Zombie said a long time ago in this thread that he heard from within Lucasfilm that they had been in the process of digitally scanning and archiving every single solitary piece of film from the Star Wars series, and that’s why there were so many deleted scenes and old-school documentaries on the blu ray box set. It makes me wonder to what extent some of the work regarding an OT restoration was already done when Disney bought Lucas out. I have a feeling that the 4K Star Wars restoration that apparently started under Lucas was going to have more changes than the bluray we got ended up having.

Are all of the “stand-alone films” going to be prequels that directly lead in to the OT and require a thorough understanding of the original films in order to understand them? I guess technically the “Star Wars Stories” don’t necessarily have to be standalone. I’m not sure how I feel because if we have to get a backstory to every OT thing every other year, I’ll just be completely burnt out on everything Star Wars related, but I couldn’t possibly care less about some random Star Wars stuff that has nothing to do with the OT (which basically means it has nothing to do with Star Wars as far as I’m concerned).

I actually think that the high prices make it pointless to see movies unless you either think that you know they’ll be great, or if you’ve been anticipating it for a while. Twenty years ago it was affordable to just go to the movies and see what sounded fun.

Which is to say, obviously women have far more rights than guns (don’t think anyone doesn’t literally think that), what they’re trying to say is that they wish protecting women’s rights were as important to politicians as protecting “gun’s rights” (preventing gun control).
