Info: My Logo Preservation Project

Ugh, I hate when they change the logos. MGM is missing from this thread it seems, it looks so stupid to watch a 50 year old film and have it start with a MGM.com logo.

Couldn’t agree more! One problem I have with the 007 blu-rays… Weird seeing Connery films with the mgm.com thing. Even the Brosnan films had changes… removal of the the UA logos… The World Is Not Enough had the MGM 75th anniversary logo changed as well.

Looking amazing Williarob. Let’s hope you eventually find a 35mm print of GoldenEye in excellent condition, which is IMO the worst looking of all the James Bond movies.

$300:

ebay

If you want to buy it, I can arrange to get it scanned, and clean it up a bit.

I would absolutely make another donation to such a project!

Also for those interested who aren’t aware, La La Land records has just released the complete and remastered score for DAD and is limited to 5000. EON has confirmed they are watching the release and if it is successful LLL will do more score releases.

I plan on getting the DAD score though I have a digital copy of the “complete score” from a while back… IMO both releases are worth having as there appear to be a handful of tracks exclusive to each release.

Didn’t know that MGM/LLL were discussing the possibility of more Bond scores… The World Is Not Enough needs an expanded release badly! But so do others too!

Should we let him know about the Partly Despecialized Editions? This rabbit hole goes pretty deep.

There’s a partly Despecialized Edition? Some of the changes in ESB i actually like (Ian McDiarmid as The Emperor, better view of the Wampa, extra windows in Cloud City.) are those on The Spleen?

kk650 has Semi-Specialized versions of each of the films. Yes they are on the Spleen

There is also a scene from Spider Man 2 (the establishing shot outside of the “The Importance Of Being Ernest” auditorium) that was recycled for a handful of “How I Met Your Mother” episodes. Most of the time, the poster of Kirsten Dunst was blurred out a bit. However, in one episode, her face is clearly visible.

Very nice work, kinda cool to see this in comparison to the Despecialized Edition. Tbh, I would really like to see a “mix” between the Despecialized an the Special Editions, as some changes are definitely not that bad.

Check out kk650’s Semi-Specialized series… He did the original trilogy in that fashion.

The Simpsons: Embiggened Edition (* on hiatus *)
Time

I wonder if the 4:3 versions on the FX app are the original broadcast versions without the aforementioned changes… Those are the ones I watch and they seem to be original broadcast versions as many of those streaming episodes still have the “Presented in Dolby Surround” logo at the start of the episode. The audio definitely has a different sound than that of its 16:9 counterpart on the app.
