I think it’s the Star Wars Story shit that’s throwing me off. Solo is a fair title.

Why was this topic locked?temp-locked to sift through later.
I saw that, but there’s nothing to sift through, it wasn’t an ongoing issue, just sudden trolling from one poster.
I’m just bitter because I forgot what I was going to post in response to John Frink and TV’s Doom.
Oh I know.
Missed the joke.
It was a big galaxy too.
Why was the Ranking the Star Wars Films thread locked over the behavior of only one person who has trolled consistently over the years? I was having a ROTS vs. TFA/R1 discussion and now I forgot what I was going to type in response to Frink and the other guy I was talking to.
Enterprise explaining the absence of ridges in TOS was the bottom of the barrel as far as story ideas goes. They just laughed it off in DS9 Trials and Tribble-ations.
Why not call it something like Little Wing or Kessel Run or Space Race or something that is just a normal title? Why does it have to include Han’s name. From a marketing purpose I know why, but from an artistic point of view it’s forced.
He seemed stunned that people in the 20-25 year-old range would have grown up playing video games that are 15-20 years old.
I think I get what you’re saying. Maybe I’m just bitter because I was cursed with an incredibly effeminate walk that I could never figure out how to get rid of.
However, maybe bend more with the knees and sway less with the hips?
Lol! I’ve tried and I can’t. Walking is an unconscious thing.
What disturbed me the most about Bush was his letting Cheney run roughshod with his military industrial complex. Also didn’t like his environmental and social policies. But as a person, I think he was trying to do the right thing.
What disturbed me the most about Obama was his ramping up of drone strikes, which I think is unbecoming and hypocritical of our country. Also questioned the one-sided-ness of the bank bailout. But as a person, I think he was trying to do the right thing.
Trump is in a whole other league. If I started a similar list, it would go on and on, as I disagree with nearly every change he has instituted (or tried to institute). Easily orders of magnitude worse. And as a person, I think he is a con man trying to make as much money out of this deal as he can, and that he blatantly doesn’t give a crap about anyone else. It still stuns me that people would vote for such a total creep.
I agree almost completely. I’d add the Patriot Act and expansion of government overwatch to both Bush and Obama though. Also, Obama as a President was a lot more competent than Bush. That needs to be stated.
I don’t know. I think being annoyed by a specific personality type is fair enough.
And completely irrelevant to anything.
I think I get what you’re saying. Maybe I’m just bitter because I was cursed with an incredibly effeminate walk that I could never figure out how to get rid of.
I know he likes to talk about his age in relation to things as if him being slightly older than a quarter of the forum members means something. No idea why, though.
That is very true, although I will say that I’m a bit of a TV’s Frink fan. I don’t know how effeminate you are, though, so maybe I shouldn’t speak too soon. 😉
Isn’t it interesting that Obi Wan was older than the average Tattooine life expectancy during ANH? His survival is pretty convenient if you ask me. It’s also pretty convenient that Han was available during that time. Realistically they’d have had to wait in the cantina for a few hours, or perhaps stay in a hotel before the Falcon would be ready to make their journey.
You probably need to get over yourself then.
If he’s just annoyed by a personality type then I can get that. It was unfortunately phrased though.
Or that the entire thing was filmed like a collection of video game cutscenes. Or that it completely failed to deliver on the creation of Darth Vader, which was its most important task.
R1 felt like trailer shots and video games cutscenes to me too. It didn’t ruin Darth Vader, so that puts it above ROTS.
Saying ROTS is better may not be saying much but it’s still saying way too much, no matter how little you weren’t entertained by TFA or R1.
I wouldn’t say it’s better, but I actually remember having some very vague feelings as I left the theatre after ROTS. Now that might have been because I fully believed that I had just seen the last Star Wars movie ever, and it was completely lame and boring, but I felt something. TFA and R1 were like two hours that vanished from my life with no impact whatsoever.
Similar in their disregard for the fourth amendment? That’s not a false equivalence.
The fact that this is all we’ve been debating for the last couple pages suggests this was a pretty good film.
No, it’s just close to the bottom of the barrel as far as discussion goes because the rest has already been discussed. Surely if people are complaining about the title of the Phantom Menace, then it was a pretty good film.
Maybe I ought to play Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask to finally see what all the hype it has generated since it must be babys first Zelda game. Maybe the N64 or 3DS version through emulators. No, I don’t regret not playing it when it was released when I was a teenager at all. Really don’t care if I play with mods or not when I eventually procrastinate to.
?
Still playing ASSASSIN’S CREED III and EMPIRE: TOTAL WAT. Replaying 1997 Westwood Studios BLADE RUNNER for PC. Not entirely sure if I’ve gotten all the endings yet. Would be great if there were another BLADE RUNNER game, maybe released by CDProjekt RED, but they have Cyberpunk 2077 forthcoming. No, certainly not from TellTale either.
EMPIRE: TOTAL WAT (sic) is just babys (sic) first total wat (sic) game.
To people like me, whom (I think I’m using whom right, I never mastered that) TFA and R1 failed to even moderately entertain, saying ROTS is better isn’t saying very much. Not sure if that’s part of John Doom’s reasoning. TFA and R1 are above the prequels in my ranking, but not by much.
I’m not saying they’re all exactly the same. I don’t see how it’s a false equivalence to compare them, and of course we aren’t living in a fascist state.
Bush and Obama weren’t as overt as Trump in as many ways, especially not Obama, but their actions check most of those boxes. I’m not defending Trump, I’m just advocating that we not give other POS politicians credit they don’t deserve.
