Terminator 3 T-HOPE Edition (Released)
Time
I actually hoped to have this NTSC version finished this month, but they will be very unlikely. The reason can be found here:
problem

One of my project files turned corrupt. I still haven;t found a solution, so now stuck with the choice to
a) use the scene from PAL version. Problem is that the narration by John Connor is sometimes hard to understand (=something I wanted to fix for the NTSC release).
OR
b) create the complete scene all over again. Thinking about this gives me a headache, left alone actually doing it.

I'm going on wintersport in mid March, and I don't think it will be finished in March.

If you know the answer to my problem, help me...

Ulead MediaStudio Pro v8.0 serious problem - FILE READING ERROR 20379:1:107

I can't open my project files anymore. I get the messgae "File reading error 20379:1:107". This was a critical project file for my T3 T-HOPE NTSC version, and now I can't open it again. Does someone know what the problem is and if there's some fix/patch? I can't find any solution on the internet about it.

I have alraedy tried to re-insert project files etc. but it doesn't work. I have installed all pathes that I am aware, like the service pack.
Ulead has made 30 temp saves of the project. The last 15 are corrupt, and these are just the saves that contain the important changes.

Yes I can. Here's a rough description first, just to make sure it's what you're after:

MPAA Red band, then MGM lion, then "I'll be back."
'Trailer Voice Man' speaks along with onscreen text, "The Terminator...is...back." "...state of tha rt 5.1 surround sound..." "...(featuring) newly discovered deleted scenes..." et cetera, runs for 63 seconds.

Yep, that's the one. It uses a lot of blue colors. I have two version of it, a short version and a longer version. Could you please upload your version for me at rapidshare.com?

I just updated some of the T2-3D features.

Also, the Terminator SE trailer you mentioned "from the website" can also be found on (at the very least) the "Ghost World" DVD. (At least, I think it's the same trailer. I'd have to check to be sure.)

The only other thing I would mention is that there seems to be a lot of stuff listed that is still readily available on commercial releases...(ie: T2-3D: Breaking the Screen Barrier, No Feat But What We make, and T2 On the Set) ...just wondering about the decision to include "non-grey area" materials.

If you have that DVD trailer in good quality, can you please rip it and send it to me, so I can include a better quality version than a version converted from Quicktime?

I have decided to include the making of T2-3D to have a more complete T2-3D disc, as like an Ultimate Edition. All the stuff that is available will be included, that was my thought of the Ultimate project idea.

I have given the reason already for the Extreme Edtiion but will do it again. This Extreme Edition has only been released in America/Canada and Japan. I am European guy, and if I should only do it with the official releases then theoretically I should never be able to see those releases, because they are:
a) not released here in Europe.
b) region 1 encoded, while we have region 2.
So, theoretically, I cannot see it. However I have the disc and am able to watch because I have a region free dvd player. But many other Terminator do not have this possibility, so they are missing some stuff simple because it's never released here.
c) I thought "an Ultimate Edition" should have all the stuff. What's the point of "an ultimate edition" if you're gonna release "an extreme edition"? And then perhaps "an supremacy edition"? Then the term "ultimate" loses its value, so in order to make it "Ultimate"... well, I think you understand my point now.
So that's why I am seriously thinking to include it.

T-HOPE ULTIMATE TERMINATOR PROJECT (Mainly Released)
Time

T-HOPE ULTIMATE TERMINATOR PROJECT

These DVD’s will just be an addition of Terminator footage to the already existing discs, plus more!!!

TERMINATOR 2 3D - BATTLE ACROSS TIME (“Project 640”) – T-HOPE ULTIMATE EDITION

1. Preservation of the Terminator 2 3D footage.
2. Many fans cannot see this Terminator footage, because they don’t live in America or Japan.

I am going to try to create an Ultimate Edition DVD, with many T2-3D related things. Kinda like the Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition, only fanmade and lesser quality video.

Format will be NTSC, fullscreen 4:3.

