Fox essentially owns the original film, and George dumped them to get hitched to a mouse. Why would they worry about upsetting him now?

Picked up the new Criterion The Graduate blu-ray today and I’m watching it now. The new transfer is really spectacular, I highly recommend taking a look.

The animated series is an example of how the prequels should have been, and is an indictment of the prequels’ failure, not an excuse.
I forgot when the animated series was Attack of the Clones.
I too used to think and act along those lines. Truthfully I feel a little bad for him because if he doesn’t change he’s probably going to end up being completely alone.
Hopefully he doesn’t act this way in person.

Padme fakes her death, takes Luke to Tatooine with Ben to arrange things with Owen and Beru, goes with Bail to Alderaan to raise Leia, assumes new identity, dies of natural causes, (or an accident) while Leia is still a toddler. Problem solved.
That would take too much screen time after the climax. That would take a whole other movie. Also, why would she leave Luke with Owen and Beru if she was still alive. Why wouldn’t she want to raise both of her children herself?
It could have been assumed, especially since Leia says that her mother died when she was young. That’s the problem with the prequels. Everything had to be tied into a neat bow. Why couldn’t we just be left to assume that Boba Fett was some bounty hunter trying to make his way in the universe? Instead, George had to spell it out that he was a clone from New Zealand.
Personally, I like for all loose ends to be tied up in a story.
It isn’t a “loose end” to not know how Padme died. We know from Return of the Jedi that she died when Leia was very young. To see her die is unnecessary. A loose end would be if nowhere in the OT was Padme mentioned, and she just vanished in between the two movies. It also isn’t a loose end to not know who Boba Fett was as a small child. It is irrelevant information inconsequential to everything in the story.
imperialscum reminds me of how I behaved as a teenager. I was very cocky and thought that I was smarter than everyone around me. I also thought that everyone hated me because I was “telling it like it is”, or some other bullshit nonsense along those lines. I hope for his sake that he outgrows this soon, but if he doesn’t, I hope that he at least realizes that the reason everyone hates him is not because he is smart, but because he is a self-absorbed and conceited asshole that makes even Kanye West appear modest and likable.

I woke up this morning at 7:20 AM, which was 25 minutes before I needed to awaken, so I drifted back to sleep. I had a lovely dream that felt as though it were hours worth of activity and adventure, and upon awakening I was concerned that I had slept through my alarm, but I had only been asleep for 4 minutes. Very strange.
Its the people that think everything Star Wars is worth a huge amount that irritate me. Like when you pick up a book at a yardsale they want $30 for because its from the 70’s. Ugh.
I once found a J. Geils Band album priced at $50. It’s insane how people overvalue their moldy old forgotten stuff.
That’s certainly better than my collection. I pick up what I can for prices I find reasonable. I don’t mind a worn cover if the vinyl itself is in good shape, but if it’s too beat up or gross I pass on them. I have all the Eagles albums (which I know people on the east coast tend to hate), almost all of the Beatles albums, almost all the Led Zeppelin albums and a variety of other things. I probably have over 100 total. I have an enormous collection of CDs that have been transferred to digital, but I still prefer vinyl, for obvious reasons.
Sure is. I also found an awesome Elvis compilation triple LP. I’m pretty sure it’s 180g vinyl as well. I bet it’s worth a lot more than I paid for it.

I think it became embarrassing once the prequels were done. From what I remember – although I admit that this may be entirely anecdotal – Star Wars was viewed as a bloated joke by the general populace. That changed during the buildup to TFA.
