Yes, the villains are definitely the lowest part of the Living Daylights.
Yes, the villains are definitely the lowest part of the Living Daylights.
Star Trek certainly had moments back in its day that’d be considered politically incorrect now. But I’m talking about at the time.
“Matter of Honor” was ridiculous, but I never understood what the problem was with “Angel One”, other than that it was dull as dirt and not well written.
Political correctness is about being sensitives to the attitudes and cultures of underrepresented populations. People can put whatever bs interpretation of it if they want, but that’s what it is - treating people with respect. And that’s what Star Trek has always strived for, even if it didn’t always hit the mark.
Political correctness is not just treating people with respect. You had it mostly right with your first sentence, it’s the avoidance of topics and expressions that supposedly marginalize other people or underrepresented populations. The problem is that it assumes that all attitudes and cultures are worth being sensitive to, and it puts the onus on the person speaking to censor himself, even if he’s being completely reasonable, for the sake of possibly offending somebody that might not even be the person that the information is directed at. Star Trek was never politically correct like that. For example, there’s an episode of TNG where Worf kills that asshole Klingon that framed his father and murdered his girlfriend. Picard reprimands him and responds to Worf’s defense (that it was in line with his culture) by saying that he respects all of the different ways of life of his crew, but he does not tolerate deviations from Starfleet regulations, or Picard’s orders, for the sake of cultures. That is not politically correct by today’s standards because Picard expected Worf to essentially put aside his traditional way of life. That’s the difference between respect and political correctness.
Ex. They put a Russian on the Enterprise during the height of the Cold War. Now, the execution wasn’t perfect (pretty stereotypical portrayal, looking back), but the mere fact of the matter was a ballsy move to promote inclusion.
That was actually quite politically incorrect at the time and it was a ballsy move to promote inclusion.
What about the one where it’s a planet dominated by women that oppress men? I know that one gets a lot of flak for supposedly being offensive. I don’t think it’s offensive but it was really boring and not profound or worth watching at all.
The Nintendo switch is going to fail, really hard.
You’re wrong.
about a great many things.
All of them, to be exact.
I remember it, he’s saying that sometimes the child is the predator of the adult, which he claims was his case as a 13 year-old. I guess to be fair most of it is talking about his own situation but there are some disturbing implications.
Leaving Breitbart will hurt his income, but I doubt he’ll lose any of his audience though.
Telling awesome stories involving diverse casts of humans and aliens alike that involve cooperation isn’t what political correctness is anyway. Political correctness is the ridiculous censorship and avoidance of facts and words that might be considered offensive. Now everyone thinks that anything involving a moderately diverse cast is “political correctness”.
Just so you all know, I’ve mellowed since several months ago and haven’t been visiting this thread much. Let me say here that Milo is one of the most despicable people on Earth. Interestingly, those comments, amongst other things, were what made me reevaluate him a few months ago and realize how awful he is. If people think that this is at all going to be the end of him, they still don’t get him. He’s going to be a thorn in everyone’s side until they finally figure out what makes people like him lose momentum, and it isn’t giving them a ton of attention. This is no different than him getting banned from Twitter.
Why can’t you just wait until it comes out to call it failure? This is why all of your posts are so embarrassing; it’s because you try to call things disasters before they happen and you’re wrong 100% of the time.
Well, he’s been 5% right about a few Trump things…
Nah he couldn’t even get those right.
And we haven’t gotten to the most obvious marketing opportunity for it to happen, which is the 40th anniversary. I don’t get why anyone would think that the OOT would be a primary goal of Lucasfilm immediately after the buyout.
The Truman Show (1998) – ★★★★
Fantastic!
Then why did you only give it 4 stars?
All these ratings without the top rating reference really bothers me.
Right? For all we know he just gave it a 4 out of 100.
Lol, I was just thinking about that TNG episode.

In two weeks frevious will read a positive article about the switch and love it.

There is no 4k scan of the OOT, and none is being worked on right now.
Can you at least admit that the reason no one is believing this from you is because you don’t know what you’re talking about?
Ok, well then I don’t know what to tell you.
No, there’s absolutely nothing to it.
I just like to hate on James Bond.
You’ve mentioned before that you’ve only seen one of them decades ago.
The 4K restoration indicates that they have scanned the original elements of the film. He didn’t say anything about wishing or hoping. You are the one who is acting more than anybody as though you actually know what you’re talking about.
It’s called giving Disney the benefit of a doubt.
It’s been 5 years. Five. It was fine to give them the benefit of the doubt for a time. But five years is long enough to figure out that Disney has no plans to release the OOT.
Five years is the cutoff? So you have experience as a professional film restorer and seasoned, profit-driven studio executive then?
How does he know that they didn’t decide to start restoring the OOT on the 365th day of the 4th year?
Any Bond fan who does not have TLD in or at least hovering around their top 10 is not a true Bond fan.
As a true Bond fan, I love all of the films equally except for the ones with Daniel Craig 😉
EDIT: That was a joke by the way. Normally I wouldn’t bother clarifying but so many people like to hate on Daniel Craig for usually no reason that I wanted to make sure I wasn’t confused for one of those.
They were joking.
I don’t get why people wouldn’t like TLD. It’s exciting and violent while still being lighthearted enough to enjoy as a standalone, escapist action film. It’s basically the last of the Cold War Bond films too, which is neat.
A woman facing you with open arms and legs and/or “looks” like she wants to give you a hug is a good indicator that she’s interested in you?
If you’re on a date with somebody then it usually is.
Well yeah, but if she agreed to go on a date with you, you already knew she was interested in you.
You don’t know if she’s romantically interested just from that.
Well if she wasn’t, why would she have agreed to go on a date with you?
For fun, or maybe it’s just a friendly date to her.
