The Hobbit Rankin/Bass Animated Film..... (Released)
Time

Yeah I think the dialogue would be fairly minimal, and would mostly be cobbled together from other parts of the film and voice impersonators when I'd need words not already in the script. But like I said....that part is still in question....not sure if I'm gonna go down that road.....but I WILL be correcting errors from the film to a certain extent

Yeah, I'm now considering a slightly more ambitious project with this. I'd like to do what I've mentioned so far, adjust color, and redo audio, but I'd now also like to fix a few of the errors in the film, namely the map. I have a few other VERY ambitious ideas to add to this, but thats a big maybe still and I don't know if I'll be able to make it happen....something along the lines of adding in scenes from the book that were absent in the film, such as Beorn's house....but as I said, that part is a BIG maybe.

Right now though, the project is on a bit of a hold. I WILL be getting to it, but I'm currently serving as 3rd unit director for ESB:R, and working on a re-edit of Disney's Sleepy Hollow animated cartoon with live action DVD menus. I am definitely very passionate about this film, and I promise I'll be coming back to this when I can (SHOULD be in the nature of a year or 2 from now)

Wait, the AT-ST's are gone... because of "continuity"?

Then again, it's much more fun to speculate where they came from in the first place. See, when a boy AT-AT and a girl AT-AT love each other very much...

We're not going to see how the big walkers got on the planet. We don't see what happened to all the walkers or how the soldiers get from inside them and then into the base. But this part is intolerable?

Just blow it up! Sheesh. :(

You don't see it showing up from far off like the AT-AT's...you don't see it in the long or wide shots of the battle.....its nowhere except in those 2 closeup shots. Its so much easier to take it out to fix continuity that it would be to put one into all the shots you'd need to put it into, even if you were only going to blow it up when it gets to those closeups.

As a gift for donating, its not for "profit", but I get the point...

So many gray areas and fine lines... especially when attempting to fly under the radar...

Theres nothing grey about this situation. Revisited (being comprised of both Ady's original work, and the copyrighted work of George Lucas) in exchange for money (be it payment, OR donation)....is wrong. Period. The film cannot be traded for any form of personal gain, even if said gain is used to fund the work being done.....it is still an exchange of $ versus something we do not own.

Alright, just saw that the first page verifies that there will be a BD-25 release. A LOT of us don't have BD-Writers at home.

I know that this is a gray area, because of copyright, etc. but...

Is there any chance that Ady or someone in his inner circle could do a complete bluray release, selling copies to people who would like to Donate to RotJ:R?

It could include:

-Actual Bluray Case

-Cover Art (a while back I saw that someone had double-sided covers, Revisited on the outside, original artwork on the inside - that looked amazing!)

-Edit on Lightscribe BluRay Disc (With Disc Art Scribed On)

-Numbered, limited edition card, showing a comparison shot between the official release/Revisited (similar to the screenshot comparisons we've seen)

You could make these available only to people intending to Donate to RotJ:R, who make a donation of $40 or more (to cover cost of supplies and shipping, and make sure that a decent amount still makes it towards the donation)

Just a suggestion/hopeful request.

Revisited is NEVER to be sold for profit. Ever.

Managed to get a copy burned this morning after some help from a co-worker.  Thank you D.  Anywhoo. It plays wonderful.  An amazing work. I can't even really begin to appreciate this undertaking as it should be.  THANK YOU ADYWAN and all those involved!  If any of my circuits or gears will help, I'll gladly donate them.  I wish I had something useful to donate to this project.

Funds to complete the project are still needed. If one wishes, they can donate through the paypal donation button on the right hand side of the official Revisited page. Cheers!

EDIT: Oh and love the Sky Captain avatar!

Is there an official scheme Ady is using for holograms in the revisited saga, will PT holgrams be altered to match the OT or vice versa?

I've got to say that I quite prefer the PT holograms but what do the rest of you folks think?

One of the better "First Posts" I've read, and an issue that I myself had never even thought of. Personally I quite like them when they have a little bit of color in them.....makes them look more degraded, and adds to the idea of a used and broken down universe, as opposed to them just being blue, which kinda feels too perfect and "clean".

Disney's Sleepy Hollow re-edit (* unfinished project *)
Time

Anyone who WOULD be interested in helping out financially can PM me and I can send you my paypal address. The project has currently stalled....but only due to lack of funds. I am 100% commited to finishing this and putting it out there for everyone to enjoy, I just need to scrape together the cash to make it happen.

The area of this project that has driven the cost up is the live action menu's I plan on using for the DVD. They will be done in the same style as the opening of the film itself, no actors, just sets and props, with things moving on their own when they need to....just like the books coming off the shelves in the film.

I have planned several of these menus, and the filming for some of them is already complete. The on location stuff was alot easier to do as nothing needed to be built to shoot the footage, but some of the other menu's will rely heavily on miniatures. The first of these sets is an underground crypt. I have already shot an on location piece in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in NY where the camera pans down into the earth, and the shot will continue with the model, making it look as if the viewer is traveling through the earth to a crypt underground. I currently have about 2/3 of the supplies I need to build the crypt and am buying more as I am able to.

EDIT: Still adding to the list of mistakes and needed changes

The only shot of this particular page i could find online:

http://www.rebelscum.com/2011/SWTBP3.jpg

...gives you a bit of an idea of where the shield generator was meant to be (though I feel that like much of everything else from that battle, it was just kinda thrown into a shot without much concern as to the greater layout of things)

When they made the hoth scene it seems they flung it together regarding AT-AT's footage there is no rhyme nor reason as to their positioning and numbers...

The only thing I can suggest is have distinguishing marks on Veers AT-AT which sort of goes it alone I think... While the other 3 drive the troops back across the ice field....

How many are there? we see 5 at the begining through the binoculars I think? or is it 4....

then 2 bite the dust.... Veers heads for the shield generator then there is a shot of 3 driving the troops across the ice-field that makes 6 but we never see more than 5.

Structurally the whole AT-AT and ground Invasion does not make sense coupled with Vader appearing out of nowhere and not knowing which AT-AT is which... Although I really like the whole battle..... when you break it down it falls apart.

I posted on this already on the wishlist thread... Hope it can be fixed....

However if Veers AT-AT is part of the 3 driving troops away across the Ice-field it is a total of 5

Vader lands in a ship, which is suggested to us through Veers' dialogue......so thats pretty much a non issue for me....but the AT-AT footage is indeed cobbled together with no rhyme or reason it would seem. And thats something I noticed even as a young teen watching the films.

He's actually quite vocal about what he feels the problems with the films are, and always encourages discussion. He doesn't always have the time to answer every question, but he does try (though his internet is currently down and has been for several days now)

Too bad he probably would go completely solo instead of joining the collaborative ROTJ team.  Of course, if he's interested, he's welcome to make use of whatever we've done.

I don't see it as too bad at all.....he's currently working on ESB, which I'm very much looking forward to seeing. I'd hate for him to stop work on that to work on the ROTJ collaboration. And then when he's done ESB:R he's going to start on ROTJ:R. And from what we've seen so far I trust in his abilities and judgement.

And as for going solo.....he's definitely the head of the project, but he does work with a small team of people, helping him acheive some of the more complicated aspects of the project...so I don't think "solo" really applies here.
