I’d recommend not online dating.
I’d recommend not online dating.
Why do you even need to give up? Why not just participate in the discussion by explaining your position? Either do that, or don’t say anything at all, but don’t act like everyone else is a moron for not agreeing with you and then refuse to even say what your position is and why. I’m totally cool with calling dissenters drunk or morons or whatever, but only if you at least tell us why we’re drunk.
You said that you don’t think abortion is a huge and controversial issue.
Holy fucking shit fuck. What post did you read?
.
Why even post in this thread if you’re incapable of having an argument on something?
unwilling is different than incapable.
True. It’s even worse.
It depends on the circumstances.
You’re just making yourself look really embarrassing by refusing to explain yourself after smearing someone. We don’t even know what your stance is other than that because a lot of news articles focus on illegal immigration (regardless of what those articles say) then it must be a severe problem in this country. That is ridiculous. Donald Trump makes more compelling and articulate arguments for himself than you are right now.
Tell me, if someone were to say to you that abortion is not a huge and controversial issue, would you waste time trying to convince the guy that he was wrong?
No one said that. Illegal immigration is a controversial issue, but it isn’t a threat to the nation. The right wing has portrayed it as a threat to the nation when it isn’t one. Read the articles I shared. I know you won’t, but if you did then you might actually understand what we’re talking about.
I love how after multiple requests from multiple different people for someone to explain why illegal immigration is a problem, there’s been no response other than what boils down to “because it is one.”
You’re drunk. Don’t ask me to explain myself because I won’t even though I could if I wanted to.

Here’s some good information that I’m sure Warbler won’t care about. But if anyone is interested in a starting point for how the illegal immigration “crisis” is blown out of proportion, here’s a couple articles.
The decision to prosecute all who enter illegally is a hard choice. I know it’s easy to think of Trump as a combover twirling villain who enjoys inflicting hardship but illegal immigration has been rampant and unless we are going to do nothing about it, hardships will continue.
This isn’t true. Illegal immigration isn’t a problem now and it hasn’t been in recent memory, if ever.
You’re drunk.
You’re telling me that illegal immigration is a major issue facing the country today?
Yes. I am pretty sure I am not only person that believes that. For something that isn’t a major problem, everyone sure does talk about it a lot.
People talk about all sorts of things that aren’t true.
Not like they do with illegal immigration.
Like I said, the right-wing blows it out of proportion to rally nationalists and xenophobes. Statistically illegal immigration actually went down under Obama. It isn’t a problem and both parties are very harsh in their treatment of illegal immigrants. The right-wing makes it a problem.
If it makes you happy to deny that illegal immigration is a major problem, continue to do so.
How is it a major problem? In what ways is our country being held back by illegal immigration?
EDIT: And what a ridiculous statement. Why would it make me happy to “deny” that illegal immigration is a major problem and why would I want to deny something just because it makes me happy? I’m not that much of a simpleton.
Fine, I will make it more: I am not going to argue this with you.
You’re going to call me drunk for saying something
perfectly reasonableand then refuse to explain yourself?fixed and yep.
What an embarrassment. Why even bother posting? You’re just wasting everyone’s time.

I don’t know what that means.
Since people talk about illegal immigration a lot, that means it’s definitely a big problem.

I don’t take you seriously because I don’t believe you really want to die. People who think life isn’t worth living don’t spend their time debating topics that are largely about quality of life.
I find this post terribly irresponsible. What if you’re wrong?
That would be unfortunate. mfm should seek help, but he’s said repeatedly he won’t seek any form of treatment.
I’d like him to stop referencing the meaninglessness of life as if it’s a supporting argument. I’d also like him to stop mapping his feelings about life and death onto everyone else (“Why would anyone want to live longer?”). Whether he really wants to die or not, almost everyone else doesn’t. I won’t indulge that. Suicide has affected me personally several times. I can assure you I take it seriously.
I don’t like being referred to as though I’m not present. If you find me so objectionable then tell me, don’t talk to other people about me like I’m an animal or child.
I was responding to Frink’s post, hence the third person reference. It wasn’t meant as an insult, but problems with perception vs. reality seems to be a recurring theme here.
I’m extending my previous decision not to respond to you regarding that single issue to all your posts from now on. I don’t believe you’re capable of rational discussion and won’t be drawn in further.
You never really responded anyway. You’re unwilling to actually share what your real stance is. Reading your lies about not being a right-wing sympathizer isn’t really worth my time either.

You’re telling me that illegal immigration is a major issue facing the country today? It’s a manufactured issue that the right-wing uses to rally its xenophobic base. The issue is how we deal with illegal immigration.

