I enjoy Presence quite a bit actually, but it just does not blow my mind like Graffiti or Houses. ITTOD is mediocre but I love Fool in the Rain and All My Love. In the Evening is pretty cool, but for the most part everything else is forgettable at best for me. That is the only album by LZ (excluding Coda) that I can say that about. Hot Dog is kind of embarrassing and extremely out of character.

I recently picked up Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust! I was so happy to find that one! I also picked up Led Zeppelin’s Coda. I am really hoping to find Velvet Underground & Nico soon, but I may just pick up a reissue of that one.

Of all the led zeppelins you picked that one? Lol. I mean it’s zeppelin so Obviously it has it’s moments and “we’re gonna groove” will always be special to me as one of the first songs I learned on guitar (btw did you know that the drums bass and vocals are taken from a live performance with the guitars overdubbed and “I can’t quit you baby” is an actual live performance that they somehow got rid of the crowd noise on? The original mixes of both are on the “How the west was won” DVD) it’s vastly superior to any other led zep record.

My plan is to get all of the Led Zeppelin albums on vinyl, and Coda was the only one at the store, not to mention it was extremely cheap and the vinyl itself was in pretty beautiful shape. Now I just need to find Led Zeppelin I & III, and Houses of the Holy. I may get the reissues of those though since their Atlantic records tend to cost almost as much used. That way I can get the lovely, pristine sounding 180g vinyl, which is worth the extra cost, especially for those albums.

I used to have very negative feelings towards Coda, and after first listening to it I never bothered to pick it up again until years later. I enjoy it for what it is and appreciate it a lot more now (Bonzo’s Montreux rocks!) than I did in years past. I still, in a way, view it as much more of a curiosity than as an actual album; that is a fitting perspective though since it is a collection of outtakes and oddly edited live recordings.

By the way, what is your opinion of In Through the Out Door and Presence?

Firstly, Lord Haseo, I completely agree with you about Rey so we can just leave it at that. I, however, just see no need to say that everyone who found it hard to believe she could beat Ren is a moron who cannot use their brain.

The pointless hashtag was to mock the faux “activists” always screaming about the “privilege” of people they do not know. All words need to be considered in context. If the term “Mary Sue” were used like the “F” and “N” words to label all women derogatorily then I would agree with you that it is sexist. Using it to describe a character you feel was unbelievably brilliant and perfect in every way is completely different. Should the word fag be frowned upon even when referring to cigarettes? Or is N.W.A. the most racist group on earth? Of course not! It depends on context.

It’s not the term itself, it’s how it’s used. And it’s sexist because no one ever accuses male characters of being a Mary Sue, or a Gary Stu, or Harry Flu, or whatever.

Wesley Crusher (a man… sort of) is quite possibly the most referenced Mary Sue character in the history of fiction. He is even mentioned in the Wiki page!

Well if it’s on Wiki it must be true.

I’ve literally never heard a single male character called this other than what you just said, and I’m not the only one.

And sexism takes many forms. You don’t have to be physically assaulted to be a victim.

I do not think Rey is a Mary Sue, but I will not just throw the accusation of sexism at people who think she is. I can understand why someone might say that she is a Mary Sue for seemingly mastering the force so quickly. I think since she had been living in the desert fending for herself for pretty much her whole life it makes perfect sense to me that she could handle herself and learn quickly. Being able to beat Kylo Ren and read his mind without any legitimate training is what bothered a lot of people.

I still think that complaining about a word and saying we should stop using it, especially a word used to label fictional (as in not real) characters, is the height of first world problems. The reason I brought up my example of sexism earlier was to implore people offended by the word “Mary Sue” to #CheckYourPrivilege.

Mary Sue is not sexist, this is language police gone mad and I guarantee it is not offensive to 99% of human beings on the planet earth. Pretending that it is sexist is a disservice to people who have experienced legitimate sexism. When at a restaurant while visiting Turkey, a relative of mine witnessed a woman get kicked by her husband for merely making eye contact with a male server. That is sexism. Uttering the term Mary Sue is not.

You are probably right.

One artist that sounds pretty much inarguably better on vinyl is ZZ Top. They have never had a good history when it comes to CD releases. Especially since I believe they only just released the original mixes for all of their pre-Eliminator albums a few years ago after replacing them the original drum track with some type of new 1980s drum machine type sound.

That is how it is.

You’ve just given a perfect example of why nobody here likes you.

I know. Honesty is not appreciated.

Your “honesty” was just your opinion proposed as fact. You are not giving us any valuable insight, just your opinion and then the claim that we apparently hate the truth for disagreeing.

That is like “go ahead and tell hipsters that what they do is stupid”. I am not going to achieve anything.

And yet another example of your condescending and conceited statements.

Well, that’s probably what would happen if I were to tell them just what it is I think about their cultic religion.

Regardless, it’s still their household. As others have said, if it is that awful then your goal needs to be to get out of that environment.

Everyone in my family, including my siblings and also my parents, were cut off at age 18. This did not mean that the parents were not willing to be supportive, but when we became adults, we were responsible for our own wellbeing. I do not think that this is bad parenting.

I do not know Duracell’s situation, I just think that we should all use caution when insulting the people who raised us.

Well, aside from my dumbshit parents and sister, I have no one to talk to, and I’m not going to bring this up with them; all they’d do is wag their finger at me, throw empty Bible quotes in my face, and/or make fun of my situation.

I have always noticed that TN1 got incredible leeway due to their contributions to the fan projects. To say that TN1 in anyway has been treated poorly by OriginalTrilogy is just not the case. We still do not know the full story on this particular event, but leading up to this TN1 has gotten away with the metaphoric murder of OriginalTrilogy’s account rules.
