Finished War and Peace.
Do you mean War, What Is It Good For?
Dammit Elaine, that was just a joke!

Well I wouldn’t say that, but I’m (debateably?) post-millenial so idk how much that counts.
Oh, I wasn’t trying to say that’s what you were doing at all. I was trying to be light and flippant but it may not have come across that way.
But since I brought it up, I’m demisexual.
It’s not weird at all, I’m the same way.
Haha there’s no way (if they even were to include her) that they’d reveal her name in a casting call.
I think a lot of Star Wars fans are overestimating what people even within the fanbase know. I had no idea that Mara is even a name of significance. It’s not like they revealed a resurrected Palpatine in the casting call.
I don’t see how anyone could say that that’s the lowest point of the prequels. Anakin hates the Jedi too so I can see why he isn’t offended. The main problem with it is that Anakin acts shocked at the reveal later.
I’m really glad Donald Trump isn’t in that photo. I wish the Carters were there though.
I thought he was a myth.
LOL! He’s real, all of him.
Robert E. Lee is comparable to someone like Cecil Rhodes who is both impressive and problematic at the same time.
I have. Way to be insensitive.
Remember darth_ender?
The new private thread icon looks like a eyeball getting slashed and it creeps me out.
Un Chien Andalou!
You beat me to this reference.
Visually I didn’t like TFA very much. It looked more like the prequels than it did the OT, except the visual effects were just better. R1 looked more like the OT than TFA did.
That may not be possible depending on how much research is expected of him.
To be fair, I’m not opposed to memorializing Confederate soldiers since a lot of them died and I’m sure plenty were decent family men. Japan and Germany do the same thing with their war dead from WWII, but I’m sure Alabama is actually memorializing the Confederacy so, as you said, “Fuck That Shit.”
That doesn’t surprise me at all.

One of the few flawless movies of the past decade in my humble opinion.
What about Killers?
I love that all the imperials are running for their life. After all, they’re just people doing their jobs. It’s not like they’re a bunch of clones or anything. 😉
I don’t understand the complaint that Rogue One is a story that shouldn’t have been told or didn’t need to be told. I think there’s good potential for a prequel to Star Wars where the whole point is to get rid of the Death Star plans rather than track them down.
If your sources are from here (meaning this website forum) then I’m not surprised that your professor doesn’t like them. He probably wants real articles and opinions from credible individuals rather than anonymous insane people like me that post on an obscure online forum.
Yeah, I agree with that. Also, I don’t get why people hate the death of Boba Fett so much. I don’t care and if anything Boba Fett shouldn’t have even been in ROTJ. He served his purpose in Empire and that’s all we needed from him. I also hate the name “Boba Fett.” It was far more exciting to just refer to him as the “Bounty Hunter.”
No. Both are bland and pointless and devoid of any heart and soul. They’re full of completely uncompelling characters and exist purely to cash in on names and imagery associated with a much better film (Star Wars).
Yeah I don’t see a single thing you said I agreed with, but I’m sure there’s no reason to continue.
I just don’t appreciate being called a delusional troll in my own thread.
And, since this has been a topic of conversation lately, they both have terrible and pointless CGI. Specifically I’m talking about the CGI Grand Moff Tarkin:

They’re very similar films, actually.
A lot of the humor in TFA was too blunt. “The garbage will do!” and lines like that felt very weak and kind of juvenile and uncreative.
I loved that line. Shrug.
It was very spelled out, which is not my type of joke.
I don’t even know what this means.
It’s an in your face and overly simplistic setup and payoff. “That ship is garbage!” [other ship immediately gets blown up] “The garbage will do!” I don’t find that shit funny. I like more conversational humor that doesn’t feel scripted.
I hate the exhaust port complaint. People say that the Empire should’ve just covered it up, but that defeats the purpose of an exhaust port! It’s established that the port is tiny and apparently only someone with extreme propensity for the force can even hit it. Also, the port wasn’t what destroyed the Death Star. It was a chain reaction explosion caused by a torpedo making it all the way down the port and into the center of the space station. It isn’t like the exhaust port was a self-destruct button.
This is how you do this thread right.
I’m glad that after four years on this forum I finally did something right!
