That doesn't make sense..... That's like saying, well, we had Jedi in one of the movies, they shouldn't be in another.... That's the same stupid mentality that got us Ewoks instead of wookies in ROTJ.

And haven't you heard the saying that a girl will marry a man like her father... Lots of truth in that... So think about it..... Maybe that's secretly why she was attracted to Han, because he seemed similar to the man who helped shape who she is.

And its a mentality similar to yours that got us the Jedi order as we know it in the prequels, a bunch of superhero types

I'm curious how that works. Now, if I said every character in the prequels should be just like Han Solo, then your comment would be valid. I didn't say that.

Now, I will agree with you to an extent that there were an over abundance of Jedi in one action sequence in the prequels, but to say that they should have been few and far between goes against what was implied in OT. "They were the guardians of peace and justice..." That to me says there were many. Jedi are glorified cops, and you'll need plenty to provide justice across the entire galaxy. Not just 6. How would that work in my town if there were only 6 cops?

Now if you're just simply saying that my mentality is the same that made Jedi superhero types.... Um.... Isn't that what they were supposed to be??? Why have powers if they aren't going to be viewed in that light?

Anyway, please read my posts before you misrepresent me. Thanks.

Off camera, she has given the baby girl to Bail Organa (who also needs to be a more rough and tumble Han Solo type rather than the dull Senator he's written as in the prequels)

no, he should not be like han solo at all, that would ruin the OT

?  Yeah... You know, you're right. He shouldn't be awesome like Han. He should just be..... whatever the hell he was before.... =/   Oh yeah, he was Yoda's friggin' taxi service!

Fish.... Sheesh, man.

I agree. But given that Vader's reveal at the end of Empire, and the conversation that he and Luke have in Jedi, it would be rather difficult to write the prequels without it spoiling the reveal. You would still have to establish Anakin as a character, in order for the reveal to mean anything. It might have worked had it been written that way, but personally I agree with what Lucas did, which was write it for an audience that already knew what happens later. It wouldn't have made sense to do it any other way.

A few decades down the line if people come to them totally new, it might have worked better had they been written how you suggest, but you can't write things in that way. You have to write for the people who are going to see it on release. And we all knew who Anakin Skywalker was.

This might be true if it weren't for the simple number system in place for the films. By how this reads the only appropriate way of watching the saga is watching it 4-6 and then 1-3, but the numbers screw that up... Lucas placed numbers to indicate what ORDER they are in. In other the words we were intended to watch them 1-6.

So, if that's the case, the secret becomes important again. Vital in fact.

Yeah, but if you remove the idea that troops are clones, then who do you have left to call clones? If it weren't called the clone wars, I would say just remove ever reference to clones.. Because honestly, the clone thing is stupid. It's just a tool in these movies. It's not even what the war is about which always confused me. I always thought the war was fought because and for clones.

Not sure that is fixable in what we have now... Since I've seen the RLM review, it seems harder and harder to fix these turds.
