I read the description of his Star Trek 1 edit, it sounds interesting. I'd love to see some clips of how he pulls off the "all new shots" to see if they would take me out of the film.

Alas, I chose the wrong side by joining here.

EDIT: Found his trailers on YouTube. They're pretty well put together. I don't think the 2D cutouts of the Klingon ships work though. Oh well.

Again, the guy has talent. He really does. Anti-matter could be really great. He just can't handle criticism. If I say something negative it's because I've already given him the benefit of the doubt. I really wish he would mature up and become apart of an actual fan-editing community, that when you're respectful towards, you can learn so much. I know I have. At the end of the day, it's really a shame.

Yeah, I'm personally done with the guy. Still never got a straight answer as to why I was banned.

It's a shame. I know he thought I was out to get him, but I wasn't. If he wasn't the way he is, digital-fanedits could be another wonderful source to fanedits. Instead he pulls a George and tries to keep all his toys to himself.

I downloaded all of Anti-Matter's edit and plan on watching them.

To be fair, his Sunrise and Sunsets edit does sound kind of interesting: http://digital-fanedits.com/index.php/Details/Fan-Editor-Index/Anti-Matter/Sunrise-and-Sunsets.html

Yeah, it's a shame that he has to be the way he is. He is talented, and has enormous potential. If only he could take criticism.

The Empire Strikes Back: Renascent (* unfinished project *)
Time

This confused me:

ESB

Cut all Grievous in hanger crap.

Show the exteriors

Cut R2 humour.

Cut dialogue about how they get caught – Anakin says “R2 will be along shortly)

Spring the trap instantly

Cut droid screaming

Make security droids voices lower

Remove Greivous’s dialogue as he escapes.

You say ESB without telling us if it begins where it typically does, or when in ESB when it goes back to ROTS. Maybe I'm reading it wrong? And there were a couple of instances of this. Regardless, good luck on the edit!

Yeah Monroville & Darth_Neznarf, the foot could be made larger and create more damage, I just used Savmagoett's calculation as a rough guide for how much to scale it up.....It's up to Ady now If he thinks its worth it

I like it. I know its not anywhere near finished but i see you came across the same problem i did when i was attempting it; the foot on screen right just disappears into nowhere. The problem with making things bigger is making the surrounding things react correctly with them. If you want to continue with that shot Jaitea then i would be more than happy to use it if that's ok, full credit going to you of course.

There is something i have been meaning to ask you Jaitea, are you any good with creating CG terrain? There is still a huge problem i haven't been able to overcome and its the Hoth battle cockpit shots. The AT-AT's need replacing especially when there is not only the incorrect number of AT-AT's seen but also that some of them are jumping all over the place, not correctly joined on the surface and always standing still. Now a few years back someone was working on new terrain that i could use, but then just disappeared and stopped answering my emails. I really do still need something like this done. Here is one of his tests:

http://youtu.be/wseA4UHgS8Y

That was made with VUE software. That's some great software... And actually not at all hard to use. I would attempt it if I had the space on my PC to go for it. But it should be reasonably easy for someone to do.

EatonB's Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Re-Write
Time

While I understand this is for conversation, are you set in your cast. While I love Ewan McGregor, I would like someone who looks a bit older. Maybe Jude Law who in my opinion looks very Obi-Wanish.... And in my prequel re-write idea I had Bail Organa as a reluctant prince/treasure seeker. He would be the Han Solo type character. Always had it in my mind that Han was a lot like Bail was in his younger years... You know what they say, a girl will marry someone like her father. =)  Just food for thought

Coming in a bit late on this. Love your treatment. My only issue is Yoda. I love that he was more of a myth/legend in the story and was hoping it would stay that way. Don't think you show him at all. That was another thing about ESB that was ignored by Lucas.. The audience was supposed to be surprised when the little Muppet wound up being the legendary Yoda. You lose that if you have him in the prequels. Hope that makes sense. Otherwise, and even if Yoda was left in, still a far greater film idea. Good work! Post Ep. 2! =)

That doesnt prove anything but thanks for the joke ;) (lame poster) It doesnt have to do with realism but with lens behaviour. in defence that most of us like the "original look".

We all know that ady is well awared of cinematography and how a lens works.

Unless he wants to create his own sureal revisited look that fits to his tastes then im ok.

Easy man. Just messing with ya. Wasn't trying to prove anything. And it is a lame poster. Why do you think I picked it? =)

Sure why not. But if this just to justify the look of the shot, it just doenst fit.

While its an expressive art, finding ways of showing realistic as possible the shots-the ending result and not finding excuses for hiding errors and fake looks.

If the glass is tinted then it has to have some short of tint. Visually you have to show things when you cant or dont need to explain them.

Star Wars: REALISM PERSONIFIED!

Sorry, Angel. Couldn't resist. ;)

I believe in the last pic that ady posted there is a small room for improvement in terms of better light conditions.

In terms of exposure the window should have brighter sky(as if the correct exposure behaviour can be seen in the original pic with the blown out central window section.

The"bloom" setting isnt unknown when the light wraps arround darker objects(see the boy). Plus its a common fact in the blury lenses of ESB.

The effect that ady did is very good but in my opinion looks like an HDR(not the extreme effects that we mostly see, but the shadows and the highlights have the same amount of detail in terms of exposure)

Even in night-evening times the camera cant balance the interior and the exterior exposure.

Most of the times interior shoots have the sky blown up-white and the details faded.

The masks i can assume is already there so if any adjustment to the lightning is possible. Adding subtle bloom is an option for better lens effects.

(extra note: Notice how the light burns the pixels of a darker object creating a magenta-blue sometimes red chromatic aberration. I would love to see these film effects on the new "clean" shots that adywan created)

-Angel

I see what you're saying Angel, but my opinion is if Ady can make this shot more like how the human eye would react rather than a camera, the better it is.
