Hell has a much better jukebox than heaven.
Hell has a much better jukebox than heaven.
If you take my posts at face value rather than skittering around like I’m going to trap you somehow, confusion will disappear.
That actually makes it more confusing. I took your posts at face value and that’s how I came to the conclusion that you’re fishing for a specific response with most of them.
Would it somehow seem less tricky if I phrased my post to Frink as, “what does that have to do with anything?” Or is that kind of response tricky?
That would’ve made a lot more sense, actually. It would feel like less of a “gotchya.”
Sometimes I may be seeking to make a point and maybe get someone to see a different perspective (oh, the horror). But I think my posts are straightforward. Often Frink seems to think I’m saying something I’m not and his disbelief is weird.
It isn’t that you’re trying to get people to see a different perspective, it’s that you (seem to be) trying to get people to say something or allude to something so that you can then point out their contradictions or their hypocrisy. I don’t know what you’re up to, but it seems like it’s something like that.
Here it was really just a reaction to Frink pulling out the, “but what about these guys I don’t like,” card.
I don’t think it was a card. I’d hate to presume to speak for someone else, but I doubt that Frink feels so strongly about the New York AG that he felt the need to redirect the attention toward someone else.
Stop ruining the discussion in this thread.
Like one big shark or lots of smaller sharks?
Reported.
Also I’ve never seen a minute of it.
Me neither.
This show jumped more sharks than the Fonz ever did.
What a horrible movie this was!
I feel like all of your posts are mind games trying to lead the person you’re talking to into saying something so that you can make some kind of point, but I never get it.
Mrebo, I genuinely never have any idea what you’re trying to get at.
It’s hard to get more hypocritical than a religious person going against the theoretical word of God.
Sure glad we aren’t talking about those bad Democrats anymore!
I talked bad about Obama a few posts ago.
Exactly.
I don’t care what your opinions are. Like I said, I don’t value other people’s opinions almost 99% of the time. I just don’t get why I sometimes get mocked for that position opinion when other people, like you, behave the same way. I’m not criticizing you, I’m just pointing out that I admit to thinking the way most people think.
Evangelical moralizers that do what they condemn are more hypocritical than liberal politicians that do what they condemn.
Exactly, you disregard almost all other opinions. I don’t mind, I do the same thing, I just admit that I do it and don’t care. I don’t understand why people have given me shit for that in the past.
Frink does this a lot. He points to extremely popular things that are widely enjoyed and then acts like they’re totally hated and questions why anyone likes them. It’s a similar tactic used by Trump supporters. I don’t really mind, but it makes me wonder why people get so turned off when I admit that I don’t usually respect or believe other people’s opinions because pretty everybody feels that way, except I just admit it. I would think that honesty would be more respectable but I guess not. I can’t comprehend how normal people interpret things.
Some of it is just about random mundane stuff yes. And it’s great. But a good deal of it is just the characters being horrible people. Not that I’m complaining it’s a great show.
That’s one of the main reasons why it was good. Most popular sitcoms then, like the Cosby Show, were full of more-or-less perfect people that seemed to exist solely to moralize to us lesser folk.
He’s moderately socially liberal, but in terms of everything else, he isn’t at all. He deported more people than Bush, he wiretapped more people than Bush, he preserved the Bush tax cuts, he’s as corporate as can be, and he was as horrible to whistleblowers as anyone else.
Obama was never a liberal. He’s center-right. That’s why he endorsed Feinstein.

This is what I was thinking about.
49%?
It’s a good line.
I know, but there was some attitude behind it.
Yeah I can see that, most people are dishonest lying self centered sacks of shit. Now you’ve made me sound like mfm, you jerk.
What? You agree that I’m right on that so why be worried about sounding like me?
I find Seinfeld very relatable and it’s the funniest show ever, but Roseanne is still my favorite because of the reasons I said above.
Love it.
Other than my parents not being married and me having a lot more siblings and not a constant home, Roseanne was the closest TV family to my upbringing and it was so fucking funny and so goddamn relatable. I think it’s time for me to rewatch it again!