Planned content:

  • T2-3D Workprint January 17 1996 (15 mins.)
  • T2-3D audience recording #1 (22 mins.)
  • T2-3D audience recording #2 (19 mins.)
  • The Making of T2-3D: Breaking The Screen Barrier (23 mins.)
  • Universal Studios: Terminator 2 3D (8 mins.):
  • Opening of the attraction
  • Behind-the-scenes
  • 8 TV Spots; quality varies from real bad (=count the pixels) to watchable (VHS tape rip).
  • T2-3D E! Online/Universal Studios Florida Promo (0:32)
  • Promo 01 (0:13)
  • T2-3D Internet spot (0:18)
  • T2-3D Spot 01 (0:15)
  • T2-3D Spot 02 (0:17)
  • Rental VHS trailer “The future is coming” Universal Studios Florida (0:30)
  • “Not for the faint of heart” Internet spot (0:40)
  • Universal Studios Hollywood Promo (0:31)
  • Terminator 2 3D ‘press kit’ - Clips from Attraction / Audience reaction (1:44)
  • Posters (15 pics).
  • Artwork;
  • Show (8 pics)
  • Mini-Hunter (9 pics)
  • SKYNET Interior (4 pics)
  • SKYNET Interior (9 pics)
  • T-1.000.000 (14 pics)
  • 3 Cyberdyne Systems promotion videos
  • my fan-made Tv spot, which will play before the main menu appears (0:30).

And perhaps:

  • Easter egg??

THE TERMINATOR – T-HOPE ULTIMATE EDITION BONUS DISC

This will be an extra bonus disc to the already existing T1 DVD releases, which still misses some T1 related videos.

Format will be NTSC, fullscreen 4:3.

Planned content:

  • The Making of The Terminator; original 1984 making of T1 featurette, never released on DVD (app. 22 mins.)
  • The Terminator - E! True Hollywood Story; 2002 featurette about the Terminator (app. 60 mins.)
  • The Terminator - Special Edition DVD Trailer; Special Edition promotional trailer that was released on the website when the special edition DVD was released.
  • Alternate scene “Terminator’s sneakers”. The original scene showed the Terminator wearing white sneakers instead of boots. On DVD releases this image has been cropped to remove the Terminator’s sneakers out of the screen.

And perhaps:

  • Bits & Bytes; various small clips that were hidden easter eggs on the region 1 Special Edition DVD release, but are missing on the other region releases.
  • Chrono-surfing - “A Brief History Of Time Travel”; essay by Randall Frakes. This was a hidden easter egg on the region 1 Special Edition DVD release, but it was missing on other region releases.
  • TV alterations; footage of TV alterations. The TV cut has edited language, and even 1 alternate shot. If someone can send me this TV edit, I might edit those scenes into this DVD preservation.

Note:
I’m not sure if both the documentaries can be included on a 4,5gb DVD-r. I don’t have a dual-layer DVD burner, so I’m stuck to go for a 4,5gb release.

TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY – T-HOPE ULTIMATE EDITION BONUS DISC

The T2 Ultimate Edition was still nothing ultimate in my opinion. The most notable omission was the Guns N’ Roses video “You Could Be Mine.” Also with the release of the Extreme Edition, many fans don’t want to buy two DVD releases and still miss Terminator 2 related stuff. Also people don’t feel like buying the Extreme Edition if they already have the Ultimate Edition, and the Extreme Edition has not even been released in every continent. So footage from the Extreme Edition, plus other T2 related footage will be put together, something similar like “Pirates of the Caribbean - The lost disc”.

Format will be NTSC, ratio aspect is yet unknown and may even vary by each source.

Planned content:

  • Guns N’ Roses - You Could Be Mine videoclip; source is tv rip and if I remember correctly, it might even feature an MTV logo.
  • I have a very small video segment of a Guns N’ Roses/Arnold Schwarzenegger interview about the collaboration between them about the video. it’s an old VHS rip and the size is 320 by 240. It will have large pixels when I transfer these to DVD format, so does anyone have a decent rip?
  • “No Feat But What We Make” (24 mins.); An all-new documentary on the role of “T2” in the evolution of Digital Effects and Modern Filmmaking, featuring new Interviews with prominent Filmmakers and Visual Effects Artists. From the T2 Extreme Edition.
  • “T2: On The Set” (8 mins.); Exclusive new Retrospective Montage of life on the set of the greatest action movie ever made, featuring Rare Production Footage. From the T2 Extreme Edition.
  • Japanese T2 teasers and trailers; the region 1 Ultimate Edition version has these, but they were missing on other region releases.
  • German T2 teaser; I decided to include this German teaser, because the ending is slightly different (=alternate).
  • Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition DVD Trailer #1 (2:00)
  • Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition DVD Trailer #2 (2:26)
  • Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition DVD Trailer #3 (1:04)
  • Terminator 2 Extreme Edition DVD Trailer (1:59)
  • T2 Game trailer #1
  • T2 Game trailer #2
  • T2 Williams Pinball promotional video (15:34)
  • MTV Movie Awards - Terminator 2