JEDIT: Apologies if already posted.
Police murder people on a daily basis. Most Americans don’t care.
“People?”
What? Whenever I get outraged over police murder, I get a pretty tepid response from the people I’m talking to. If not tepid, then they’re actively defending the police.
Jay got my meaning and then cited some stuff to supposedly disprove it.
Oh. I think the racial bias in our “justice” system is more obvious in the amount of blacks and Mexicans that get thrown in prison for ridiculously long periods of time for typically bullshit reasons, which is arguably a worse punishment even than death. But yes, police murder a lot of people of all colors. Most Americans don’t care about any of them.
I lean right on some issues and left on others. Your inability to weigh nuance is unfortunate, but it’s what I’ve come to expect from modern liberals.
And yet you use “liberal” as akin to an epithet. Not hard to see why people call bullshit, since the only people who do that are on the right (ie. also not the center).
JEDIT: For the record, I am not a liberal. But I really hate it that Rush, Hannity, Fox and whoever the hell else on the right does that.
Any inference on your part regarding “liberal” being an epithet is just that: an inference.
When I criticize liberals, I call them liberals. When I criticize conservatives, I call them conservatives. What would you have me call them? Progressives? Pick whatever term makes you happy.
The fact that the term “liberal” is sensitive goes to show how ridiculous speech policing has gotten.
Maybe you should take our feedback? I agree with chyron’s post
Pointing out that someone is using a word incorrectly is not speech policing.
Again I ask: what word would you like me to use?
I don’t really care about the word, it’s just obvious that you’re conflating the people you find objectionable with liberals as a whole, and that’s not accurate. There is no leftist “purity test” for example. The “liberals” in our government are pretty corporate and quite conservative for the most part.
I don’t take you seriously because I don’t believe you really want to die. People who think life isn’t worth living don’t spend their time debating topics that are largely about quality of life.
Why do people think that my outlook is for the amusement or annoyance of others? Read my posts in this thread, it’s obvious that I think quality of life is shit and most people are equally shit. I think everything is more or less a lost cause. You don’t know shit about me, and I don’t know what makes you an expert on what people who don’t think life is worth living like to do.
Pointing out that someone is using a word incorrectly is not speech policing.
Jay said:
When I criticize conservatives . . .
Lol.
Laugh more, you’ll live longer.
Why would anyone want to live longer?
This is why I don’t take you or your posts seriously.
I’m sure I’ll lose plenty of sleep over that. For what it’s worth, the reason no one here takes your posts seriously is because you’re unwilling to admit what you actually believe.
EDIT: Also, it’s kind of interesting that you shrug off people that want to die as not being worthy of getting taken seriously. What does that have to do with my statements on other things?
EDIT2: Not to mention, that’s another tactic I’ve noticed you use a lot. You just find some arbitrary reason to ignore people’s statements so that you don’t have to actually address them.
I really don’t like the disdain you’re showing here. My relationship with my Savior does not suffer because my church does not doctrinally agree wholly with Catholicism.
I don’t know why you’d be surprised. He’s decided to dedicate himself to the Catholic religion. I imagine that would be a hard decision to live with if you didn’t buy into to all the talking points 100%.
My wife’s extended family includes people who are Catholic, but they don’t go about telling those in the family who are not that their Protestant denominations of choice have no justification for doctrinal disagreements.
They presumably haven’t sacrificed the entire rest of their lives to study Catholic talking points.
Laugh more, you’ll live longer.
Why would anyone want to live longer?
Acting as though the left is some crazy extreme side of the spectrum because of a select few extremists is a very common trend among people that are sympathetic to the right but can’t bring themselves to admit that they lean right.
What do you think is accomplished by labeling all conservative views as “alt-right”? It’s the same approach.
I don’t know. I didn’t do that so I don’t know why you’d be asking me about that. I call conservative views “right-wing” because they are. I think it’s fair to lump Trump in with the alt-right given his alliance with many of its spokesmen during the election, like Alex Jones and Bannon.
people that are sympathetic to the right but can’t bring themselves to admit that they lean right.
This reminds me of someone for some reason.
I lean right on some issues and left on others. Your inability to weigh nuance is unfortunate, but it’s what I’ve come to expect from modern liberals.
Lol. What nuance? Your version of nuance is to jump through time and redirect criticism toward Obama and the Democrats in order to ignore what’s happening now. Your opinions are obviously informed by rightwing online outlets. “Modern liberals” are not extreme in the United States. Extreme leftists aren’t even represented on the national level of our government. The closest we have is the likes of Sanders or Warren. And they’re nowhere near as extreme as I am. I actually am the big government leftist that you and the people you get your information from seem to think the entire left is composed of. Basing the entire left on the crazy protesters that disrupt right-wing events at colleges, but that you never see anywhere else, is just as bad as what you claim people like me do to the right.
Here we go again.
