'Backstroke of the West' with retail DVD quality : FINISHED & RELEASED
Time
You could probably use the 5.1, I just assumed most would want to put this on a DVD-5 and I just thought 2.0 would fit better.

You could probably use another program, as long as it creates ac3 and m2v files. SmartRipper is also in that first post.

As soon as I grab my Star Wars DVDs from my parents house, I will create a new disc since I lost the first one I made anyway.

Does anyone have the files I posted on the first page, in the first post, that they could supply me so I can update it so folks can download this project again? Also, so I can have the disc for myself once again, as I seem to have lost mine, as well as everything used to create it (except Episode III itself, of course).

Pokemon: making the dub more like the original (Released)
Time
Except for the first movie, all PAL releases of the movies are widescreen. (But not necessarily the shorts; German mov.6 DVD has the short in fullscreen and the feature in widescreen, for example.)

Movies 6-9, while not dual audio, are pretty much uncut, and I have resynched the English audio to the Japanese versions. Movie 9 even got widescreen here in the US, complete with the Toho bumper.

That's pretty cool. I haven't seen the later episodes and movies but plan to catch up on them later. Do you plan on making DVD versions of the movies with dual audio?

I think I've heard of that (Pokemon Channel for GameCube).

I forgot something about Pokemon Channel. I meant that the Pokemon short included in it, Pichu Bros., you can unlock the Japanese audio to that short in the American GC game.

Pokemon: making the dub more like the original (Released)
Time
Those clips are great! I had planned similar projects for Pokemon.

I did the same thing to Snow Way Out! I just made up some lines for what I thought they might say in the English version during the match scene in the igloo. I played as James and my sister played as Jessie and I re-arranged Meowth's lines. I have it recorded on VHS somewhere. I also want to dub all of the skipped episodes into English.

Also, I have the Japanese R2 DVDs of the first 3 movies which have selectable English or Japanese dubs. Those are pretty cool not only because of the audio, but also the fact that they are widescreen, unlike the US releases. The First Movie also has the complete Mewtwo's Origin that plays before the movie, and no glitch that has Bulbasaur? appear twice during the opening credits. Movie 2000 has an extra scene with Tracey describing why the explosion is about to happen. When viewed with English audio, this scene has no audio and a subtitle "NO SOUND IN ENGLISH VERSION". I'd like to re-dub that scene as well.

I don't think the rest of the movies have dual audio releases. I'm trying to find a widescreen copy of the English version of movie 4, since I hear there were additional scenes animated for the English release that are not on the Japanese DVD.

The only official English release that I know of contains English and Japanese audio is the GameCube game Pokemon Channel.

Transformers The Movie: Resparked (Released)
Time
How about adding some of the 1986 movie soundtrack? During the titles, an edited version of Lion's Transformers theme can play, and maybe You've Got the Touch during the final battles. Another song from the soundtrack can possible play thru Bumblebee's radio, if something would fit in there. These changes can also be on an alternate audio track only.

What about replacing Megatron's voice with the voice from the game or old cartoons? Also maybe doing this throughout the movie for the characters that don't speak much?

Can we have Sam and Ron at least once, called Spike and Sparkplug?

Saved by the Bell in chronological order (a WIP)
Time
I re-arranged the order of the episodes in the first post to make the seasons and holidays fit where they are supposed to. I moved the summer episodes (Malibu Sands) to between grades 10 and 11, so that the Hawaiian Style movie can go between 11 and 12. I also moved the Christmas episodes to shortly after the SAT episode, because the SATs are usually on Saturday in November and December. I moved the Palm Springs episodes so that they are kinda during Spring Break. I also switched around Love Machine and Operation Zack so that the reason Lisa is not there is that she is volunteering at the hospital. I also moved Cut Day up so that it can be in September (which is when Gilligan's Island was cancelled, which Screech says something about that) just for fun.

Not quite sure how this will be distributed, but most of it would mostly be instructions on how to assemble my custom collection.

Thanks guys! I don’t own the last boxset yet, and I don’t remember how everything exactly went, but I think the order I have chosen for the episodes will work this way. Kelly and Jessie will be there in one and not in the next episode during the last season/ grade. They just Kelly/ Jessie and Tori just had conflicting classes. Let me know the episodes in this order works. Tried to put them in the most logical order based around school activities, outings and holidays.

I'm using the official US DVD's for the most part. I will buy the DVDs for the two TV movies from whatever country they were released in and convert them to NTSC. Is that OK, considering they are not in the same order at all on the official DVD's? Also, the Miss Bliss episodes probably will never be released, so I'm using them from TBS TV recordings I made. I'm trying to put them in the production order and basically an order which makes sense. So far I've made discs 5-11 for myself.

Saved by the Bell in chronological order (a WIP)
Time

I’m working on a custom set of Saved by the Bell that puts the episodes in the proper chronological order, which is not the order the official DVDs are in, nor the NBC airing order. NBC aired them all out of order for some crazy reason. My DVDs will be in the production order presented here:, for the most part at least. I’m using his suggestions and moving around some of the epsiodes where I see fit, such as the Palm Springs, Christmas, and Tori episodes. I’ll post my order below. I’m also including the 13 episode Junior High Years (AKA Good Morning, Miss Bliss) and the two TV movies.