And perhaps:

  • Storyboards/artwork; not all storyboards and artwork was released on the official Ultimate Edition releases.

Note:
I have the T2 Special Edition laserdisc, but I don’t have a laserdisc player. Does anyone know what the content of the T2 Special Edition laserdisc is regarding to the Guns N’ Roses chapter on it. Does it only feature the music video, or also information pages? Can anyone rip stuff from Laserdisc to digital DVD video?

TERMINATOR SAVED MY LIFE (SCI-FI SAVED MY LIFE)

TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES – T-HOPE ULTIMATE EDITION BONUS DISC
Not sure if I will do this, but it could be another bonus disc…

Keep in mind that most of the videos have to be converted and there will be a quality loss. The TV spots will be in bad quality, but hey… better something than absolutely nothing.

Request: Terminator TV version - a US/Can copy required - please
Time

The American/Canadian Tv version of The Terminator is slightly different. Here are some of the changes (from IMDB):

  • Another alternate take that was shown in the Canadian television version was during the scene where the Terminator shoots the owner of the gun shop. In the theatrical version, you actually see the owner get blown away, but <span class=“Bold”>in the television version, it replaces this with a view from outside the store. You hear the shotgun blast and then you see the door of the shop swing open.</span>

  • A television version shown in Canada uses a brief alternate take in the scene at the police station where Traxler is about to go talk with the news reporters. In the theatrical version when Traxler asks “how do I look?”, Vukovich replies “like shit, boss”. But in the television version, he replies “like you’ve been dead for a week”.

  • When aired on USA and SCI-FI, the following alterations were made: when both Terminator and Reese arrive from the future, the supposed dirty mumblings of the witnesses (a garbage truck driver and a bum) have been edited. When the Terminator visits the first wrong Sarah, his original scene of him shooting her six times is changed to one shot with the BANG cut out. The scenes where Kyle hotwires the cars is edited, as is the scene of Sarah waitressing in the restaurant and a kid drops a spoonful of food down her blouse.

  • When aired on TV, many alterations are made. Like when Terminator confronts the punks and orders them to turn over their clothes, Bill Paxton’s response of “Fuck you, Asshole” is changed to “Eat this, scum!”; The scene of Terminator ripping out the heart of one of the punks is removed and just shows him picking him up the cuts to Terminator glaring at another punk who wilfully turns over his clothes; When Terminator first arrives and he walks towards the edge of the building to see the city, the camera is moved upwards to avoid his buttox, Reese’s is also edited; The execution of Ginger is removed, instead just shows the one shot Terminator fired at her then she goes flying; Vukovich’s remark of ‘Like shit, boss’ is changed to ‘Like you’ve been dead for a week’; when Terminator knocks out a cop and takes his car, the part of Terminator banging the cop’s head against the car is removed and just shows him throwing the cop into the street.

Is there someone who is willing and able to record the Terminator TV version and put it online for me? I live in the Europe and they never air this edited version here (just in America/Canada). I have never seen this tv version with edited and alternate scenes. I’m a big Terminator fan, and I’d love to have it in my collection. Can someone please presserve it for me? I’m particular interested in the version with the alternate scene of the gunshop killing.

Idea: a Jurassic Park Trilogy fan edit...
Time
I don't know if this is a big help:
http://www.jplegacy.org/home.php

There are some musical cues that are placed back with footage, how it was originally meant or something like that:

Jurassic Park:
http://www.jplegacy.org/home.php?load=jurassicpark/jpunleashed.shtml

The Lost World:
http://www.jplegacy.org/home.php?load=jurassicpark2/tlwunleashed.shtml

Jurassic Park 3:
http://www.jplegacy.org/home.php?load=jurassicpark3/jp3unleashed.shtml

To quote the owner:
“Jurassic Park: Unleashed” was born out of my efforts to understand the true intent behind the scores to the Jurassic Park films. In my studies it became evident that not all the music to the films had been released, and even still, some music had been unused. Some of the tracks that were unused perplexed me as to why they would make such a decision as not use music that John Williams–arguably the most crafty and brilliant film composer ever to grace all forms of art with his craft–had written for them.

