What on Earth is weird about it? He asked for clarification of which family members. I was already discussing that subject, why is me clarifying that I mean “not just with my parents” weird?

I think it’s the ‘just’ that comes off as weird. As if it should be obvious that it’s less awkward to watch a sex scene with one’s little sister than their parents.

If she’s five, then it obviously would be. I figured that’d go without saying.

I agree with those saying nudity can be artistically important, and I think it shouldn’t be censored. I will also say that I have trouble watching movies with explicit nudity with family members, and the same goes for sex scenes (that may or may not contain nudity in frame). That sort of stuff just makes me immensely uncomfortable around others. It might be a subconscious desire for personal approval, but I really can’t tell.

Even just with your siblings?

Of course not, but I’ve been taken out of a movie when they’re obviously trying to cut around nudity to the point of it looking terrible and stupid.

This is pretty much my feelings about it. If the character is supposed to be naked, and there’s a good reason for it (vulnerability, innocence, etc.) then cutting around it just feels prudish and unnatural.

I find it more distracting than unnecessary nudity.

I don’t know what movies you guys are watching, but there isn’t a lack of male nudity, partial or otherwise, in cinema.

What on earth are you talking about?

I mean are you talking about the occasional ass shot? There’s still far more female ass shots, and then don’t even get me started on frontal nudity. How many dicks have you seen recently?

A fair amount. In terms of frontal nudity, there’s definitely more shirtless males than females.

Shirtless males doesn’t count.

Why?

Because the society we live in considers a shirtless female nude and a shirtless male not.

The society we live in is stupid.

You ignored the rest of my post.

I did. I didn’t seem worth responding to.

Why not?

Because of posts like this.

I posted this after the post you ignored where I explained why I don’t care about nudity.

If you honestly think the there isn’t a disparity you’re fucking nuts.

There is a disparity but I don’t care so long as the actors aren’t mistreated on set.

I don’t understand why anyone is bothered by nudity in 99% of instances.

Do you know any women? Any women who are sick of the endless bombardment of naked or essentially naked women in all different circumstances over and over and over, no matter if there’s any reason for it or not? Any women who are sick of the constant objectification of women and mistreatment of women?

I do.

Bring balance to the buff. Show more naked men.

That would help, honestly.

They already do. It doesn’t offend me either. According to the IMDB parent’s guide, they do it Blade Runner 2049.

Yeah. I’m not a fan of many of them either.

I don’t actually see this as much of a realignment. It’s just the endgame of the Southern Strategy, coming to a head. Today’s Red America and Blue America isn’t really all that different than yesterday’s Gray America and Blue America. If White Identity Politics loses for a third time, if they’re no longer popular enough to be at the center of a national coalition, we can certainly hope for a more productive political realignment in the future, along, say, policy lines.

As for anti-reality, there’s a method to the madness: You call President Obama certain bad words, and you get pilloried, but you suggest maybe he has exotic origins that make him unlike the rest of us real Americans, and you get elected. Repeating patently and provably untrue things is often just a smokescreen, a way to assert group membership without betraying anything more malignant than stupidity. Trump made liberals laugh by denying reality, but he made white supremacists vote – and that was the goal.

I agree with that. Though, don’t underestimate the fact that he lost the popular vote by a lot. He’s not representing the majority of this country or even the majority of voters in this country.