I’m also going to include optional allternate audio on the episode “King of the Hill” removing the line from Zack at the beginning, “I’ll never forget the day I met Slater”… or something like that, which was used to imply the episode was a flashback when it originally aired. I’m going to also create alternate audio on the Miss Bliss episodes to remove everything that contradicts the “real” SbtB, such as references to Indiana, Zack and Screech’s siblings and change Zack’s “other” dad into his uncle. My JFK Jr High is going to be right next door to Bayside. At the end of the last Miss Bliss episode, I will also include a text description of what happened between it and “King of the Hill”, something like this:

What we missed:

Shortly before Zack and the gang graduated from JFK Jr. High, Mr. Belding accounced to his students that he was being transfered to neighboring Bayside High. Joining him would be Zack, Lisa and Screech. Mikey and Nikki unfortunatly won’t be joining them, as their parents moved away from California, rumor has it, to Indianapolis or someplace like that. Jessie Spano was one of Zack’s oldest childhood friends. Zack didn’t get to see her during his 8th grade year, however, as her and her family were temporarily re-located. It seemed that Jessie was back in Palasades for good again now, though! There was a girl Zack had been trying to build up the courage to approach for almost 2 years now… Kelly Kapowski. She was the most gorgeous creature Zack had ever laid eyes upon and this year, he would finally make his move…

What does everyone think about this project? For GMMB, you can choose to play with or without the High School Zack intros (when available) made for NBC when they turned GMMB
into SbtB and choose either the Miss Bliss original or SbtB opening and ending. I found a French original Disney airing of a GMMB episode, so I’ll attempt to recreate the original background soundtrack in yet another alternate audio track.

I’ll include all of the bonus material I can find, including the
original pilot for GMMB that only aired once on NBC before it moved to Disney. The pilot cast starred Haley Mills, Brian Austin-Greene and Jaleel White. No Zack, Screech or anything and a different Mr. Belding.

Here is my episode order so far:

Street Fighter II - The Animated Movie Super Special Champion Edition Turbo (Released)
Time
Most of the footage (commercials, promo videos) is backed up on my Xbox. I have the original Japanese DVD backed up on DVD and I'll have to rip the scenes from the PS1 movie game again. I did lose some unrelated things I might use some assistance in recovering. I'll let you know soon. Thanks a lot! I appreciate it.

I don't think the old torrent works anymore. I just recently got my computer working again, so I'll see what I can do about creating a new torrent.

Unfortunatly, I'll have to start work on my bonus disc all over again as well, since all progress I had made previously had been lost to a HD failure. I'll get started on it as soon as I can.

If it starts where the girl is tied up on the bed, that's pretty short, isn't it? The way I would have done it would have been to use the ENTIRE opening of NSNA minus the singing and credits. Anyone know of a way to remove the credits?

There are automatic logo removers - but they'll give you (a) distracting blurry area(s).

Or it can be done with a compositor (preferably with motion-tracking to compensate for camera movement). Mask off the credits, and then take the clean frames before and/or after each credit to replace them. But whenever an actor (and the leaves, in this case) move, you end up with something that resembles glitches in the mpeg. So you have to do corrective surgery in an image editor. Morph/tween/slo-mo proggies can interpolate between the clean frames to give you something to patch with - if you're lucky, you can repair one or more frames, then tween again. Tween gets confused if there's a lot of movement between frames, but you can clip to matching portions of each frame.

I can do the compositing, but I don't have time to do the frame-by-frame image repair. (I'm in the middle of cleaning up credits from a couple of TNG episodes, which is tough, in places, because the credits are huge in comparison to this one's).

Compositing doesn't work for all credits. For example, it wouldn't help where the camera is flying over the everglades, because the perspective keeps changing. But I doubt if an editor would want to use those shots anyway - too lengthy for anything other than credits. And the rotating shot of the building would need a lot of hand work to fix the foliage. You can fix a single frame to look good - but when you fix a bunch & put it into motion, you see fluctuations... you can fix half the frames and do a slo-mo, though, and that'll smooth it out some...

Looking at the DVD, most of the shots look fairly reasonable. But there are always problems that you don't really notice until you've done the compositing.

Image editing is a ***** at DVD resolution, by the way. It would be infinitely easier to repair HD-rez frames & shrink them. There was a Bond flood in a.b.hdtv, but those have all expired. I haven't seen them in the repost group, yet. But they might turn up again. Maybe somebody downloaded them?

HD would also give you the choice of cropping out parts of the credits...

There would probably be some color grading issues between the DVD and HD versions, maybe not distracting if you stick to whole shots. I'm not knowlegeble enough to deal with that problem, yet.

It would probably be feasable, right now, for a company to make tweening software that could automatically remove credits/logos in most scenes. But nobody's gone that far yet. It could read previous frames, interpolate & tween, and you'd just tell it what sections to replace. The makers of another type of software are talking about doing one of those functions, for another purpose. One of these days... maybe...

Have you seen the edit of this movie? Was any of this done already?

What else has been changed to the movie besides the opening and music? I own the DVD but have never watched it. I just watched the title scenes from the retail DVD a few minutes ago for the first time. In the clip I downloaded, after the titles, it shows a sign on a building. What scene is that from? Is there any scenes MISSING from this edit?

Also, if we were to pretend NSNA was a real Bond film, where would it go? I keep mine between Octopussy and A View to a Kill. Do all of the Bond films with the exception of Casino Royale take place in the order they were released?

Speaking of Casino Royale, someone asked about the TV version in this thread. The whole thing is an extra on FanFiltration's Thunderball edit.