It is my hope in this project that all who view these might gain a deeper appreciation for what exactly goes into movie making and exactly why certain decision are made. Some of these videos have music that simply doesn’t work right. I made them to illustrate why the music is unused more than to illustrate that the music should have been used. Watch these videos and keep in mind what the original experience of viewing the film was like and compare it to these. You will find that in most cases, the music was removed with good reason.

I have never seen the ABC cut, but I'm interested. I always thought about a possible Jurassic Park 2 extended edit. After the family finds the little dinosaurs attacking the girl, their screams switch to a gaping boardmember instead of a gaping Ian Malcolm. How does the ABC cut do this? And how they show the first show of Ian Malcom? Stil gaping at that station?

What's Different In The Spider-Man 2 Special Edition?
When the Spider-Man 2 special edition comes to DVD - I already speculated that this would be in April, though nothing has been officially announced yet - there will be a whole raft of new material, recut scenes and alternate takes. 'Webhead' has been able to compile all of the differences and sent them to film ick.

Peter's Birthday Party is slightly extended.
Peter and Mary Jane's backyard conversation is slightly extended.
Spider-Man's awkward converation in the elevator is now made up from completely different takes.
Mary Jane and Louise's conversation in the shoe store is a new addition.
Peter's visit to the campus doctor is slightly extended.
Jameson is seen trying on the Spider-Man suit.
The Battle between Doc Ock and Spider-Man after the bank robbery has a new scene added - a fight in an office.
The train sequence has a small addition during Doc Ock and Spider-Man battle on top of the train.

All of this adds up to around 8 minutes of additional footage. It's not yet clear which new extras will be on this DVD release, but something tells me they'll add up to one of the best, most satisfying double dips yet."

Will the DVD be different than the broadcasted version, or is this just some fanboy's dream idea?

The Matrix Reloaded - T-HOPE Extended Edition (* unfinished project *)

Anmiatrix will definitely be cut up. I don't like the start of the episode, but I want to remove some parts. Even the Jue scene in the Matrix, when she's jumping and flying towards that droppoint will be removed. I think what I have in mind, will turn out good. Yes, it will be like BAM you're immediately into the action, but I'm going try to make it exciting and suspencefull.

The ending is still not sure, I'm going to play around with that fact.

Right now, I have the keymaker's flashback just before they enter that corridor. If you have another idea how to use, let me hear it!

Please keep in mind that I still have to finish that T3 T-HOPE NTSC fanedit before I will start on this one. I have planned that I will start with this fanedit in the end of February.

But I like to discuss the possibilities of if it, like we do now. Keep on going! ;-)

I will consider your idea of Niobe's arrival at Zion.
As for the quoted part... YES!

See my script that I just adjusted with comments:

I really like to hear your feedback on it. All the ETM scenes are marked with ------ETM------
Btw, be sure to read the part of the 9 hours/3 hours issue.

1. to include the conversation voice-over ghost has with trinity...you could start the voiceover after the rave/sex scene, right after morpheus says good night Zion, sweet dreams, and segway this talk into the scene of them sitting together and having trinity thanking ghost for the talk...
I have thought about this too, but I found it weird why Trinity would be at Ghost's place after she and Neo had sex. It's like she sleeps with Neo and then immediately goes to Ghost after the sex... it doesn't make sense to me.

2. to have the oracle talk to niobe (again it cant be both niobe and ghost and i feel niobe's talk is more important) you cuold put this after t he scene where they realize the emp went off:
"Roland: What was that ? Man: I think it was an EMP. Roland: How ? Man: No idea, but right now we can't reach 11, 4, or 7." cause Niobe gets a call that the oracle wants to see her, then cut to where neo is bac k on the ship telling morpheus the bad news and they run and neo takes out the sentinels and they get picked up by the hammer, then cut to niobe meeintg the oracle, and the go bac kto the hammer and complete the film...

