly, h_h got access to Pro DPL decoder software for the latest DeEdās. So ROTJ 2.5 may sound better (or not).
Correct. The most recent 5.1 versions for all three films were created using official Dolby software, so they will sound quite close to what comes out of a Prologic II equipped receiver, aside from the minor modifications I made for the handling of low frequency content.
Actually, Iāve given some thought to using the original Prologic for a possible new version, since the surrounds would then be more fully mono, and front-channel crosstalk greatly reduced. This may not be an improvement to everyoneās ears, but it would be a rather more authentic presentation. Iāve done some tests and I like the way it sounds for these movies quite a lot. Combine that with a new approach to the LFE track and it could turn out very well indeed . . . assuming, of course, that I have the time to do it. With a Disney release of the original versions not looking likely any time soon, my motivation to revisit them seems to once again be on the rise (based as much on my annoyance with them as a company as anything).
Sounds incredible!
Perhaps I have not looked in the right places yetā¦ But I am attempting to track down German LD LPCM audio from the original theatrical releases as a possible audio upgrade from the AC3 track for the Krieg der Sterne despecialized trilogy. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks!
As you can see, even from a rough shot taken with my camera, it looks like morning and no blue cast over the imageā¦
ā¦my camera makes it look brighter, so take that into account as this is by no means a proper screen cap and wonāt convey brightness and contrast as they actually appear on screen.
Even with this photo, the colors look far more natural to me.
captainsolo, your awesome and detailed posts are the very reason I subscribed to this thread.
Very cool! Thanks for all your shares! VHS is certainly how I got into the trilogy to start withā¦ courtesy of the 4:3 Faces box. Still have it! š
In addition to the Faces VHS box, I also have the 4:3 97 SE Boxā¦ ANH and ROTJ WS 97 SE tapesā¦
Will be fun to have digital versions of these!
Wow, great! Looks awesome!
Great job to everyone involved,
colors look very natural.
Iāve got the bluray set on the day it was released but colors were very different.
Where can one get 35mm version? (Iām not registered on myspleen and it looks like you canāt currently sign up for an account).
I wouldnāt mind donating as well to preserve more movies in 35mm format (with all the alterations by the studios, it seems like a worthwhile cause).

Iām curiousā¦ was there ever a 720p release of 2.7 with the āEpisode IVā crawl?
As far as I know, the prequels were never mixed into matrix DTS. TPM was the premiere movie for Dolby EX matrix and DTS later premiered their ES variant.
I donāt think the discrete ES version was ever used theatrically, as it was primarily designed for home video. Neither system really took off and became more of a marketing gimmick for video. Then THX discovered a flaw that caused the ear to miscue sound and necessitated the reconfiguration into 7.1.Iāve tried the prequels in the various decoders and they work fine. The OT being 6.1 is evidence of how lazy they are. The awful DVD mixes were in DD EX and then these were decoded back to 6.1 at the source before being further bastardized.
But AOTC had the DTS-ES logo on the end credits.
And apparently, some of the Studio Ghibli films like Spirited Away were DTS-ES 6.1 in the theatrical release.
And the reason why some of these Ghibli films are 6.1 is because they were theatrically presented in 6.1 and Studio Ghibli usually frowns upon remixing audio for surround and will always use the theatrical audio, even if itās mono or Dolby Stereo. But they are still generous enough to give lossless audio, though.
Also, Spirited Away has one of the best 6.1 mixes ever, probable even beating the Star Wars movies.
The original DVD of Gladiator had DTS-ES 6.1 and sounded excellent.
Sorry to clutter this thread with yet another one of these postsā¦ But where can I acquire this version of the film?
Might I be included as well? Been lurking this thread since the start and have learned an awful lot!
There was also an Episode III Print on ebay last time I looked a few days ago.
The Scream Factory version of The Thing looks and sounds excellent overall! The audio was the main reason why I purchased this releaseā¦ They include a 4.1 DTS-HD MA track of the original Dolby Stereo 6-Track mix.
Work in progress.
Gorgeous!
Was Rush Hour 2 ever available anywhere on blu? Iāve looked high and low but cannot seem to find it!
EDIT: Scratch thatā¦ It seems it was released, but never available in the US.
Bought the Special Edition a few hours ago. It looks like itās same scan used for the Blu-Ray without the matte. The colors are still way off from the screener and the dynamic range is crushed compared to the BB disk. There also seem to be a couple of IMAX shots that arenāt on the disk. Mostly establishing shots (Wayne Enterprises, Fox getting off the copter, the Batsignal going off). At least that I didnāt notice in the five minutes Iāve had with it yet.
The shots for Rises are superb. If it turns out to be quick and easy, I may go ahead and add those shots to the movie for a true IMAX version.
Are you referring to the Trilogy Bonus Disc? I recently purchased this myself, but have not yet gotten around to the Bonus discā¦
After I watched the BB intro I thought the same thing. I just havenāt shelled out for the Collectorās Edition yet.
There was a recent re-release of the the whole trilogyā¦ The Dark Knight Trilogy Special Editionā¦ which does have the complete IMAX sequencesā¦ And itās cheaper than the Collectorās Edition!