Yes, I have it something like that. I actually had this in mind to happen at the end of the movie, after the sequence of Neo with the Architect. Ghost tells them something did not happen what should have happened. Then they get the call from Seraph. Niobe/Ghost visit her (perhaps in some montage, so that the best parts of both visits can be used).
I was thinking to end the movie with the Oracle's talk with Seraph, that she needs his help now, and that the path of the One is made by the many.

But don't be afraid to use the scenes like Niobe and Morpheus entering Zion. They are not completely similiar. It will not be that boring, it will be a complete extended version, and afterall, isnt that the point of making this. Also, on the scenes that are repeated between ghost and niobe, i found the scenes with niobe were more meaningful...both the kiss, and the oracle meeting...what we find out from ghost just isnt that earth shattering.

thanks

What I meant with script is that I took the Matrix Reloaded transscript and placed the parts of the ETM script in it, so it would fit. Some scenes appear later in the movie, then they actually took place. Like the thing with saving Alex. In ETM, it is shown how Ghost and Niobe bring him to a phone and they disappear. The trainman appears to tell Niobe about 72 hours. What I thought about doing, is using this footage just before Neo meets the Architect, and cutting Alex from that little ETM scene. I don't want to give away the surprise of more versions of the matrix in the beginning, so I moved it to the end of the movie. That kind of stuff. Also the footage of Persephone is saying the same thing three times to different characters. The subplot of the Keymaker and Cain/Able stealing the key is also gone, because it would not make much sense to the viewer.

I'm still trying to figure out how to use the footage of Ghost and Niobe meeting the Oracle at the end of Matrix Reloaded T-HOPE ext. ed. Both conversations are interesting because they give some plotpoints. About how the Oracle's appearance change, etc.

I also like to include Ghost's conversation with Trinity, because it shows Ghost is more of a religious person:
Trinity: Ghost, can I ask you a serious question?
Ghost : Of course.
Trinity: Do you believe that Neo is going to end the war?
Ghost : Yes, I do.
Trinity: So do I... but I can't explain how or why.
Ghost : Kierkegaard reminds us that belief has nothing to do with how or
why. Belief is beyond reason. I believe because it is absurd.
Trinity: You think it's crazy to believe it?
Ghost : To believe what? That a single man can defeat an entire race of
machines and end a war that has endured for over a hundred years?
Of course. It's complete lunacy and that's why we must believe it
will happen. Faith, by its very nature, must transcend logic.

I love this conversation, yet I still have not seen a way of how to include it. It shows some great motivation of why people can even believe in Neo, and that he will defeat an entire army.

I first thought of putting it before Morpheus's speech to the people, when the gang has just returned to Zion, because Trinity visits Ghost. However, including that scene would give people perhaps the idea that Trinity was cheating with him, because it's not clear that they were having a fight in a simulator, because there is no footage of it. So I thought of the two of them just sitting together, having this conversation, and then while they are talking, you get to see Neo with all the people surrounding him after he steppe dout of the elevator. But it's impossible this way, there's not enough footage to do that. If you have an idea how to include this nice conversation in the movie, give me a hint. It's just an audio file, so I believe it will become a voice-over somehow...

No, I'm going to do this one alone. I have already placed the scenes in the script so that I have an idea where to put them, plus some changing around of the ETM scenes so that they appear in another order than they happen in the game, because there are some problems with the changing of the Oracle's look, etc. Anyway, I think this will become a very interesting cut. I'm not planning to use all the ETM scenes, because the story still has to make sense, and with all the similar scenes (Persephone has 3 scenes that are all the same, kissing Neo/Ghost/Niobe; Morpheus and Niobe enter Zion with their ships in a similar way), it will become quickly boring.

P.S. Why "T-HOPE"?

T-HOPE is my faneditor's alias. So it's more like "T-HOPE's extended edtion", but since I don't like the 's part, I just called it T-HOPE Extended Edition.

okay, for the ones interested in the NTSC version.

I just did a re-mix of one of the scenes in which the voice was hard to understand. Voice sound has been tuned up, background music has been lowered in volume.

After this, the intro will be re-mixed in the same style as mentioned above.

When this is done, I will start converting the video to NTSC.

Thanks for being so patient!!
